Wow, what an eclectic assortment Shy! You reminded me of several older movies I like which led me to several others (gotta love Netflix). Thanks for the list!

Love Song for Bobby Long is my "latest" favorite even though it came out in '04.

wow, Shy, that is quite a list! I had to chuckle to see The Goofy Movie on there. I remember seeing it with DD1 many years ago.
I forgot about Ladyhawke! I definitely second that one - excellent movie. And I used to have a real thing for Rutger Hauer.

Akeelah and the Bee
Little Miss Sunshine
The Simpsons Movie
Shrek the Third
Evan Almighty
Lady in the Water
Pan's Labyrinth
Strangers on a Train

Some of our favorites (that we will both watch) are:
Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile

Great Topic!

For sports movies:
For the Love of the Game (Love Kevin Costner)
Rudy
Friday Night Lights
Eight Seconds
With the sports movies I get sick of seeing them everytime they come on so I buy them on DVD and DH usually doesn't watch them again!

Message In A Bottle is a good one but someone should have warned me about this one before I watched it!

For "just fun movies"
10 Things I Hate About You
Blast From the Past (Love Brendan Fraser)
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Notting Hill (Julia Roberts & Hugh Grant)

Anybody seen Sweeney Todd yet?
Kim, I share the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp love. Also my youngest DD. Every Halloween we have a movie night and watch Nightmare Before Christmas, and Corpse Bride. Year before last, she was the corpse bride. She says next year she wants to be Sally.

Oh, I just thought of another one we use to love. The Tale of Natty Gann - anybody remember that? It had a very young John Cusack.

Well, here's an update from our movie-watching adventures. We're returning Santa Clause: 3, Superbad, Constantine and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Here's my thoughts without spoilers:

Santa Clause was great, as usual. I was in the Christmas spirit, so the three "Santa Clauses" were my last three movies.

Superbad was definitely my DH's pick. I watched about the first ten minutes of it and had to leave - way to obscene with the language and inuendos for me. I heard him laugh a lot, so maybe it's just that I'm a prude. Hahaha!

Constantine was my pick and DH really didn't like it. I'm still on the fence about it. I admit that quite a bit of the movie was blasphemous, but I ignored it for Keanu Reeves.

Fantastic Four was DH's pick and I didn't even bother trying to watch it. I've only seen the first one and wasn't that impressed, so this didn't feel like my cup of tea. He said it was just "okay".

Next for me is Like Water for Chocolate, the Spanish version with English subtitles and a Leslie Sansone WATP dvd that I don't have. I just joined her walk club for a year and want to test drive some of the dvds before I buy more. (Although the walk club discount makes it a little more worth it to just buy without discretion.)

I'll be looking through all of your suggestions as we send other movies back. I'll probably get one movie and one workout dvd each time, so I'll let you know what I think of both!

Thanks again! ~Kim
