After 2 weeks on phase 1, it's really just phase 1.5 anyway (try adding one fruit or whole grain at first) so I am sure you will do well!

Even before SB I ate whole wheat bread & pasta & brown rice. To me, they taste so much better and although I rarely ordered pasta at restaurants, when I did I didn't really enjoy the regular stuff. Even cooked al dente, it just seemed kind of slimy to me after getting used to eating only whole grains.

Unfortunately, steel cut oats and even oat bran seem to make me hungry quickly (and I've read others who say the same thing), so it will be a while before I eat that.

yes, 2 weeks is all you need of p1. i've been on "p1 1/2" for a while now and it really works for me. once the cravings are gone, which happens in P1, everything seems easier anyway. south beach is the first official diet I've tried, other than the "starve yourself til you can't stand it" diet which does not work and I would not recommend to a friend. I love eating, and south beach makes sure I do it on a regular basis, so no complaints here! glad you're here, and i know you'll do well
