Aw, Linda! She looks beautiful! The gown is just perfect!
Kim, you workaholic, you. Man, you got a lot done today!
I think I'm going to hit the sack early this evening. The house is cleaned up and the kiddos are asleep and I've had my shower and brushed and flossed. It'll be nice to have a long sleep!
Thank you all for your support. I know I should be eating healthy, but I don't have the time to do it. I'm not binging on anything. I'm eating each meal and smaller portions. But I'm not worrying about technicalities right now.
Once this is all over, we'll be getting back to our normal diet and start over....
I'm still in the numb phase. I'm doing what needs to get done and going, going going. I helped my sister make lasagna for dinner tonight while my mom and dad went around to find a funeral home, casket and plot.
It was a weird transition. We're used to our mom getting dinners ready and preparing food the the next day. Times have changed.
I miss my grandma. We were all very close. She was a great woman. I think i'll make a thread with a few pictures of her and my grandpa soon. Maybe later on in the week when things calm down.
thank you for your words of encouragement. Its much appreciated.
My DH is taking very good care of me and the family. He's helping me stay calm and get through this all. So is praying to God, he's keeping me calm and relaxed.
The friends we had over tonight to watch a movie just left.
I'm worried about my friend. Her marriage is about to be over. She is doing some things to her husband that I think are truly egregious. She told her husband that she would leave him if he filed for custody of his son (from a previous relationship) that isn't being treated well by his mom. What kind of person would do that? The kid is a sweetheart, and is only 5.
Anyway, I know she hardly ever eats and I think it's really taking its toll on her body. She looks very sallow, washed out, and has big dark circles under her eyes. She just doesn't look well.
I don't know how to approach the subject with her, and I think my husband is going to talk to her husband (his best friend) about maybe getting her some help. Depression and suicide run VERY heavily in her family, and I can tell that she is slipping away.
Other than that, hubs and I went to Target today to get a bunch of random stuff. They started selling 7th gen. stuff, so I picked up some laundry detergent. I usually use shaklee, but I needed some pronto. Got a nice cup of tea while we shopped. Found the "Feel and Learn" diapers on sale, a big big pack for 7 bucks. 70% off. I also found a couple cute tanks for cheap.
Got a much needed pedicure this afternoon, and cleaned up the house. Did some dishes and laundry and re-potted a few plants.
Coffee and the sunrise are all that's happening here right now. I had a great time with my friends and my ticker is definitely fibbing today! Back onto the Beach with leg irons!
It's overcast and much cooler today but still not raining (or worse) so I'm not going to complain I really need to get in the storage room anyway and nice weather would be too tempting. I have 3 or 4 bins of summer clothes that need to be taken out and donated somewhere. I have realized that absolutely nothing will fit anymore so everything needs to go. I'm also being brave and putting wool sweaters and turtlenecks away. I've decided it is spring and I'm not wearing those things until next fall!
Ruth - Sometimes having fun with friends is worth it How's your snow melting?
Hi just wanted to update everyone. I've been working a lot and have a day off today. I've broken the 220's. I lost nearly 5 lbs this week. The thyroid problem is helping that along I imagine but work's very physical and Ive been very strict too. 200 is my goal for the summer. My poor husband on the other hand has hit a major plateau and hasn't lost anything for the past month. Its good to see everyone still beaching
Good to see you, Spirit! Congratulations on your big loss!
I should find a pair of those leg iron chains for myself, Ruth. I overdid it a little yesterday with the eating, and we stayed up late last night sipping some really good spiced rum.
I'm in serious need of coffee!!!!!!! Next time I'm refusing to visit my DD until they get a coffee maker! I won't get my first cup until we get to church.
Cottage - I actually bring my own coffee and a melita when I go to my Mom's. She only has flavored decaf and there is no where within half an hour to get a decent cup of coffee. I've actually been desperate enough to drink 7-11 coffee when there (yes, I am a coffee snob).
Morning everyone! Quick post...I took the day off yesterday and have to make up the time.
We went to N.O. yesterday to see a friend I hadn't seen in 30 years. Went out to eat (I had grilled Tuna) and then were "bad" and hit my favorite pastry shop (and yes, I shared it!) I'm the one with the dark hair
The restaurant we went to is a typical "New Orleans neighborhood restaurant/bar" which has been around a long time. They rebuilt after the storm. One of those "secret places" that everyone knows about!
