Default Starting P2 on Monday advice Chickies?

So DH and I, and I'm sure there's others starting P2 tomorrow on the 5th. What are some suggestions for those who have already started and done Phase 2?
How quick, or slow should we take things? What should we jump into? What should we steer clear of? What helped you guys the most? What are some of the healthiest grains to enjoy? Any ratios for baking with flours that have no gluten?
Basically, anything that you guys think will help us newbies get through this, we're all ears (well..eyes)
Thank you very much!!!

Don't follow the menu plans in the book - they add too much too fast.
Aside from that, check out the FAQ Section, particularly this thread.

I am pretty new at this myself (I have been on P2 for about five weeks), so I'm not good for the technical advice. However, as a broad principle, I have found it really helpful to add the grains/fruits back in extremely gradually, especially if you only have twenty pounds or so to lose (as it looks like you do). At the moment, I have a grain for breakfast everyday, and *sometimes* a grain or starchy vegetable such as small sweet potato at night. I have only had a fruit a couple times, but plan on adding a daily one in soon. So, just start out slow and check to see if you are still losing before you continue to add more grains/fruits. Good luck, I'm sure you will do amazing!! These ladies are so full of good advice on this board!

The hard part is going to be balancing me and DH.. I have more to lose, and he's a guy... He'll drop and I'll go there gradually. I think I'm going to start him off with a grain each day and a fruit and for me the first week adding just a fruit serving at breakfast and then adding a grain each day the next week or so...
