Ugh I'm freaking out. My hands have gotten worse and now they're swollen and burning so I can;t bend my fingers, on top of the itching. And I'm starting to have bladder control issues. I can't go to urgent care though because my insurance doesn't cover it for some INSANE reason. And the ER is $100 which I cannot afford to pay. I start my 32 hour train ride tomorrow and still have about 10 loads of laundry and cleaning and packing to do. My allergist only works on Tuesdays too.

My mom might make me go to the ER but she's not the one who has to pay for it... Ugh I'm freaking out. I do not have time for this...

Good morning all. Well, I did it - I finally broke through my plateau! I lost about 5lbs this weekend - so I'm feeling really good about that!

I hope everyone has a great day! I'm off to call several Dr.s to see about getting in to change some meds.

Morning all. Fly by. BFF is in ER in San Antonio for complications due to her kidneys (she's been on dialysis for 3 weeks now). Docs are stumped and aren't sure how they will be able to give her dialysis as her "super-vein" used for dialysis is what the problem is. They are discussing surgery right now. DH and I are leaving for SA at lunch and I will be there all week. He will return tomorrow or Wednesday morning. Please pray/send happy thoughts for her, the doctors and us and others travelling to be with her. Thanks a bunch. Love you all and appreciate your support.

Is she doing the dialysis that she can do it herself at home or does she have to go to a renal clinic? My dad has been on dialysis for 13 years now and has had many clogs in his veins. Hopefully your friend will other viens that can be used that can be reinforced so that they can move the site. With having to dialysis 3 times a week, the veins wears down after a while. I will certainly keep you and your BFF in my prayers. She is lucky to have you so close and be with her.

Thank you for your prayers. She does have to go to a renal clinic. The problem is that they believe her vein to be infected. They're unsure of how it's even happened, but are worried about blood poisoning and the like. She's on antibiotics right now and they are searching for alternative veins. She's clotted before, but it's never been anything like this. She said the pain is unbearable, but they can't give her anything due to the possibility of surgery.

charolastra - I'm worried about you. You don't want to be stuck on a train and end up with an emergency. You seem to be getting worse. Does your insurance have a medical helpline number for advise? I think you need to be seen by someone and they might be able to help you.

Kim - I will add her to my prayers along with all the ones from the prayer thread.

Me - I am so glad that my team lead is back at work today. It took quite awhile to get him updated with everything that went on while he was gone. I am secondary oncall this week and did have to deal with one outage today but we have a huge upgrade this weekend. I am really going to try to make it to the gym today. I NEED the exercise.

Last night I made the strawberry pie for our family. The store was out of cook and serve vanilla pudding so I used chocolate. I forgot to buy the strawberry jello so I used strawberry/kiwi and black cherry. It was very different that normal but it was really good. Looks funny though

Holy cow, so many people to reply to! Here goes....

Cottage: Sorry vacation is over. At least you enjoyed it though, right? Mine starts Saturday but it's not much of a vacation, as I'll be decluttering and organizing for garage sales.

Cat: Try to find some time to sit and relax today!

Hi Ruth (and Ruthless.) I had a few indulgences yesterday as well but tried to keep it to a minimum. I did manage to get all my water though, and had the strength to "hold it" for the two and a half hour drive home from Chicago. I really didn't want to stop....

Ally, have some with all the pizza and dessert! Good luck! Lately those two things have been calling my name.... At Food Fantasies I found an all organic/vegetarian pizza (Amy's brand) with whole wheat crust. I didn't look at the ingredients since I wasn't going to buy it just yet, but it sure looked good on the cover. I'm starting to salivate....

Kara, I'm with you. I love to go to the beach, and don't mind squishing the (dry) sand between my toes, but otherwise...... I'll just stay on my towel and shake it every few minutes so I don't get any sand stuck to me. Ick.

Stitch, I'm doing the toss/keep/sell thing starting Saturday with everything in my house. It's the reason I took off 8 days from work. I need to remember to get some large garbage bags, and I need to borrow a laundry rack from my MIL so I can start hanging up clothes that I'm selling.

