The early bird gets the worm! Ewww, why do they say that? I don't want any worms. I"m not trying to best Cat, this morning, the only reason I'm here this early is because I have to be at the girls' by 6:45am. Jake was nice enough to have the coffee ready when I came down, so I'm enjoying that now. I think I'll take my oatmeal with me, since that way I won't be tempted by their morning bagels.
Speaking of bagels, Nessa, how's your dear Bagel doing?
Just got my first cup, but I'll definately have that second cup with you and a third when that one is done. Coffee is something I have NOT given up on. Have fun with the girlets to day!!
Nothing special on my plate today...just work. Last night I sauted all the stuff to make red beans and rice with turkey sausage. So I just need to throw it all in the crock pot before I leave this morning. Just waiting to see what the day brings. I have a meeting at school from lunch time until dismissal time, so have to get plans together for a sub for the afternoon. ick.
Oh, and 2 puppies were gone when I got home yesterday. Broke my heart, but they both have good homes..one with 3 little girls for a rambuctious little guy and one to a girl who just lost her dog..a very calm little girl. Perfect matches.
It is actually cool here this morning! We even slept with the windows opened and the air condition off. Guess I'm going to need some new clothes soon. I have nothing for the fall or winter.
Wishing everyone a super great day!

Good morning, Early Chicks. I think you two are SOL for the worm because it's darn cold out there. Fall weather has definitely arrived and I need to think about warmer clothes - after this coming weekend.
Cat, so glad your pups are getting good homes. It sure is a wrench wehn they go although you know they have good homes and need to move on. I just counted up and realized I've said goodbye to 48 puppies but have kept track of over half of them.
Ended yesterday - a horrible day - on a low note as I managed to slice my thumb on the mandolin á la CyndiM. Those things are dangerous. Got the bleeding stopped finally and had an early night. It was sort of the cherry on top of a lousy day but today must be better.
Laundry is chugging away to be followed by the dishwasher and then my house will be in order. I have this strange thing about going away - everything must be in good shape. l also have a half bushel of pears to deal with - I go to town for an ortho appointment and may give them to Loaves and Fishes, our local soup kitchen, when I'm there. There's no way I can deal with them today and I'm outta here first thing tomorrow morning. Claire brought them over yesterday afternoon - just before I sliced my thumb!

I'm famous! Somehow I always suspected it would be for my klutsiness Were you using the safety guard?! I'm still pretty bad about that but much more careful about where my thumb is.
We like pears done with a little fresh ginger. I just mix them in a bowl with a little shredded ginger then toss them in the dehydrator. Tasty and nice when yourtummy is a little off.
Cottage - I'm definitely ready for my second cup but I'll pass on the worms.
Cat - Glad the puppies are going off to good homes. I'm with you on the coffee, no way I was giving that up!
My car is supposed to be ready this morning. Great thing about small towns - my mechanic squeezed me in because I couldn't drive my car. That meant he worked on it after I went to bed last night! Then I'm off to the Dr. for the MRI results and hopefully the last of the discussion about the alien abduction incident. After that a normal but late work day.
Now I'm thinking about bagels. Guess it will be a hemp bagel with laughing cow and tomato for breakfast Have a good day all
Cyndim, yes, you are famous and no, I wasn't using the guard thingie! Duh! I actually was about to make the pears and ginger thingie but threw out the pears - I didn't think pink and salty would be a good flavour. TMI, right? I hope the MRI shows nothing and that the aliens have gone.
Cat...I think that's why I couldn't let my dogs have puppies...I'd be SO heartbroken when they left!! Isn't this weather the beautiful!?
Ruth....OUCH...sounds like something out of a day of my life with slicing your thumb!! While cooking sunday....within a span of 3 minutes, literally, i cut my finger right on my knuckle, and burned my arm....now that's talent!
Cyndi....good luck with the MRI results! And YAY for small towns!!!
As for me...the weather is wonderful here. Still cloudy and dark, but MUCH cooler with what feels like almost no humidity (even though it's still 81%..haha). It's so nice outside that I just took my dogs for a walk before leaving for work...hopefully that was a bargaining piece for them not to tear my house up while I'm gone!! haha
Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Still sending good vibes to Nessa and Bagel....hope all is well!!

