Morning. Came super close to walking out of work yesterday. After all this with the labor, I get a text from another girl (my equal) who was put in charge of the district while my boss is out of town. It says "Why did you schedule 2 closers and mids? You have to cut all that." So I informed her that our boss said as long as we were under labor, we were fine. She said due to some of the Indy stores not being able to make labor, the rest of us had to cut.

I texted back and forth with my boss, trying to find out the scoop. He said we needed to hit as a district, as a TEAM, and he needed my leadership over the next 3 weeks. I ended up letting him know that I already lost 1 person, have 1 person interviewing elsewhere next week, 1 that it's not worth 6 hours a week, 1 that needs 25+ hours a week, and even my asst is looking for other work "just in case." I defended my staff through the whole thing, and made it very clear that I wasn't on board, because I was under labor.

So then this girl (again, my EQUAL) calls me up and is trying to explain to me that it's not a request, she's TELLING me I'm going to do it. I told her "I'm sorry. I'm telling you I'm NOT doing it." She proceeds to tell me that everyone has to do it, she told a single mom with no other job that she can't even schedule her at ALL in the next 4 weeks, etc. It's not a request. I told her again, I understand that, but I'm not doing it. She kept saying "I don't understand why you don't get that this isn't a request, it's your job." I said "I do understand. I don't understand why you don't get that I'm not ing my staff. I'm NOT DOING IT." Then she went on to tell me about how if people aren't willing to do this, "we" will find people that will, etc. Again, she's my equal.

Fortunately I had a customer come up so I told her I'd call her back (which I didn't.) So after a few hours of debating on whether or not to walk out, I finished my shift and came home.

Got a call last night from Anthony (another equal) telling me to relax, as he'd just gotten off the phone with our boss. Apparently this girl that called me went "way overboard" and apparently was taking a power trip, because my boss says as long as we have a $20-$25 cushion under labor, we're fine. I had already scheduled a $20 cushion, so I don't have to change a thing.

I have an interview on Monday with a Chiropractor, for administrative work. It's in the nicest area of town, which means it will either pay really well, or really bad. I'm hoping for really well. I got the interview less than 24 hours after applying. We'll see what happens.

Gotta email my boss about this girl. Pray for me. I need out.

Have a good day girls!

Lisa

Rebel, I always do a Phase 1.5. For me, that means only having one grain serving every day, and limiting my fruit to 1 or 2 servings a day. It's a way of tweaking the plan for what works best for me.
I some of the others chickies that do a 1.5 may have other ways of how they tweak it to suit them.

Stay safe, TK!

Good morning ladies!!! Happy TGIFriday!!!

Cat - I hope things stay safe for you and your students. I'm sure there will be a few who keep the kids home for the day.

Belle - If you're not feeling better by Monday, you should probably think about going to the DR. I hope the weekend makes it all better!

Loriann - Sorry you didn't sleep well, but at least you were able to be productive during that time. Good luck getting everything done today.

KO - So you did Gastric Bypass, and now are eating the SBD way. How's that working for you?? Are you seeing results quicker?

Cottage - Sounds like you were really productive yesterday. Great job!!!

Ruth - I hope the interview goes well.

Schmoodle - A trip to Orlando will be really good for your kids and you. If you were coming to the west coast, I'd totally take you up on the offer to come over and keep you company

Nessa - So sorry about Bagel. But great news on the scale front. Great job!!!

TK - Stay safe!!!

Jellybean - I used to work at a perfume counter and we never had a strawberry scented item. Very interesting.....

Weezle - I'm sorry things are so bad these days at work. I hope the interview on Monday goes well. I'll be praying for you!!!

Gonnabe, Pearlrose, Rebel -

Me - Glad it's Friday and we've gotten through the first week of work. I think it'll be a good year. I'm headed to my chiropractor today after work (which I'm REALLY looking forward to), my back and foot are starting to act up and I could really use some time on the massage table. Rich and I are headed to dinner on the Magazine tonight and then over to friends for poker. Should be a good night.
Have a great Friday, ladies!!
ENJOY!!!

