Ruth, next year I'm going to come for the maple tapping, OK? That's something I've always been interested in seeing, and I love real maple syrup. You have a year to get your guestroom ready.

Vermonters might have a word or two to say about that The official start of the season here was last Tuesday, Town Meeting Day.

I've always lived in maple tree country though and could never understand how anyone could use that fake stuff. Yuck

I agree, CANADIAN MAPLE SYRUP ROCKS!! We go to a friends sugar shack for a huge breakfast after collecting all the buckets off the trees. Yummo!! We cook up bacon, eggs, pancakes, and sausages on an old time cookstove.

My mouth is watering.

Evening, ladies.

Give me strength. I'm baking for a friend's birthday tomorrow and am having a he!! of a time avoiding it.

*food porn ahead*
I baked white chocolate cranberry cookies, snickerdoodle blondies and german chocolate whoopie pies (filled with coconut pecan frosting)

omg. The house smells so good. DS woke up when the first batch of whoopie pie cakes came out of the oven and ran into the kitchen proclaiming "CHOCOLATE!!"

he wasn't too happy when he had to go to bed without any