Need to get myself busy...hope you all have a fabulous day!

Good Sunday morning all! It looks sunny but with ominous clouds to the south (? - I'm terribly awful with direction) so I'm hoping the sun wins!
I'm feeling terrific this morning! I got my long run in yesterday so I got to sleep in today. We're about to make breakfast and then it's off to church and errands. Connor needs some new T-shirts for going to Florida, Kadyn needs sandals, we need snacks for the plane, I'm getting a pair of shoes I've been ogling for years because I've been so good this week, gotta pick up pictures of the kids from Penney's that I had taken two weeks ago...lots to do! Then back home to clean out the car and finish packing. The car leaves in two days and we leave in three!
TDI, glad to hear the family is banding together. Our continued prayers are with you!
Zeff, sorry to hear about your friend. I really have no advice, but I hope someone will jump in with words of wisdom. I'd take it to my knees.
Jen, great job on your loss! Glad the job is keeping you busy and out of trouble!
Cat, your outfit is adorable, and the picture of the toe ring made me laugh!
Ruth, I'm glad you had fun with the friends!
Morning, Karla! How was your birthday?
Cyndi, I'm sure the weather will listen to you and warm up now that you've put away the turtlenecks!
Linda, sorry about the no coffee situation! We don't drink coffee, but we do have a tea maker that can double as a coffee maker, so I always get something for guests. I love the smell of coffee, but can't stand the taste.
OK, I'd better get breakfast going or we won't make it to church on time. Have a great day!
Kara, glad you like the outfit...you know what makes it really great??? The skirt was my daughters!! She left it here to go to Goodwill. Now I can go shopping in my attic. I remember I was so jealous she could wear that little skirt and now it's mine. Thankyou, SB.
It's overcast and much cooler here this morning. I actually got up before 8AM, but DS requested pancakes and once I started cooking it turned into a cooking frenzy. Here's what I've got prepped for the week:
1 pan bean brownies
1 pan Nessa bars
hardboiled and deviled eggs
1 batch cold brew coffee concentrate
Veggie Soup is simmering
Tuna Tabouleh salad
Salsa chicken in the crockpot for dinner.
Whew, just started a load of dishes and a load of laundry, so time to sit and sip for a while. I bought the WATP 4 mile yesterday, so I may go give that a try in a few minutes, then hit the shower. The scale did not budge this week, but after 3 lbs. last week I will not complain. I'll keep the exercise up and see if anything happens next week!
Want to take the kids to the pool this afternoon, and visit my grandmother. Then we may meet some friends at a park, but we'll see if the weather cooperates.
You know, I had my chocolate bar last night, but once I finished eating it, I realized I didn't really taste it or enjoy it. I tried to eat it slow and pay attention, but maybe it wasn't great chocolate? Made me sad because I could have just not eaten it and not missed it at all...
Happy sewing today, Kim. I know what you mean about the weekends. I always start off with a huge to-do list and am always disappointed I don't get more stuff crossed off. I wanted to get into the yard work yesterday but never did. cottage, great choice on the dress. That raspberry color is perfect for her. And she looks very classic and beautiful. A lot of the prom dresses today are designed to let everything hang out! tdi, you are in my thoughts. I'm so glad to hear that DH is taking good care of you.
Hi spirit, glad everything is going well for you! 5 lbs. is amazing!
Morning Kara, zeff, and Karla.! Hope you guys have a great day! Cat, looks like a fun day! Hope you get a lot done today.
Hi Cyndi, think I may do some clothes sorting today too. I haven't found any of DS's summer stuff and he could have used a short sleeved shirt yesterday.
good morning everyone. Thanks for the thoughts. I finally slept the night YAY!... I'm still tired, but got lots to do. We'll see where I end up tonight. I wanted to do the 3K walk this weekend, but that kinda got shot out of the water....
But eh, such is life. Maybe I'll do it next weekend, just to do it
Anyhow, off to run errands be back later...
Alright I will try this again, I tried to send 2 post yesterday but they didn't make it to where they were suppose to.
Schmoodle could you tell me where do I find the recipe for Nessa's bars. I found the recipe for the roasted chickpeas I want to try for my dad but not for the other.
I am waiting to make bean brownies until I get off of phase one so I can use agave nectar. I thought a pan of brownies would be a nice reward if I make it through.
Hopefully this will go where it is suppose to. Will send it and then check in a little while to see if it makes it.
