The Weekend At The Beach
:carrot: Saturday Morning!
I came downstairs this morning and my first thought was that someone ransacked the house during the night! I forgot what a teenager can do to a place! :fr: Jake just brought Carley down, and I've gotta go. Wouldn't ya know it? Have a great weekend, I'll try to get in later! |
I have a few years until teenager ransacking but I think my DH counts! He's been home for just a few days and the house is a wreck again! ;)
We're off to Six Flags (White Water) today to celebrate the end of summer for us. I'm seriously hoping there'll be a place to buy a healthy lunch. I'm packing in some good SBD snacks to stash in the locker. Have a great weekend chickies~ |
Hi all! Sorry I wasn't able to check in this morning with the end of the last chat. I woke up and it was threatening to downpour and so I figured it was better to get to the gym early before it really started to rain than to run through the rain and get soaked. I ended up having to walk in a thunderstorm anyway, but I had given myself enough time to get there without having to run, so I carried an umbrella and tried to not get hit by lightening (I succeeded!) AND got there early enough to run six miles on the treadmill before yoga class started! That made me happy because I missed my run yesterday.
Woke up this morning with NO hives! A couple popped back out after my run, but they're gone now. Yea! We went out to dinner tonight to a Korean restaurant and everything looked really good. It was fun! I had actually eaten before we left because there isn't much vegetarian fare here, but it turned out there was a tofu and kimchee dish on the menu so the next time we go, I'll get that. We had a great time chatting with friends and the kids mostly behaved themselves. Evidently, in Korea, it is commonplace to make lettuce wraps! The original South Beachers (except for the white sticky rice...). Linda, hope your house returns to normal before you get back. Nole's chick, I totally agree that husbands can trash a place along with the best of them! Mine doesn't do dishes or clean tables or sweep or make beds... Sometimes when I leave him with the kids for a few hours to go to the gym I come back to a huge disaster. It's almost not worth leaving the house! He always says, "At least the kids are alive!" Smarty. I think I'm going to hit the sack early tonight. I'm beat. Kara |
Cottage: I remember those days well..the dishes all over the kitchen even though the dishwasher was empty...grrrrr.
Noles: have fun at 6 flags!! Kara: so happy you are feeling better..hope you never see that rash again: Me: Man, oh man, did we have an "interesting" afternoon yesterday. We decide to have a "date" and go out to eat and go to the movies (too hot to do anything else!) So we went to a great Mexican restaurant. I was good and had a delicious mahi-mahi that was grilled with vegetables and I told them to leave the rice off the plate. After we finished eating, husband asked if there was an ATM so he could get some cash for the movies. There was one in there, so he got $40 and came back to the table and they brought the bill which was in the $30 range. So he gave them our card. A manager comes back a couple of minutes later and tells us "Sorry, it would not take the card and they want you to call them". Hmmm..well I knew there was $ in the account cause I had checked it earlier in the day to make sure my husband's check had been automatically deposited and it had been.I had made a deposit the day before also. Then I said that maybe because we were trying to use the card at "2 different places" (atm and restaurant) within a few minutes that it was a "safety" thing from the bank in case the card had been stolen. So we just paid with the cash Terry had just gotten from atm. We had about a 1/2 hour to kill before the movie started and there was a new decorating store that had just opened and it was on the way to the movies, so we went to go look. I found a bottle of lamp bergere "juice" and brought it to the counter to buy. The guy swiped my card (we had used my husband's at the restaurant)...so I enter my pin number and the machine said "thankyou" and then made a funny noise. The guy tried it two more times and both times it was declined. I was so embarrased. So we decide to go to the bank to find out exactly what the problem was. We got there and there was a huge line inside. We saw a few people that looked very mad. We finally found out that the bank's whole system had gone down. People had been at gas stations, grocery stores etc and their cards would not go through. One lady was there that had run out of diapers and couldn't get any and was livid.Apparently it had gone down seconds after Terry had used the ATM. Thank goodness he did, because we could not have paid for our meal...talk about embarresment!! I never carry checks or cash with me. We were able to get enough cash at the bank to go to the movies and for groceries today in case it didn't come back up. And the movie was great..No Reservations..go see it!! Afterwards we went to cold stone and I got a sinless "ice cream" with almonds...and the card worked once again... the guy there said they had the same thing happened to lots of other people there that afternoon...AFTER their ice cream order was done. Just goes to show how much we depend on computers for everything and it's very scary to have to do so. |
Cat, I carry a credit card and a debit card with me and hardly ever have dollar cash (although I carry won all the time in case I have to buy anything downtown!). I just got stuck at the beauty shop today when their computer went down and wouldn't take credit cards. I had to run to the BX and buy gum and get cash back and then go back to the beauty shop to pay for my pretty new pink toenails. We *do* depend on computers! Glad your date was great, though! I do like Robin Williams quite a lot (that's the new Robin Williams movie, right?), so I think I'll try to check that one out when it comes out on video. I'm not much of a movie theater person...too fidgety.