Tkglenn - Good luck, girl. Hope you and your family stay safe...if you do feel like bailing...we're only a few hours away.

Morning girls. Good gracious ya'll are talkative this morning.

Getting lots of rain and a little wind. The university is closed today, so DH doesn't have to go in to work. Should be nice to have him home, but it is always tough to get anything done when he's home

I have to run to the store in a second, I made pancakes and realized we don't have any syrup or frozen fruit to make a compote....I'm also going to pick up some pears and apples and make some applesauce...ya'll gave me a **** of a craving. I tried to talk DH into going to the store last night and making me some...but he said that he was not going to get out of bed at 1 a.m. and go shopping and then come home to make applesauce. Party pooper.

Cat, stay away from any windows....we don't want that debris flying in. Make like your son and get in a fort. Forts are always fun...especially with husbands

Have a nice day, girls. We'll talk to you later.

Weezle, that girl sounds like the type of girl I'd want to punch in the teeth. Urrggh. Hopefully things go well when you tell your boss.

Hope everyone who's in the way of Ike is okay. Let us know what happens asap.

Jelly, yes you are random but I've got that problem myself at times. (Chickens are cute. What? ) You should check out some BonneBell stuff, like the strawberry lipsmackers, plus they make fruit scented bodywashes and lotions to match their lipsmackers. I had the watermelon. It was scrumptious. It was a pack with a bottle of shower gel, body lotion, lipgloss, and a pouf. And they're not very expensive.

Tk - keep safe. I know they are asking that most of Houston stay put. Many of the 1 million who have evacuated are coming to the Dallas area where I live.

Cat, Zeff, Mandy - I hope you gals don't get any serious damage. Ike is a huge storm!

I've moved most of the loose objects into the garage. I can't lift the swing by myself but I might see if Brian can help me move it over by the gate so we can tie it down to that. The table and umbrella are too heavy so hopefully they will be fine with the gusts we should get.

Otherwise everything is fine. I've been keeping to phase 1.5 for the most part and am down even more this morning. I am thrilled! I'm back under 160.

Just to clarify: I misspoke when I described my stomach issues as a "virus." It is really a combination of a sinus infection, plus getting used to some meds that is causing the gastro issues, and I am under a doc's care. I just have to ride out the side effects for the next couple of days. I actually feel a bit better today and had some oatmeal for breakfast. Thanks for your concern, everyone!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!! OK, so out of my loneliness last week I placed an ad in rochesters craigs list. One guy started talking with me, next thing I know he's Iming me calling me "love" and that he wants us to be together!????? WHAT? you dont know me!!!!!!! I've been telling him I'm not interested (and yes, I removed that sad ad that didn't even have a pic), and he's trying to convince me that we are meant to be? LOL.. i told him if he contacts me one more time I'll place him on ignore!

Some people are so sad! But then, I was sad to even place that ad! LOL.

Loriann, don't feel bad about the ad, that guy sounds like a creep!! Placing an ad to meet people, isn't that what Match.com and sites like it are all about?? And it is very common now! :-)
I have been meaning to tell you THANK YOU! Thank you for grabbing me off the PCOS boards and talking me into coming to SB. I am doing great, love the program and having much success so far! I owe that to you!!

On a different note, where is everyone getting steel cut oatmeal? At the noramal grocery store? I was at Super Wal-Mart last night, and they had 1 can of "John McCains" steel cut oatmeal (I am not making this up.). The can was dented really bad, so I passed. I need it for next week, not sure where to try next? We have a Jewel (if you have those by you) close by. Ideas?

No my dear, your success is yours and yours alone! You asked about a plan and I was happy to tell you of SB, I didn't make, or help, you in actually putting the plan into use!

As for the steel cut oats, I purchased mine from Wegmans, but I know they are local.... Does oatmeal go bad? I've had mine a few months! Not too big on oatmeal I suppose!
