Default Thin Thursday Chat

Wow, look at me, I never got here first before!
The kids are off school today, so I got up early to get some work in before people start moving here. I've got five tasks to complete/finalize today and I am bound and determined to work until they are done, even if it means I'm up until midnight. I have lots of fun plans this weekend and I want to be able to enjoy them without worrying about next week.
Hope my hunger has abated today and I don't feel like gnawing my hand off like yesterday.
Good morning all you sleepyhead chicks!
Well, since I got up to work, not play on the computer, better get started!

Good morning, Schmoodle, thanks for getting us started today. I hope you get all your tasks done today!

I sure can't complain about this weather, it's just about perfect! And I can finally give the AC a rest, our electric bills have been through the roof!!!

After Curves, I plan to look through some of my crafts books to get ideas for Christmas projects. I'll be spending my evenings cross-stitching from here til the holidays.

Good morning everyone. The weather is starting to cool down here too. That means I can start walking the dog before it's dark.

Haven't felt very good the last few days. Head feels like it's a balloon, etc. Didn't sleep much last night. DH is gone, dog kept barking. We've had a rash of home invasions the last two weeks. One is our area of town Tue. morning. So, I kept getting up to see what the dog was barking at. She normally doesn't bark that much.

So... lots of coffee and try very hard to not eat off plan. (I always eat junk when I'm tired or stressed).

Otherwise good day. DH will be home this afternoon, so I can sleep tonight!!!

Schmoodle, I hope you finish the day with both hands intact. Can I pass you some of the hummus I have in the fridge? I always make too much. Good plan to get everything cleared up before the weekend.

Cottage, Christmas! Oy! I could pass you some unfinished craft projects when I pass the hummus. I have about six counted cross stitch thingies that are too much for my old eyes. Enjoy your browse.

Renee, I worry when my dogs bark too. There is always the reason. I hope you sleep better tonight. Your snowman ticker is making me think of winter and I just made a note to order some firewood.

Lucy had her first chemo treatment yesterday which is supposed to make her more comfortable. She gets another in three weeks. Don't worry about side effects too much - the dosage is very low. She may be tired, lose a bit of fur and have a digestive upset but the vet says likely not as she has age and her attitude on her side. My aim is to give her as good a time as possible until it's departure time. I'll try to stop going on and on about her.

Today I will finally get at the picture boards for the open house (Ontario Doors Open) at the Church this Saturday. Luckily I have tons of photos of the Church and congregation going back to the early 1900's. We are going to supply refreshments but Claire is looking after that - she's a real Betty Baker, worse than me! Saturday night we have a surprise birthday party for Claire so I'll have some cooking to do for that....veggie tray and some dim sum type starters.

Whoops! It's Thursday and time to tote the recycle stuff out to the road. I'm still in my robe but to heck with it!

Have a lovely day.

Morning Everyone...quick fly by here..running a little late getting ready for school. It's a weird day here outside...very hot and very "yellow" outside at sunrise. We are supposed to get some effects from Humberto this afternoon..nothing major, just a lot of rain. We had plans to go out and eat crabs this evening (my BD), but may have to cancel. We'll wait and see. I was planning on sneaking my bottle of "fake spray butter" into the restaurant to put on my crabs. I was thinking since it was a special occasion, I might just want to go completely off the deep end and have something like crawfish fettucine, but then when I thought about it, it doesn't sound all that good and would probably make me sick as a dog later on. ick.

Glad that Lucy is ok with her treatments, Ruth

Good morning all -

Also a quick post for me. I have an early appointment, with a full day after that. DH is out of town tonight, but istead of enjoying my alone time I have a political fundraiser to go to. Not my norm, but the man works at the College and we are supporting our own. Hopefully it will not be a long night and I can still find some time for a pot of tea and a book.

Have a great day!

morning chicks. My ticker is now true, can you see my head hanging in shame. Yesterday was a total OP day.

This is another quickie for me, I have decided to pre school my home kids and I have some research to do and I need to clean out my computer room a wee bit and set up my three little desks and get a chalk board or white board.

Do have a question though, need some advice, I have been so thirsty these last two days. I can't drink enough. My mouth is dry and feels like the syliva is being sucked out of me. But I have no other symptons. I am wondering if it could have anything to do with not drinking the diet coke, it has been a month now, I had switched to crystal lite but have not been drinking that for the last week, only tea and water? It is driving me crazy.

Ruth- you talk about Lucy as much as you want. Give her a pet and a scratch for me. I think about you guys all the time. Take care.

To the rest of you chicks have a great day. Wish I could post more but like Schmoodle I have a to do list I want done so I can enjoy the weekend. Take care chicks.

