Nessa, they dont even need that with the right comman and hand motion!

Heck I had my dog in a down position, showed her ONCE a new hand motion to go from "down" to "sit",,, a day later, she wanted some meatloaf, so I did that motion and she went from down to sit!

We don't have shutters and I'm not sure if DH is going to put plywood up....especially right now. I guess if in the next few days it still looks like it's going to hit bad, he'll plywood up the windows towards the east and tape the rest.

We just moved DS' bed. He looked very confused. We told him that we're going to have a sleepover for the next few days....he's SO excited. He brought me a movie that he wants to watch during the "sleepover" and asked if we could have cookies and popcorn.

Good morning ladies.
Zeff, you convinced me to give up sugar in my coffee. I had it today with Spenda. I just need to deal with it and eventually I'll get used to it, right? :-)

Hope everyone stays safe with the storms!

Good morning all! Before I start with personals, I must share the best breakfast I made this morning: Sauteed onion, zucchini, red bell pepper, mushrooms, add 1 homemade turkey sausage patty, add one egg to scramble in. Turn heat off and add a handful of fresh spinach and 1/2 tomato. SOOOOO YUMMY!!!!

Cat - How fun that your daughter came in to town. What a sweet treat for you! I'm seriously praying for you that Gustav calms. Hang in there and be safe!!!

Autumn - Enjoy your quiet weekend. Sounds like a splendid idea!

Nessa - Glad to hear that points & SBD are working for you. I hope it's a winning combination. And, yes, I totally agree with you regarding their "goals' I think that for some they are totally unrealistic.

Ruth - Were you successful in getting that sample???Have fun getting ready for the Pypers today!

Mandy - Whatever you do..please just be safe. We're all praying for you!

Cyndi - Nice that you can be home today. Cucumber chips sound interesting. I wouldn't think they would work well in the dehydrator. Have fun making your pickles. And as soon as you can, have Julie catch some pics of the hawks to share with us.

Schmoodle - Glad to hear that you go everyone out on time. I hope you can enjoy your quiet time at home. I'm swinging by facebook after this to look at your albums. Your family looks so sweet.

Phnxsunflower - Here's hoping that being a taxi this weekend doesn't become too much of a hassle.

Pearlrose - Sounds like you've got a good handle on what you need to do to get back on track! Good job, and keep it up!!!

Gonnabe - Have a great weekend...it's going to be busy!!!

l/c - Enjoy your drinks this weekend and then get back on track with us. You've had a good summer, but now it's time to start working on yourself again.

Zeff - I can't even begin to imagine how to prepare for hurricanes and tornadoes. I hope everyone stays safe and that you find water soon. Sending prayers your way.

Lori - Church on Sunday is probably a great idea. Sorry to hear that the dog (even when he's gone) is still an issue for you. I hope the new owners are able to find a suitable home for him.

Jenskihere - You'll get used to Splenda soon enough. It's actually a great sweetener substitute. Good luck with it!

Me - So I'm feeling really good about being back on Phase 1. The scales are showing my work, which is great. Went to dh's company picnic yesterday, had a lot of fun. And the food was OP and good. Today I go back in to work for a short day to prepare for next Tuesday when we do in-service for all staff. I'm hoping that today moves smoothly. They tonight we're headed to friends for BBQ and finishing up the Bachlorette.
I'll be good to get back into a regular routine....I actually like normalcy in my life. I think it grounds me some. Well I'm off to figure out my menu for next week.
Have a good Friday ladies!!!
ENJOY!!!

I'm on a mission to find water today. I've been to all the wal-marts in town, one of the Targets, most of the other grocery stores...nothing. I hear that the Target on the other side of town has plenty, so I'm headed over there this morning. Good luck getting your supplies.

Autumn - have a nice weekend.

Nessa - haha! Hopefully hanna doesn't turn out to be anything bad, it will get even worse!

Ruth - have fun with all of that. Sounds like you have a busy day/weekend ahead of you.

Cyndi - sounds like you have a fun and relaxing weekend ahead of you, enjoy!

Schmoo - Congrats on the scale moving! I love that little bouncy thing.

Phxsunflower - I don't think Mom's are supposed to appreciate being a taxi pulled in all directions

Pearl - here's to some great motivation!

--

I've checked all but one store in lafayette for water....and all I have to show is 2 packs of 12 .5 liter bottles. We could go through that in a day, easily. I'm going to head to a different target and the Sam's club to see what I can find. Sources say they have plenty. Other than water, we have enough supplies - batteries, canned/dry goods up the wazoo, crank flashlights, candles.

We decided to not go to the hurricane party that we had scheduled - especially if the storm keeps its track and increases severity. It just wouldn't be responsible to bring a child. We've tried finding places to stay farther north, but so far really haven't found anything. I have a few more places to call today.

I'm moving DS' bed into our bedroom today as he has 3 eastern facing windows in his room and large trees outside. Our bedroom only had north-western facing windows and shouldn't have a problem with flying debris.

It's so weird, I'm used to tornadoes and have had to completely re-educate myself on the workings of hurricanes.

Zeff, try gas station C stores and drugstores for water too. We always find water at Walgreens or CVS when we travel.

Hi all,

Today started off a little crazy, we slept in when we were supposed to get up super early to drop hubby's work van at the repair shop. So we had to scramble around this morning to get it over there. In the midst of this, puppy is having "runny" potty problems, if you know what I mean....LOL

Anyway, nothing new with me. I'll be reading, writing, and cooking up a big batch of puppy's food today. Hubby goes out of town again on Monday, so we're hoping to spend some relaxation time together over the weekend.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Praying that Gustav dies out in the middle of the gulf!

unfortunately, no. But we can watch the movies this weekend and we have a backup battery for the portable dvd player - it should last about 8 hours with both batteries charged fully.

Plus, we have our laptop and a spare battery for that.

I bought some toddler friendly board games yesterday that should keep us entertained.

Thankfully I'm already pregnant....that is what DH and I did during Rita

I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the hurricane. They are already making plans in Dallas in case people from south Texas or LA need to be evacuated to here.

One of our senior staff members on the Oct Wood Badge course had to drop out due to a bad case of Lyme disease so we have a meeting next week to figure out how to pick up his responsibilities. I'm having enough trouble getting all the scribe stuff done but I'll help where I can.

They had a problem at work that lasted all night and may need to me to help out late today. If it looks like that will happen, I'm heading home at lunch to work from home so I can get Brian on time. I've also promised he can see his Dad at 8 tonight so I made sure my boss knew about that.

Brian did get to see his Dad last night. He is restrained so he won't damage anything and when Brian and Connie first walked in he told her to get Brian out so they wouldn't tie Brian up too. Michael came in a bit later and went in and talked to Robert so he now understands where he is and what is going on. I guess he was really confused with being sedated so long. Brian got to see him again after that and it went well.

I'm almost back down to my August weight. I probably won't show a loss for this month but at least I should recover from the vacation damage. I would like to try to do a few days of phase 1 next week but I'll have to see how things go.