Kiko, I keep meaning to tell you that your new avatar picture is beautiful! Kara |
Kara, no it was with Catherine Zeta Jones and a restaurant. But we got to the movies just as the previews had started and there is a new Robin Williams movie coming out this fall and it looks really good...much kleenex will be needed for it. We don't go to the movies too often either and I really don't know why...we really enjoy going, but usually wait for them to come out on cable. Glad you could pay for your toenails!!!
|
Happy Saturday gals!
Cottage The ransacking of the house is a constant around here. I actually have a much harder time getting my house in order when I am home than when I am working. There are constantly toys strewn out everywhere. Kara Thank you! That picture is actually from November, but is one of the few pics of myself that I like. :) I am glad to hear that your rash is gone- I wonder what that was all about! Femme What a pain about the debit card! Until recently we never carried cash and only used the debit card. We are now on a cash only basis for groceries, gas, eating out, and "blow" money. We seem to spend a lot less when we are forking over actual cash..... it is interesting. Noles Hope you have luck finding something healthy to eat! I bet you can find a salad somewhere if need be. When do you go back to school? Me- DH is off for the weekend, although I am not sure what we are planning to do. There is plenty of work to accomplish around the house, so I would imagine we will stick close to home. I need to get through Abigail's room, closet, and dresser and figure out exactly what she has for school clothes. I have bought several new things, just need to see if there is anything else. She has made a paper chain to help count down the days... watch out kindergarten!!!!! I have had several eating slips the last few days and seriously need to pull in the reigns!! |
Awww! Abigail's starting kindergarten? That's so cute! My Connor should be starting kindergarten this year, too, but we're going to continue the homeschooling for now. Have fun going through the closets and drawers!
Kara |
Quickie this morning! I had a lovely peaceful day yesterday but am on the run again this morning. I was up early but couldn't get onto the Net - :(. I was ready to blast my ISP team and then realized I'd unplugged the line last night as there were t-storms around.
Gotta dash - Doug and Black Truck have just arrived to haul some barn stuff to the dump. I live in exciting times! |
Woo hoo! It's Saturday!
Cottage, my mom used to call it "Hurricane Teenager." Was it a category 5? Noles, have fun at Six Flags! And good luck finding something that's Beachy! Kara, I'm glad the hives went away. Any idea what might have triggered them? Femme, I'm glad you had a nice date despite the card troubles. I hope the bank gets it straightened out soon. Kiko, awww...Kindergarten! I'm glad that Abigail is excited. Will she be at the school where you teach? Me, trying to decide what to do today. I could either go to the annual rugby pig roast with BF or go to see some of the last horseraces of the season with friends from work/school. Either way, I'll have to pack lots of sunscreen and my own lunch! |
Have a good day, Ruth! I'm glad you figured out your computer troubles quickly!!!
Kara |
Missed you cross-posting Ruth. Have a great day!
|
Betty, I have no clue what triggered the hives. My dad thinks it was stress, which is quite likely. My face has been breaking out all over the place as well. So, my guess is either I'm finally coming through this slump with the scale and my body is working out some kind of weird demon or it's stress.
I was so excited to read about your interview results!!! When do you get the projects? Kara |
Ugghhh.... too many Diet 7 & 7's...... slight bump on the head today.
Just thought I'd check in real quick. Going to try to catch a nap before work to sleep off the bump. Hope you girls have a great day! |
Weezle, I've heard that taking something like a chewable pepcid helps with the "bumps." It at least works for red wine!
