  • Morning, girls

Not much on my plan for today. I have to wrap gifts for my nieces and SIL who come in today. Cleaned the house yesterday. Ran out of steam for baking last night, so I'll finish this morning. I want to make some apple-almond scones and maybe some homemade cinnamon rolls.....I know I'm going a bit overboard, but I'll just give a sampling to MIL's house and keep the rest in the freezer.

DS is still sleeping - thankfully - he had a rough night last night. I think it is so sad that he is starting to get nightmares.

About to go throw on a pot of tea and make some hot cereal.
  • oy weezle... she sounds like a jerk... i'm sorry.
  • Weezle - she sounds horrible. As much as I dislike going to doctors, I hate NPs more.

You could do the responsible thing.....and just cancel the appointments
  • Good morning chicks, it's a beautiful sunny morning here, the humidity is not too high yet, and it's not too hot. I've finished my morning chores, and am sipping my coffee, listening to the quiet house and planning my food for the day, so it's a good day so far. I woke up crampy, which is a good thing, I'd like to get "things" out of the way before we hit the beach. We didn't get to the pool last night, so I think I'll knock off early this afternoon and go up there and I'll order the kids a pizza for dinner, so we can spend the evening.

Indi, sounds like you've had a very productive day! Do you sell the homeopathic supplies to the practicioners?
cat, busy weekends are good, as long as they're fun.
cottage, I think I'll take some sewing to the beach. I went through all my fabric and pulled some out to make aprons. I'm on an apron kick lately, for some reason. I'm going to make a bunch, give some as Christmas gifts, and donate the rest to the elementary school Christmas gift shop.
pearl, sounds like you enjoyed your quiet time.
loriann, hope you get everything done you want to before you go back to work.
    Have a great day Twynn!
Belle Mer, are you writing a book? IMHO I agree with you completely about this forum.
    Good morning Nessa!
Cyndi, enjoy your cool day and your bike ride. Congrats on the NSV!
Poor spotted weezle, I hope things clear up quickly.
Happy baking zeff. I do miss baking.
Steph, I love Brendan Fraser! He is such a cutie.
What a great way to start the day Gonna.

    Have a good one chicks!
  • Good morning ladies!!! Happy Tuesday!

Cottage - Enjoy your time with your family today.

Indigal - Hope the set up goes well today. Keep up the great work with the exercise.

Cyndi - Have a great day off with nothing to do but relax. How nice!

Cat - How fun that your friend got in touch and that you're going out. Sounds like it'll be a great time!

Belle Mer - Welcome to the daily chat. What kind of puppy do you have?

Twynnb - Have a lovely day cooking and such....and don't be to hard on the kids

    Nessa -

Pearlrose - Enjoy the solitude while it lasts.

Lori - So the empty nest concept is not what you thought it was going to be? I hope things get better in the future AND that one of those jobs pans out for you.

Stephanie - Brenden Fraser is SO CUTE!! And the movie that's out right now (Journey to the Center of the Earth) is supposed to be really good. Glad to hear you had fun at the races.

Gonnabe - Hope you're feeling better these days.

Weezle - Sorry that you had such a bad experience yesterday. I hope the spots clear up sooner than later.

Zeff - You were a crazy baker last night, reading from your post yesterday. Don't over do it....you don't want to be exhausted when family shows up.

Schmoodle - Glad to hear that the day is good so far.....let's hope it continues.

Me - Nothing much going on down here. Yesterday, after I went to the grocery store after work I noticed that my rear tire was going flat. So I headed to the tire store. We had to replace the tire. Bummer...right? Well, the bigger bummer is that we're planning on getting rid of the car this weekend. Bigger bummer. I didn't want to put ANY money into that thing, and I had to put a tire that cost 120.00. I was not happy, but what can you do? Oh well....today's a new day, I must look on the bright side that I saw the tire last night and was able to drive on it to the tire store, as opposed to not seeing it and having a totally flat tire this morning. That would have seriously sucked!
    Have a fantastic Tuesday, Ladies!!
    ENJOY!!!
  • Sounds like nice days all around. I'd much rather be home napping and baking and even cleaning! But alas...someone's got to make the money in our house. Despite the fact that I have NADA to do at work right now, which is really frustrating.

