Brian's dentist appointment went well. No cavities, two loose baby teeth and right now we don't have to do anything about the lower crowding. Yeah! He came home and played on the Wii until it was time to go to a meeting last night. I suggested he read instead of playing GameBoy since I don't like too much game time. He still woke up this morning with a sore neck. I think he just slept on it wrong but I'm going to watch the amount of time he spends on the Wii just in case that was a factor. He's staying home today since the field trip involves miniature golf and lasar tag which would not be a good idea right now. Motrin helped the pain and he is able to move it much easier now. He has none of the symptoms of menigitis but I looked them up just in case.

Tomorrow is the staff party and it looks like we have at least 30 coming so it should be fun. I still need to buy propane and groceries and mow but it will all get done.

Off to make some hot cereal for the family.

Check back later.

Good morning ladies!!! Happy Friday!

Ruth - Glad to hear that this morning is better than yesterday's. Have a good weekend, try to find some sort of rest.

Loriann - Great news! Here's hoping that one of the jobs is a good fit!

Cat - I agree with you re: funerals. Even though they are somber occasions, there always seems to be such love and good feelings that sometimes you can't help but have a good time. Have a great time tonight with your high school buddy.

Cottage - Glad to hear that your girls got back safely and had such a wonderful time. Be sure to take it easy with them today as they deal with the joys of jet lag.

Iianae - Welcome! Mashed potatoes always were a go to for me when I had teeth stuff to deal with. Soft enough to go down, but also filling.

Schmoodle - Have a safe trip and enjoy your time away. Don't work too hard.

Pearlrose - Glad to hear that your family is coming home this weekend. Enjoy having them back.

Nessa - Glad to hear that things are already feeling better. Sushi is one of those things that I know I will want down the road, so I am waiting until I have the right mind set. In the mean time, like you, I will stay FAR AWAY!!!

Gonnabe - Have a great time in Daytona! Enjoy!

Stephanie - Sounds like you'll have a productive weekend. Try to find some fun it it!

Kim - Feel better! The weekend is almost here!!!

Zeff - Sounds like your MIL and MIL are made from the same mold. She can seriously drive me crazy. I hope you're able to get DS in a better mood so tonight's celebrations isn't made worse by a cranky boy. Good luck with that!

Barb - Glad to hear that things went well at the Dentist. Good luck getting ready for the weekend party!

Me - Going into work late today due to a Chiropractic appointment. So today will be a very short work day. Headed over to my friend's tonight to scrapbook, and then I've got USO tomorrow morning. We got news that there are two big buses coming in today and tomorrow, so it should be a full scene at the hospitality suite. Playing poker with friends and getting a new car are also on the agenda.
Have a FANTASTIC Friday, Ladies!!!
ENJOY!

I asked DH if my mom was that bad...he said no...I still don't know if he was just trying to make me feel better

DS seems to be in better spirits today...I think the combination of not very long or good naps during the day and a bunch of young kids trying to all play with the same toy was just making him a little out of sorts. I'm going to try and get him back on his nap schedule today. He should sleep a lot....he doesn't really seem in the mood to actually do anything....but is perky and happy.

thank god it is Friday. Oy.

Tomorrow, the entire clan is going shopping and then out to lunch. The boys are then going to a beer festival and I think the girls are going their separate ways.

Let me get something off my back...

SIL has a daughter who is a month older than my DS. DS usually takes a morning nap, while his cousin takes an afternoon nap. When we were trying to figure out the plan for tomorrow, she kept making it abundantly clear that we had to go in the morning...or she wasn't interested in going at all. I told her that mornings are usually not the best for us, unless we get started early. She basically blew that information off and said that she wanted to let her DD wake up naturally - and she wasn't sure what time that would be. She said she would just call us when they were ready...it could be anytime from 9-11....I don't know how she thinks I'm supposed to just keep a tired 2 year old happy for two hours...or why she can't just say, let's meet at such and such a time! I mentioned 10...but apparently she can wake up as late as 10:30.

Why do people expect my family to be ultra flexible...and cannot be just a teensy bit flexible in return? I hate not having time plans....how do I judge what time I have to be up by to get everyone fed and dressed if I have no idea what time we're going to be meeting?

ugh! I'm aggravated.

Just popping in to say hi. Busy day today.

Is anyone else frustrated about the quality of produce in the supermarkets? Expensive and poor quality does not make for a happy SB dieter, I'll tell ya.

Hot and humid today, nothing new.

Well, have a great day, everyone!!

That's me today too. Grandma is awake and sharp as a tack, and in relatively good spirits. They removed 850 cc's of fluid from one of her lungs yesterday, so she's breathing a bit better. Still no word on the blood clot, but at least she's far more comfortable than she had been.