Kara, thanks! I should be getting my freelance projects sometime next week. :carrot: I think I've decided on ponies over a pig, so I'm off to find my wide-brimmed hats! |
Good afternoon chicks just a quickie to say hello before I leave for my camping trip. See ya all on monday night or tuesday morning.
|
Good morning chicks,
DH and I had a nice evening last night after we sent the kids to their grandparents. We couldn't get them out of the neighbor's pool, so they didn't go until 9. My neighbor came to get me this morning to walk and I was still asleep!:o I got dressed real quick and went walking. On the way we saw a yard sale that looked interesting, so I stopped by after I dropped her off, and ended up getting a sofa, a pretty yellow tall cabinet, and an antique bread dough tray for $50. The sofa was like new and DD loves it, so she'll take it to her college apartment. She wants the cabinet too, but I'm going to put it in DD2's room. The dough tray is looking great in my kitchen right now. I'm going to go with DD this afternoon to help move her into her apartment and get things set up. I just made dinner, since I'm not sure when I'll get back. Mediterranean Chicken, and I just tasted it - yum! I'll post the recipe later. Going to be a busy, hot day. DD lives on the 4th floor, no elevator, yuck! I skipped weigh-in this morning, since I had peeked yesterday, and it didn't look like I was going to show a loss this week. I'd rather just not know until next week. Denial, gotta love it! Weezle, feel better soon! Betty, enjoy the ponies, sounds fun! Kara, are you ready for your trip? Ruth, send them this way with the truck when you're done, I've got a bunch of stuff to go to the dump. Kiko, starting kindergarten is so exciting! Sounds like she can't wait to go. I pointed out to mine yesterday that they start back in three weeks, and they were not too excited. But I am! femme, I had something similar happen to me and it's so embarassing. And particularly aggravating when it's not your fault! Have a great time at 6 Flags, noleschick. I haven't done an amusement park with the kids in a while, something to think about. cottage, have a great weekend! Off to shower and pack some snacks for this afternoon. |
Betty, no pepcid around but I just chewed some Tums. Can't hurt right?
No sleeping this off. I can't go back to sleep. Big shock, I'm not sleeping. Plus, When Harry Met Sally is on, and that's one of my all-time favorite movies. I'm sad that I have to get in the shower in a few minutes. I'll have what she's having. I LOVE IT! Alright well time to shower. Hope you girls have a fabulous day. Lisa |
Just a quick jump in- but I fit into the Gap! Their biggest size jeans, but yay! I was NEVER able to do that before! Not that I bought any of course- who pays $60 for jeans? Oy. But just knowing that they fit helped me march back to my apartment with about 20 pounds of groceries rather than take the bus!

da-da-daaaaaaa <trumpets blare>
Well, I survived Six Flags! <sarcasm> I had a wonderfully delicious grilled chicken salad. It was chocked full of iceberg lettuce, a few pieces of grated cabbage, 4 cherry tomatoes, topped with a freshly (only 2 days or so ago) grilled chickenish breast. Even the light Italian dressing had high fructose corn syrup as its second ingredient! Such a wonderfully satisfying lunch and only cost $9.50! </sarcasm> Seriously, I was very proud of myself for resisting the fried foods, funnel cakes, nachos, ice creams... Dang, we really eat awfully here in America don't we? I'm planning on spending all day tomorrow planning out my meals so that everything is ready and portable for back to school! charolastra00, isn't it great to fit into stuff?? I can't wait to slip into some of my older clothes again! (And of course, buy new stuff!) |
Americans are awful when it comes to food. Here's something I got from our Zone VP as Friday's Food for Thought:
COMPASSIONATE LEADERSHIP Consider these sobering statistics: • Two of three Americans are overweight. • One child dies of hunger in the world every four seconds. To feed a starving child for a year costs roughly $200, about the same amount the average American spends each year on soft drinks. By simply passing up soda, Americans could cut child hunger by 75% worldwide. Leaders are responsible for leveraging their influence to serve others. When leaders use power for selfish benefit, we commonly refer to their “abuse” of power. Would it be a stretch to claim that Americans abuse their power by guzzling sodas when malnourished children are dying in slums? Now, it’s impractical to think that Americans would never spend another dollar for Pepsi or Coke, and it’s unreasonable to ask of them. However, when 65% of Americans are overweight, surely some changes can be made to cut consumption in the USA and give generously to those in poverty around the world. The list of the world’s ailments can be daunting—AIDS, starvation, water shortages, environmental contamination, etc. However, the affluence of Americans may be equal to the task, if only leaders would mobilize the resources within their grasp. Many are simply too lazy to contribute to social causes, or they refuse to let the world’s problems disrupt their comfort. Still others justify their inaction by citing the “drop in the bucket” mentality. However, with enough drops, a bucket gets full. Leaders are honor-bound to assist those in need. In the words of U2’s Bono, “In the Global Village, distance no longer decides who is your neighbor, and ‘Love thy neighbor’ is not advice, it’s a command.” In the age of globalization, we buy shoes made in China, shirts from India, oil from the Middle East, and diamonds from Africa. Is it just for children in those regions to suffer and starve while ours eat potato chips and play X-box? THE CHALLENGE How are you modeling compassionate leadership? To what causes are you lending your resources? How are you inspiring others to give generously to social causes? |
Hey ladies!