LC, hope there's not too much thunder today. Have a wonderful day!

Kiko, good luck with preparing for school starting.

Sheila, enjoy the weather while it's nice. 94 today, 97 and sunny tomorrow. Never fails.... IL State Fair starts and we have a constant heat index of 115. Whew. Good thing I choose not to go to the fair. Farm animals, overpriced rides, a cow made of butter, lemon-shakeups, rednecks, and fried food on a stick. No thanks.

Pacer, that's awesome that you got all kinds of compliments! Now that you're home, you won't be tempted by all the tasty treats.

Betty, I hear ya on the shopping! I really can't afford to spend any money right now, but I don't have much of a winter wardrobe either. A few (now) oversized sweaters and some cords and that's about all I have. Not the most stylish of wardrobes. Great find on the skirt though!

Allie.... I think you know you need to go get checked out. Can't your doctor fit you in? If not, then you should probably go to the ER because it could potentially be something serious. Will pray for you.

Mare! Congrats on the weight loss!

Kim, praying for your BFF.

Barb, your strawberry pie sounds good! Glad you liked it!

OK whew. Now me. The good news is I lost 3 lbs last week. It's the all-stress diet. Well, not all of it is the all-stress diet but I guarantee part of it is. I've definitely been eating like I should and getting my calories.

Went up to Chicago for my Godson's birthday. (Most of you know I have two Molly's: Springfield Molly and Chicago Molly. Chicago Molly has two sons and is pregnant with a daughter, and Springfield Molly has one son. Chicago Molly's younger son is my Godson, and Springfield Molly's only son is my Godson. Slightly confusing, yes, I know.)

ANYHOO, I went to Chicago for Chicago Molly's son's birthday. He's 2. Was a nice time, but Chicago Molly is my Tastefully Simple Rep, and of course she made up all kinds of goodies for the party. I managed to stick with about a cup of honeydew, some fresh veggies, two chips with taco dip (lettuce, cheese, olives, tomatoes) on them, and a good amount of beer bread with full-fat dip. Dang. BUT, balanced it out when I got home by eating a big salad. I didn't gain so that's a plus. I was proud of myself because I didn't eat any cake or anything.

Things are about the same on the homefront. DH decided Saturday night that he wasn't going with me to Chicago. When I asked him why yesterday, he said "because I don't feel like spending 5 hours in the car." Ah. It's just my Godson that I have seen 6 times in his two years of life, and people who are like family to me. No biggie. I'll go by myself.

And I did. I don't mind the drive.... I actually kind of enjoy it. Don't like the gas prices.... but that's ok. Was worth it to see everybody. Hadn't seen a lot of those people since the kid was baptized two years ago.

That's my exciting weekend. Better get to work. Hope you all have a great day.

I was able to get in touch with my doctor and he seemed to know exactly what I was talking about and put me on methylprednisolone. He told me that will only bring the swelling and itching down though and there's nothing he can really do to make the actual blisters stop forming. And it's a pill so I'm still stuck slathering on aloe and cortizone. >.<

Did you tell the doc about your bathroom issue? Will the meds take care of that too? It was when you said that that I started to worry that it may be something more than just allergies.

I had a yo-yo weekend…..I lapsed on Saturday due to a mandatory glucose test, and I had to drink almost 100 grams of liquid sugar (YUCK), so Sunday I was back to day ONE of Phase 1. Here’s to the rest of my week staying on track….

How could I forget to mention my night last night???? So I got home from Chicago at 9, ate a salad, drank a bottle of water, and laid down on the couch. At 9:40 I decided I should lie down in bed to go to sleep. I was still awake at 11:46!

So then, I finally went to sleep and was SOUND asleep, then BLAMMO!!!!! I bolted straight up in bed with my arms straight out at my sides, leaning forward slightly, listening and trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I swear on everything good and holy that the first one made me initially think that we were under attack. The lightning and thunder happened at the same time. We lost power for 3 seconds, but just long enough to reset the clocks, so I got up, stumbled into the kitchen, looked at the cell phone, stumbled back into the bedroom, reset the clock to 3:40, then DH said "Will you bring me my cell so I can set the alarm?" Sure. Stumbled back into the kitchen, got his cell, and stumbled back to bed.