Went and picked up an aunt at the airport in St Louis at 10:15 last night. Got her home, settled, and went to bed at 1am. Phone rang at 3:45am with my work ring tone "Take This Job and Shove It." I answered, and it was one of my worker bees back in the store because he didn't have his house/car keys. Apparently he'd gone to the midnight showing of the new Batman movie with friends, they dumped him off afterward, and he couldn't get into his car and no one answered at home. He figured his keys were inside, so he went in, shut off the alarm, and looked for them. But, due to the time, the security company called him up and asked for his pin #, which he didn't have on him.

So then I got off the phone with him and the security company called me to let me know that they had dispatched the police. I said "fantastic" and they said "Well is he supposed to be there?" I said that he'd left his keys inside and needed them to go home, so they said "Do you want us to stop the police dispatch then?" YES. PLEASE.

So then back to bed at 4:15am. I eventually got up at 9:10, but I am still exhausted. Tommy went to get Little Guy from his mom's (he didn't want to come home last night) so I'm going to curl up with a book and possibly take a little nappy on the couch before they get back.

Thanks for all the prayers and happy thoughts for my grandma. My family and I really appreciate them all, and feel free to keep them flowin! Hope you all have a great day.

Just got back from the grocery store. I'm irate.

We were standing in line checking out. Calvin was playing with a little toy truck. There was a boy in line behind us. Calvin offered the little boy his truck...and the kid spit in his face and said "I don't want your toy".I was so appalled. The mom saw it and didn't say or do anything! I told her that I didn't appreciate her boy spitting in my kids face...and she said.."keep to yourself, you stupid white bi*ch". I was so stunned, I didn't know what to say. I've never been so embarrassed or upset in my entire life. Calvin was giving his toy to this little boy....and he gets spit on and I get called a b*tch? I told her that the profanity was unwarranted, especially around the kids and she just rolled her eyes and moved to another lane.

I dropped my cart off with the clerk, apologized for not being able to put it all back and left. I was so humiliated and red with anger. When I got to the car, I just broke down in tears.

I can't believe this kind of thing still happens. The entire world focuses on white on black racism...but what about black on white racism? I see it all the time down here, and nothing is ever done about it.

My favorite cat died, and I'm devastated. We called her Baby Girl... We have no idea what happened. I feel like it's my fault. She seemed healthy, she ran around and she even had kittens a couple of weeks ago.

The thing was, this was her 3rd litter of kittens. They have all died, and in this litter, there were 6, 4 died and 2 remain. We don't understand why that happened either. We were planning on taking her to the vet to get her fixed and to check her for tapeworms, because she was skinny and growled and snatched food from our plates (yes, literally!) and growled at the other cats over food. We thought maybe she was nutritionally deficient due to tapeworms but she seemed fine other than the skinny factor and we didn't have the extra cash to pay for a vet at the time so we hadn't brought her yet...

We had been gone pretty much all day, we were with his ex wife and her son, talking to a psychologist to evaluate all of us with the children we have now, (cause he's gonna go to court with them.) Before we had left, Baby Girl had vomited in the morning but she has done that before, the other day, so we didn't think anything of it. All the cats have done that from time to time. And one of the other cats ate it (yes I know that's gross, but she ate it before I could clean it) and she is fine. So I'm not sure if the cat was poisoned or not...

Before we left to go to the psychological evaluation, we heard wild thrashing about and furious scratching and whatnot in the front room, behind a desk. We thought it was Baby Girl either moving her kittens behind there and clearing out a path (she's had previous litters there) or just messing with stuff, as she was prone to do. So... we left, and we left her there to die and I'll never forget it. I know now what was really happening and I could have done something.

We didn't even realize until late at night that she was nowhere to be found, when her two kittens walked out of the closet mewing, no, SCREAMING in hunger. I took them around the house so she could come out of hiding but she wouldn't come, which BF thought was crazy, because she ALWAYS came to my call. That cat loved me more than anything... He looked in the backroom and I remembered the wild thrashing from earlier, went into the front room, looked behind the desk, saw her, called her name, she was so still and silent and I knew. I pretty much got frantic and started yelling "MY CAT IS DEAD, SOMETHING HAPPENED TO MY CAT!!!!" I wanted it to not be true. But when he pulled her out from behind there, he told me not to look and I did. And I'll never forget it.

I admit, I was so upset I was talking to her like she was still alive and petting her (yes, I washed my hands excessively afterwards.) But no doubt about it, she was dead... rigor mortis and I lifted her up to look in her face... nightmares. That wasn't my cat's face... not the cat I knew. Her head was bent up at a weird angle, not like she broke it or anything, but still.

WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAT???

I know she had tapeworms now after googling about it, but it doesn't kill cats. I just don't understand it. I posted a question about it on Yahoo Answers and a lot of the answerers said it was my fault and how horrible it was I hadn't brought her to a vet when we knew she was skinny, and etc, and I agree. I feel horrible. I loved that cat.

I took her two remaining kittens and put them with our other cat, who is a young and healthy mommy with healthy kittens, and they nursed briefly, and she hasn't hissed at them the way the black cat would hiss at her kittens, and earlier I saw her licking one, but I'm not sure she's taken over fully as the Mommy because just a few minutes ago, both of the kittens of the deceased cat were crying really loudly. We're going to get kitten formula and a bottle.