How are ya'll? I'm in the land between time right now. Ugh. I worked from 10:00pm to 6:00am last night, came home and slept for about 3 hours and decided to stay up for the day. Saturdays in the summer are so precious I hate to sleep them away.
They had a Scottish Festival in our town today in a park about 3 blocks from my house. I couldn't resist. I am a sucker for bagpipes and kilts! There were 5 piping bands competing, they were soooo gooooood! There closing ceremony was all of the bands marching in together and playing Amazing Grace. Wow, made my hair stand up on end. Such a treat! I have done so well with my eating all week, dh took my dd and I out to dinner and I had a talapia thing with steamed brocolli. It was awful! So I did have a handful of french fries off my dd plate, but I'm OK with that. It tasted OK and I was able to stop. That's a NSV for me. Well, I've got a book I'm into so I'm off. Everyone sounds like their weekend is pretty packed. Hope you get to enjoy the sun, just think.......in 4 short months we'll be singing Santa songs!:clause: |
Weezle
That was inspiring. Where did you get the article?
|
RN, it was an email from my Zone Vice President. Not sure where he got it but I thought it was good. Makes me think of what I could give up that's unhealthy and then have money for something like Compassion International or something (www.compassion.com)
Maybe if I only went out socializing one day a week instead of two.... That would give me a little extra to give. |
Good evening ladies. Just back from moving furniture and shopping for apartment stuff with DD. DD put my snacks in the refrigerator at her apartment and didn't tell me, so I left them there. On the way home I was starving, so I was REALLY glad dinner was ready when I got home. Mediterannean Chicken was a winner with DH and 2 out of 3 kids. I'm going to go post the recipe. While in Target, I thought I was going to pass out, so I bought a box of the SBD snack bars, peanut butter and chocolate. It was GOOOOD. So good that I'm now afraid to bring them in the house, they're still out in the car. Going to try to get some paperwork done this evening and then go to bed at a reasonable hour and read for a while.
RNMom, I love bagpipes too, I think it must be genetic, my mom's side is Scottish. Holiday season in 4 months, that's a scary thought! I usually have a good jump on the shopping by now, but not this year... Too little time and no money. Great NSV charolastra! |
Lisa, I've been sponsoring a child through Compassion International for ten years now. I keep her picure on the fridge and the kids love seeing her letters!
Allie, great job on your loss! Maybe you can find some Gap jeans on E-bay? RN, I also love bagpipes! I bet the festival was a blast. Megan, going to Scotland on your honeymoon is so cool! Where are you going? I had a chance to go to Edinburgh when I spent a semester in London and I loved it, but Tom's dad and step-mom just went and they did not like it there. Might have been a difference in perspective between my broke-college eyes and their on-vacation-wanting-to-be-pampered eyes. I loved the scenery and had a blast learning all the history, and thought the hostel was more than tolerable. Schmoodle, sorry about your snack incident! I will respectfully disregard your comment about the snack bars. I have a weakness for granola bars, and especially ones with peanut butter and chocolate!!! Time to get ready for church. I had planned to pack for our trip last night but we ended up going out to dinner with friends instead so I *have* to get it done today because we're leaving the house at 5:00 TOMORROW MORNING! AHHHHH!!!!! I stopped by the store yesterday and picked up a new book for each of the kids and The Polar Express on DVD for them. Today we'll stop at the commissary on the way home from church and get some snacks for the trip. I can't believe it's already time to leave! Yikes!!! Off to grab some breakfast. Kara |
I just recently bought a "gift set" of Emeril's spices for myself, and I must say that I love them. I got the Original Essance, Garlic Parmesan, Bayou something or other, and Salad Seasoning.
Tonight for dinner I had broccoli over ww couscous with the garlic parmesan seasoning and olive oil. Oh boy was it good!!!!! I'm SO FULL! I feel like I should be moo'ing but it was totally ok to eat. Just thought I'd share. Anyone else have Emeril's seasonings? |
Kara, most importantly, have a safe trip! But on a whole different note- where did you study abroad? I'm trying to scope out my options but NONE of my friends in England went to school remotely near London! So they can't give me any advice. I'd sell a kidney to get into London School of Economics, but since that's not possible I'm probably not going to get in. But never say never!