Then listened to some more KERBLOOEY's and it started to calm down, and then without even a kerboom? we lost power again. So finally I fell back asleep and at 4:45am, the power came back on. I know this because our printer resets itself every time the power comes back on, and it woke me up, scaring the everloving daylights out of me.

Fell back asleep, and woke up at 6:40 to the phone ringing 10 feet from me (apparently I didn't hear it) and DH answering because someone called in to work.

I want to go home and take a nap. Thought you all might find it slightly amusing though, because I had to laugh at myself the way I jumped up and was ready to fight the Jihad with the baseball bat I keep next to the bed as we were being bombed at 3:40am. Oy.

pretty funny, lisa. not a fun night! and i have to say, it sounds like your DH needs a kick in the behind, skunking out of chicago plans.

and alli, i had an employee once who had some crazy blistery things on her paws, it did not sound good, but she did not think it was allergies...are you sure that's the deal? i've got the allergies pretty bad, too, but it's my eyes that suffer. SO ITCHY!!!

And congrats to you, indy! and BBetty!

so can I tell you guys what happened today? I am a nanny, and I had the three kids (ages 2, 4 and 5) eating lunch outside. There's a bee flying around, but it was a big bumble bee, the kind that usually just buzz around the flowers, don't bother people, so I figured it would fly away. I look away for a second, and then the 4 yr old starts screaming bloody murder. The bee was on his lip!! So I go to him, flick the bee away, pick him up and bring him inside. I sit him down and ask if he'd been stung, or if he was just scared, he said he was stung. Then I hear the 5 year old scream, and the 2 yr old, and I head back out and see the SAME BEE on the 5 yr old's neck!! so i go to flick the bee off her and pick her up, and then the SAME BEE lands on my face and gets me on the nose!! I take her in and then go back out for the 2 yr old, who I had thought had made it unscathed, but found out later he, too, had been stung at some point in the whole chaos. So, obviously, we weren't all STUNG stung (my "sting" cleared up in 20 mins, it's fine now), but that bee was out to get us!! I mean, do they bite?? What the **** was that?? The 4-yr old's lip is all swollen. It was so scary!! I'm still freaked out. Yuk bugs.

As for the diet, I am starting to lose hope, here. I have been trying to be good, and for the most part I am, but I am not losing!! Ok, so, more water, less fat...I dont know. I just think it's so weird, how drastically my eating has changed and i am at a loss as to why i've gotten stuck. well, i'm just gonna keep at it...eating sugar again certainly won't help!

Slisette, to get over my plateaus, I used to have to drink extra water, eat extra veggies, and maybe get a serving of beans in daily. Don't ever lose hope!

Which phase are you on? You could be getting stuck for a number of reasons. If you stay on Ph1 too long, you stop losing after awhile. If you're on Ph2, you probably need to decrease your grain/fruit intake or even go back to Ph1 again for a week or so and once you're on Ph2, very slowly re-introduce the grains/fruits into your diet.

Are you keeping up on your Fitday? Different lifestyles work for different people (Weight Watchers, SBD, etc) but ultimately, if you burn more calories than you take in, you will lose weight. I'd check out how many calories you're eating. Also, if you're taking in too few, that'll get you stuck too.

Another question: have you pooped lately? Again, beans are good for that and SBD has been known to get a lot of us "stuck" in more ways than one.

Just some thoughts.

Slisette, what I did this past weekend to 'jump start' my plateau again, was add some fat and sugar to my diet for a few days. I try to keep the fat down to just what's naturally in foods, and don't add anything extra. I was on a plateau for just about 2 weeks, I had a regular cheese, bread... just ate like a 'normal' person for 4 or 5 days - just less, and then this morning, I realized that I had lost 5 lbs this weekend.

I'm back on my modified P1.5 now, and will see if I can maintain the loss.