Cottage you are so sweeet to ask about the Bagel boy.... here is the sad tale he has a herniated disc in his neck. he's 8-9 years old (we are not sure how old he is), he's a big dog (110 pounds) he cannot STAND or WALK at all right now. Dog neurologist, dog MRI and dog surgery are too expensive, so we will try steroid treatment for a few days while he stays at the vet. IF he improves he can come home and be on steroids (until his kidney's fail from them) and be ok, otherwise come Friday, we will put him down....
weather here is nice. I turned the AC off this morning again....
(((((((NESSA))))))) So sorry about Bagel! I had two cats for fifteen years, gideon was 19 and noah 17 when I had to make that awful decision du to G having cancer and N having seizures! My heart goes out to you and I'll pray that he responds to the steriods.
I'm still wanting that beautiful young kitten that resembles Gideon.
Ruth... I'm the same way, need to have my house picked up before I go to bed at night, hate waking up to a mess.... Still working on settling in the office since I had to redo some of it.
It's cool here as well., I hate looking for work. But then I do need a job. Anyone know of one I can do at home? I'm enjoying it here! (for the most part).
Nessa, I am so sorry to hear that, that has to be so hard, I hope the steroids work for Bagel.
Hi to everyone else.
The doc took more xrays of ds chest and everything looked good- he said it will take 4 to 6 weeks to completely heal but he should be able to start playing in about 1 to 2 weeks once pain is gone.
Been busy at work and other than not much going on.
Oh God, Nessa. That's so awful. My Mom's little Sophie had one of those in her neck, but is only 4, so she had the little doggy neck surgery at the U of IL pet clinic back in April or May. I hope that the steroids work for your Bagel. They worked for Sophie, but then her vet wanted to wean her off of them, and she went back to twitching and not being able to move, so that's when they said it was surgery time. I will keep praying for Bagel!!!!
So.... there's good news and bad news. The good news is, the interview went great, and the doctor absolutely loved me, and kept talking like I was working for him already throughout the entire interview. The bad news is.... he can't afford me. I didn't tell him right away because I wanted to come home, talk to Tommy, and try to figure out some finances, but he can't offer any more than $10/hr with no health/dental/vision/vacation/sick time. Currently, I have Blue Cross Blue Sheild, and make nearly twice that. Just not feasible. I figure if he calls to offer me the job after he does other interviews, I'll let him know then. Looks like it's back to the drawing board.
My doctor's office called back about the blood pressure thing, and told me to break my pills in half and then report my blood pressure to her again in 2 weeks. Hopefully that helps!
Well, gotta get ready to start the day. Hope everyone has a great day!
off to the doctor today as i am having a bit of ear ach and sore throat with lots of white spots on my tonsels "joy" and of course this comes now cause i am suppose to leave saturday for vacation.
Good morning all! Happy Tuesday!
Cottage - That's early to be with the girls, but hopefully that means that you'll be home early as well. Good luck with that!
Cat - I can't imagine giving puppies away, it would break my heart. But it's good to know that you know the families and such. Have fun at your meeting today.
Ruth - Sorry you had such a crappy day, yesterday. And just so you know, I have also ripped up my thumb on my mandolin. Actually went to the emergency room, but there was no need for stitches, they just stopped the bleeding and bandaged it up. But boy did it hurt! I think taking the bushel to the kitchen is a great idea!
Cyndi - Hope all goes well at the DR's. Good luck!!!
Mindy - Enjoy your cooler day. You've certainly earned it!!!
Nessa - I'm so sorry! I hope the steroids work and Bagel can feel better soon.
Loriann - So you think you're going to get the kitty? Too fun!!! Did you get my email yesterday?
Pearlrose - Good news about your son. I hope he feels better soon!
Weezle - Bummer about the job. That stinks! But at least you got some good interview practice under your belt. I'm sure you'll find something better out there soon!!!
Gonnabe - Hope you feel better!!
Me - So I'm here early because the exercise on-demand is not working this morning.....BOOOOOOO! So I'm going to clean a little before dh gets up. Got the results back from the vet yesterday and the blood tests for Pocket came back relatively fine (he said her thyroid was slightly elevated), but last night she was extremely reclusive. I'm going to call him today and see if he wants be to bring her in before Saturday. I hope everything will be alright. She's my baby.....
Tonight we've got a shin-dig to go to for the work dh does for the magazine. It should be nice, I"m just hoping they have SBD friendly food. AND Biggest Loser starts up again. I'm looking forward to seeing the transformations!!!!
Have a fantastic Tuesday, Ladies!!!
ENJOY!!!
Cottage & Cat I'm with you on the coffee, I have cut back but still have more then the "RDA" it's for everyone's well being around me!
Ruth My mom was always the same way about the house when we would leave, she always said if anything happened while we were away she would hate for someone to walk into our house a find anything out of place. I am slowly getting there as my kids get older and I get wiser!
Cyndi hope all goes well with the MRI.
Mandy, Loriann & Pearl
Nessa continued prayers and hugs.
Me Not much, worked training a new part-timer yesterday and she is off today so I will do some catching up of my own.
Have a great day ladies!

Ruth--My mom cut off a whole fingertip on a mandolin. Those things scare me!! She couldn't even get a stitch because there was no skin to pull together. Blech. Hope you didn't have to go to the hospital or anything.
Weezle--Sorry to hear about the job. I hate that about jobs you really want. Money is such an inconvenience!!
Nessa--I am so sorry about Bagel. I almost had to put Chester down last summer when he had a cancerous tumor. He was only 3 and it about killed me. Luckily he bounced right back to his annoying self with the steroids in his eye. I hope Bagel will take a turn for the better.
Going to go take my itchy self to the cafe at work for some breakfast and hopefully get good work done today. I have an OB appointment at 3:45 so I have to duck out a little early, but not too bad. Looking forward to seeing what they say but not to the cervix check. It's not painful yet because the baby's head is not that low, but it is kind of weird.
