Default Hi, new to South Beach, but not to dieting

Hi, my name is Lily. Some of you may already know me. I've been on the boards for about 2 yrs. I lost my weight doing Atkins and then maintained for over a yr. with Atkins and Calorie Counting. I'm now up a few lbs. according to my Dr.'s scale and he wants me to do SBD. I also have Insulin Resistance and take Glucophage every day. So, my Dr. wants me to use this Lower Glycemic woe for the long haul.

I'm now on day 5 of Phase 1 and I finished my book yesterday. It's new to me, so I may have a lot of questions when it comes time to add back in more carbs.

I know I probably shouldn't have weighed already, but the temptation was too great this morning. I'm down 3 lbs. to my ticker weight according to my home scale. My official W-I will be on Thursday.

Lilybelle! Glad to have you with us on the beach! Pull up a lounge chair and we'll wave the cabana boy over with a frothy drink!

Welcome! I've '"seen" you around the site, this is a great place to get all your questions answered about SB. We have a great set of beachers here to offer up support.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. My first question, what did everyone eat their Peanut Butter on during induction phase. I tried it on celery and really dont like the taste.

In the peanut butter cup! Recipe here: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40576
Also, right from the spoon - yum, I LOVE peanut butter
And, once I was stuck in an airport with only baby carrots and peanut butter, and I dipped the carrots and it was pretty good! Better check and make sure carrots are okay for ph1, I'm not sure.
I'll try and think of some more.

I also found I like it (pb) in plain yougurt with bit of splenda, especially since I wasn't a fan of just plain ole yogurt.

Right from the spoon, with a chaser of FF SF Cool Whip. I'd put the PB and Cool Whip into a small cup and try and fool myself into thinking it was ice cream.

Just thought of another - if you like Thai-style stuff, you could do a spicy peanut dipping sauce for beef or chicken. I've also heard of and wanted to try peanut butter soup, but I haven't yet.

Lilybelle, I've "seen" you around this site, too.

I occasionally have my peanutbutter as a dip for apple or pear slices, or melted a little in the microwave and poured over broccoli.

Welcome LB!! I'm all about the spoon of PB Maybe melt it and mix it with some SF FF Hot cocoa and ff/lf milk? I haven't tried them but there are some Ph1 muffin recipes that look good

Thanks everyone. I'm just eating it straight from the spoon now. I love PB . I have now done day 6 of SBD and my carb cravings are gone. I feel good. I'm back into my normal exercise routine. I don't care much for drinking water, but I'm forcing it down. It goes down pretty easy after my workout.
