Quickie this morning! I am on baking duty for Church and just realized the Old fashioned Raisin Cake I made yesterday will just not do! Yes, I had a wee sample. It didn't smell or look right. So I've pitched it and will throw together some squares that are foolproof. (We should start a Food Porn Recipe Thread!)

Lucy seemed herself this morning although still wheezing. After Church, we are off for our Girls' Weekend at the Farm and won't be back until Monday afternoon.

See y'all then!

Morning gals!

Indi Welcome back! We missed you.

Ruth I have a really good, although super decadent recipe for some bar cookies. They are super sinful, but so good!! Have fun today.

Barb Glad that you and Brian had fun- I always love it when I get a chance to really sit down and talk to other women. It really happens too infrequently as I feel we are always running around after our kids.

Megan You will get back on track tomorrow. I avoided everything at the birthday party and then we stopped at On the Border afterwards where I totally blew it...... stupid.

Me- Church, then home for more laundry and cleaning! I am also going to make a big pot of chili to have on hand for lunches this weekend. Dinner at the in-laws again, which makes two weekends in a row. I really wish I enjoyed those visits more than I do, but try to keep in perspective that it isn't all about me!

Gotta get some coffee and get people moving around here. Both girls need baths this morning....

Liannie: Eddie and the Cruisers, both I and II, are two of my favorite movies of all time. I LOVE the music. My husband and I own the videos and soundtracks. We get this hankering every once in awhile to watch one of them -- or both.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you here at the Beach. I will take some time to read through some of the messages and try to catch up with who you are and some things about you all.

I am off to the kitchen now to mix up a batch of Caramel Apples made with the sugar-free/fat-free butterscotch pudding. A friend served some at a scrapbooking event the other day and I am craving them now.

I am having a great weekend so far. Friday night we got rid of the kids courtesy of the grandparents and went book shopping at Wonderbook. I found a like-new copy of SB Quick and Easy cookbook, and also got a copy of Molly Katzen's Vegetable Heaven. The ball game last night was fun (although they lost) because the weather was so great, and the fireworks after were amazing.
This morning I pulled a box of too-small clothes from the attic and discovered I can fit into about 2/3 of them. So I've got lots of new-old stuff to wear now. Last night my friend told me I needed to go get new jeans because I've got load-butt. We spent a relaxing afternoon at the pool, although I didn't swim because the water was SO COLD. We just had the best dinner, spaghetti and meat sauce. I haven't had pasta in over 3 mos., because I didn't think I liked ww pasta, and was worried about self-control, but it was really good. And DH and the kids gobbled it down and nobody mentioned or complained that it was ww. DH was really happy because I guess he's really missed his pasta!

Karen, you will have to post that recipe for us! Sounds yum!
Have fun at the farm, Ruth.
missmess, I am in the same boat. I finished DS's dippin' dots last night, and I knew it was wrong every delicious bite. I did not go over calories though, and went to bed soon after, so I haven't suffered any cravings as a result.
Hi Kitty, glad to see you back! And Happy Birthday.
Hope you are feeling better soon, cottage.
Kiko and Barb,

Good Morning all! (Well for me anyways...) Good evening everyone else! Lol!
Thanks Schmoodle for the birthday wish! I'm having a small dinner party tonight catered by a dear friend. Tikat(Spicy Hot) Mutton, rice salad, apple pie and vanilla ice cream! Yummmm... This will be a planned splurge! But even on my planned splurges I'm pretty good.

Well my coffee water is boiling gotta go make my java fix. Have a great day!I'll share a virtual piece of apple pie for you each!

Kitty