Weezle, I think I'd find another doctor. I never ever see a NP at my doctor's and he is amazing. I think I am spoiled for doctors for life. (Of course this is my PCP and not my OB, who of course is the only one I see right now.)

Indi, you want another dog? I could ship mine to India! LOL. He's such a squirt. I love him but I'm not sure how he will be with the baby.

    Hi to everyone else!

I am kind of ticked because I was supposed to have a video interview for online today for a project I am working on here. So I spent lots of time this morning wrestling my curly hair and putting on make-up and one of the only shirts I actually like right now. And when I got here it was changed for tomorrow. Grrrr.

We have a baby shower this afternoon--not for me--and I might go visit a coworker at lunch who had surgery. Exciting plans...
  • h-mac - SIL and her two kids aren't staying with us We are meeting them at the airport tonight at 8 (it is only a few blocks from our house) and then maybe getting some coffee....but other than that....not very stressful - well, unless MIL starts to get crazy...but doesn't that always happen?
  • Whew! So I'm sitting relaxing about 9 PM last night and the phone rings. The Hyper Pypers had a change of plans and would be here shortly after 11 to stay the night! (They were to come this afternoon to pick up Bailey.) I scurried around a bit and was ready when they arrived. (No ironed pillow cases and sheets.)

We all were in bed by midnight and up again at 6 with the doggage who were very excited to have people sleeping all over the house. We're just back from a food porn breakfast and they have taken off to do some shopping in Kingston. I put the four pork tenderloins back in the freezer as they won't be here for dinner.

The three dogs and I will spend the morning playing with the power washer. I am buying one for sure!

Hope your day is great. Now to go back and read all the posts I've missed.
  • Jessie - That's got to really suck!!! I'm sorry that you worked so hard and then it was for naught. I'm sure, however, that you look marvelous!!!

Ruth - I was wondering where you were. Glad things were just busy and all is ok. Enjoy your day with the Pypers
  • Fly-in for me, ladies. Budget meeting in an hour for next fiscal year. Cross your fingers for big raises!!!
  • To answer your questions.

    I have a Maltese puppy.

I am writing a novel. I have published one short story and hope to publish the novel someday. It is futuristic romantic suspense.

    Thanks for asking.
  • weezle - I was in the same situation with my blood pressure where it went down as I lost weight and I went off my meds. I've had to go back on one as the pressure went back up. In my case, I think it was more associated with exercise (and lack of it) than weight alone. I hope it gets figured out for you.

Brian and I ordered a Wii this morning! We found a package online at Gamestop that was a decent deal and the games with it are some that Brian is excited about. I still haven't found a Wii Fit but I'm sure I will eventually. I've got it set up with Sears where they will email me when they get one in stock and I can keep checking back with ToysRUs and some of the other places.

I wish I had time to reply to everyone but I just can't get on early enough.
  • Everybody seems to be off to a busy day!
I'm off to bed... made a yum! dessert... blended paneer, walnuts, 1 splenda packet and a bit of vanilla together in the small chopper. Yum!

Schmoodle, I live on an estate that is a charitable organization. We have a number of clinics which offer free medical care to the poorest of the poor, western medicine as well as Ayurvedic, Unani, Chinese, homeopathic, to name a few are used for different situations. So Homeopathic is just one part of it. Homeopathic medicines are very sensitive to cross contamination if not handled properly. So we've been given a room which will be the pharmacy for supplying the various dispensaries on our trust estate. It's all from donations, and given to those in need free of charge.

Well now I'm really ready for bed! G'nite!
    Have a great day everyone!
  • Hey Ladies!!

I'm still lurking around and still on Phase 1....yesterday was one week BACK on pH1 for me....I'm doing good so far...jst have been too busy to post!

I'm also exercising this time around....religiously!! Every morning and every night I'm doing the elliptical that's sitting in my bedroom!! Just got finished with a 30 minute routine on it....feels GREAT!!!! Also cut my grass this afternoon for an hour...so that was a workout in itself...especially since it's so flippin hot!!!

Anyhow...hope everyone had a great tuesday!!!