Does anyone have any idea of what the **** I did to my cat??? Could boric acid have killed her??? Today is a bleak day, and the weather matches my mood. It's rather appropriate, if depressing.

Hey Zeffryn... that woman was absurdly rude, and her kid was a brat! She was the b*tch, not you.

Oooh I would have slapped me a b*tch. It would have been onnnnn... I am not in the mood for any BS right now.

I agree that reverse racism exists, I have been called a white this and a white that before. At the same time however, I've had a good many black friends and they all love me despite the color of my skin. They do admit that many of their people are just as racist as whites and other races can be. Racism exists in all races, ethnicities, and countries. I am not sure why people don't place as much focus on 'reverse racism' as they do white on black racism, other than people are scared to because of past grievances, or something. I'm not sure.

I hate racism, in any color or form. Sorry that you were a victim of racism, Zeffryn, it's not a pretty thing. If that lady was in YOUR situation, and she had been called a black b*tch, I'm sure she wouldn't be feeling so good right now either! So why can't people think of how others would feel in that situation before they speak... Sigh. People! Hope your day is better.

Hope everyone else's day is better than mine... I hope you all have a awesome Friday.

Barb, I'm very glad for your son, that he has his Wiii..

And everybody else, hope your day is a good one.

Sidenote, if anyone thinks I'm being overly dramatic over my cat, I apologize, but I really loved that cat, I love all my cats and they're like my children... I am very attached to my animals. I love them all.

Weezle, it is great to hear that your grandmother is doing better. It's good news to hear on such a depressing day.

Oh my gosh, there's a lot of really sad stuff happening today. Zeff, I can't believe anyone would behave like that. I just don't know how I would react to that, but I think you handled the situation as well as you could have. Melanie, I am sorry to hear about your cat. Any number of things could have happened to her- internal parasites, a virus, feline HIV or lukemia, a heart attack. I'd take the kittens to the vet if you can- or contact your local Humane society for free or cheap resources. You should make sure the kittens haven't any illnesses.

Zeff - Wow. That stinks. Boy, attitudes like that really help progress society, doesn't it? And that little boy sounds like he'll be as bad or worse than his mom. Very sad.

Melanie - sorry about your cat. Nope, tapes don't kill. A lot of other things can, especially since all the kittens were dying. Good luck in finding an answer. Definately recommend bringing the kittens to your vet.

Everyone else - between work-out, lunch and work! Hope everyone is okay.

Me - yep. This morning off - able to get a good workout in, ran to the grocery store (freak, I can spend a lot of money fast!), ate lunch and checking out 3FC, then off to work. Boring day, huh? That's not a bad thing though .

Hi Zyn, Your right, if whites did that we'd be charged criminally, and are suppose to take it when its the other way around as you described. Down in Georgia I visited a few years ago and was appalled at the way the blacks behaved toward me! Mind you, my best best friend is black, her hubby is white with the most adorable children you can imagine! Six of them no less! Unfortunately I think we need new laws to protect the whites from the black racists! Corrupt I tell ya! Why can't people just see other people for that, another person, rather than "white, black, chinese, male, female"... Too bad we all aren't blind, then we'd see other's for who they are, not the color of their skin, or their looks! The world would be a much richer place!!!!!!

Mel, I had two cats, from 1993, had to put them both down earlier this y ear. One of them had seizures, the other a tumor, both very sic, one was 19 the other 17. When you described your dead cats face, and the hissing, It sounds to me like she had a stroke, of which there was NOTHING you nor the vet could of done!!!!! PLEASE know you did nothing wrong. As one who spent more than her share at the vet due to being scared, come to realize I spent money needlessly, many times there's nothing they can do! As for your cat losing other kittens, it sounds like she had some sort of illness. Drugs may or may not have helped with those other litters, but please, know , with the sounds of things she was just sick and, trust me, I cried for well over a week, and tears coming now thinking of my boys, she is no longer in pain. PLEASE TAKE COMFORT!!!!

Well, the interview today went well, then she asked what I was looking for in dollars, lets just say she's about ten K low! if she can find someone to do that job for that little, I question their ability. Anyway, I still have that 2nd interview on Monday! Thats one of the two I'm really hoping to get anyway!

Zeff - That's terrible! You are a better person than I am. I hope the rest of your weekend gets so much better.

Mel - I'm so sorry. I agree with the other gals, get the babies to the vet to make sure they're all right. You'd hate for the rest of the cats to get sick as well.

I honestly thought about running her down in my car when she walked out of the store.....but then thought my family would be better off if I didn't spend the next years in prison.

Mel- sorry about your kitty. I don't have any idea what could have caused it...I hate when animals die. I'm hoping that my little (well, big fat) Gary cat never dies. I don't know if DH and I could handle it.