Ruth, I feel for you. My Chester has a mast cell tumor. Although at the moment since he's waking up at all hours of the morning and howling, he's not my favorite dog, I still feel sad for him. We're doing steroid eyedrops with a light chemo med in them...

Not much to say from the Beach here. I am so tired. Dog getting me up so early is starting to make me insane. I had a four hour meeting yesterday afternoon and it was BLECH!

Hi ladies, I wanted to drop in and let everyone know that today was one full week of Induction for me and I lost 5 lbs. I am ecstatically pleased and will continue to stay the full 2 weeks on induction. I would like to lose 5 more lbs. total to reach my secret goal of 135 lbs. (my old high school weight). I don't care if it takes me a yr. to lose this other 5 lbs., I just so want to see 135 again even if it's only for a few minutes. LOL.

Ruth, sorry to hear that your Lucy is sick. (I have a dog named Lucy also).
Jessie, sorry to hear of your dogs condition too. I love animals and can't stand it when my dogs or my cat are ill.

T.G.I.Almost Friday!!

Schmoodle: I love waking up early to get things done! It feels so refreshing, doesn't it? Hope you get all your tasks done!

Cottage: It's nice and cool here as well - we haven't used the A/C in about 2 weeks. That's been really nice. Hope you get a great workout in!

Renee: I'm the same way. If the furbabies are going crazy, I wanna know why! Hope you get some zzzzz's in tonight and here's some for all of that potential stress eating! (I love your snowman! Christmas is my favorite time of year and Snowmen are my favorite decor!)

Ruth: Still sending good thoughts to you and Lucy! Don't worry, you can talk about her as much or as little as you want! We understand!

Cat: Hope it's a great day!

Ally: I think it's great that you're getting out there and supporting a candidate you believe in. That's great! Hope it's a great evening for you!

LC: I have no idea on your thirst question. I've really never had that problem. Sorry. Hope you get all of your to-dos done!

Jessie: I hope today's a better day for you.

ME: Well, things are pretty good here. Work was pretty blech yesterday as I didn't get much sleep Tuesday night. I was out by 10 pm last night and I feel like I've caught up. But I'd still appreciate a cup of cawfee if you've got it! (Where IS Schatzi?!)

Tonight I need to work out and do 2 bible studies as I'm behind a day. Other than that, I'm just going to get some material lists together for my harvest/halloween crafts and my Christmas crafts. I'm hoping to head to the big city soon and want to have the list ready to go when we do!

Well, the Avon truck just showed up, so I'd better go get my orders together. Hope you're all having a wonderful day!

~Kim

Ruth, we want you to tell us how Lucy is doing, we care about her, too!

amasam, enjoy your fundraiser meeting!

LC, that's wonderful that you're going to do some pre-schooling. I've done the same with Audrey & Maggie. We have a teacher's store near us (Becker's) where I've found a lot of helpful workbooks and ideas. I don't know what's causing your dry mouth, but I'd talk to your dr. or pharmacist about it. It may be an underlying cause of something else. Best to check it out now.

Lily, CONGRATULATIONS on losing 5 lbs.!

Jessie, I hope your day gets better. Try to sneak in a nap this afternoon!

Kim, Looks like we're both in the crafting mode!

Curves is done and I've just put a meatloaf in the oven for Jake's supper. I have to work late again today, but HOORAY!, it's the last night of Polo!!! Jake is really getting tired of having to eat his dinner alone most nights. Okay, time for me to start looking through my crafts books for some projects.

Good Morning all and what a beautiful cool morning it is!

Schmoodle hope you keep the muchies away today, I know how frustrating that can be!

Cottage don't you just love turning the AC off and opening the windows? I love browsing craft books, I decided to teach myself to knit a couple of weeks ago and found a great buy on some yarn at Hobby Lobby. I am making pretty good progress on an blanket (after much tearing apart!).

Renee hope you get a good sleep tonight!

Ruth we don't mind you talking about Lucy if that is what makes you feel better!

Cat Hope you have a great birthday! Thought of you this morning looking at the storms path, glad you are only going to feel the rain.

LC No need to hang your head in shame, the important thing is you are back on track!

Ally, Jessie, Lilybelle and Kim have a great day!

Wow lots of people this morning! LOL Me same stuff different day! Just plugging along trying to stay positive, I just have to keep the frame of mind that I am only one person and can only do what I can do. Boss is going to have to deal with it and step up to the plate some (online poker can wait!).

Have a great day all!

Good Morning Chicks!

Like some of the others, I've got tons to do this morning before work also and just wanted to check in to say hello. Best wishes to all for dietary success, peace of mind and minimal hand-gnawing. AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