Does Emril's seasoning have salt in it? My roommate last year was good for nothing EXCEPT she got me hooked on salt free seasoning blends. I think it was Mrs. Dash but I've never seen that brand here. I tossed hers on EVERYTHING from salads to cafeteria food. We even brought a few blends into the all you can eat cafeteria... |
Hey, Allie, if you sell a kidney you've got to lose at least ten pounds from it being out of your body...not a bad deal all around...you think they take human organs as tuition? Seriously, though, I attended Thames Valley University. It was not the most challenging school, and I was a little frustrated about that at first (I'm a big nerd and actually like to study!) but it ended up being good because I had more free time that I could use to travel and such. I loved it there, and it was so much cheaper than my out-of-state-at-a-state-school tuition that I could cancel my loan for the semester.
We ALWAYS keep Mrs. Dash in the cupboard! I also am in love with the new McCormick's pepper grinders! The garlic pepper one is SO good! Goes on everything here. Thanks for sharing the tip about the Emeril's seasonings, Lisa! I am stressing about this trip and I just want to eat, eat, eat. What is it about stress that makes me want to stuff my face with junk? Doesn't make sense. I've not given in, but it's hard. The kids' stuff is mostly laid out and I'm waiting on Avery to wake up so I can pack my things and the rest of hers. We're down to twelve hours until we leave the house! Kara |
Alright chickies. We're packed and the bags are by the door ready to go. Nine hours until we head out! I don't know how often I'll be able to check in while we're back home, but I'll try my best. I'll post pics of the wedding when I get them up on my computer!
Kara |
Kara, if you're still checking in, have a safe trip! I'll think of you, being within an hour away from me, instead of clear across the world!
It's been busy around here, with both a 17 year old and a 2 yr old! Caitlyn is a lot of help, but she's been hogging my computer! She and Carley are both still sleeping this morning, so I'm taking advantage of the time to get online. It's supposed to be a tad cooler today, yesterday was almost unbearable. We spent a good bit of the day in the pool, and Carley is starting to swim without assistance. She and Amber had a blast swimming around like little otters. We don't have anything planned for today, probably just another day spent in the pool again. I'm going to go mix up some ww pancakes for when the girls get up. Jake is wanting to wake them up now so we can go for our usual Cracker Barrel date, but I told him to let them sleep. He can go by himself if he wants. |
good morning chickens,
I'm waiting to see if my neighbor turns up for our walk, but we didn't discuss it yesterday and she goes to church on Sundays, so I won't be surprised if she doesn't turn up. In the meantime, I've put in some laundry, watered my tomato plants, and taken a peek at the scale - happy to see I'm back where I started from a week ago. I think that little rise must have been because I started walking last week and it was making me retain water or something, right? We'll go with that. I'll be happy to see any loss at all by next Saturday. I'm going to try and catch up on some work today. The kids have been anxious to see the Simpsons movie, so maybe we'll catch that this afternoon. Otherwise, nothing exciting happening around here, and I like it that way! Have a great trip Kara! I'm a Mrs. Dash fan, but I haven't tried any of these others. I'm having so much fun trying all these new recipes and flavors. I guess I was really stuck in a cooking rut before. |
Have a safe trip Kara!
|
Good morning from gloriously sunny Delta! Hershey and I are just back from Church where she managed to officially get some of the coffee treats - gingerbread this time. Lucy is still wheezing so I left her home and will take her back to the vet this week. I think I've caught her "plague" as I'm wheezing too!
Today is a "niggles" day with fridge clean-out, some cutting back of perennials, the making of a cucumber/yogurt soup and a late afternoon visit to Harry. My knee seems to be recovering so I'll be back at the gym tomorrow morning. It'll be nice to get life back on schedule after the past two hectic weeks. Stay cool and take some "me" time. |
Hi girls!
Emeril's seasonings have salt, but they're SO GOOD! I used to sell Pampered Chef, so I have all their seasonings too. And I might be a Tastefully Simple addict, so I have all of those, too! Oy. Two weird things to be addicted to: cooking spices and lipgloss. Weird.... It's just that I love to cook now. I used to NEVER cook, but it's so much better for you than eating something processed. I do indulge in the occasional (once every two weeks) Lean Cuisine Spinich and Mushroom Frozen Pizza, but gosh darn it it's so good. Ruthie, glad that knee is getting better! You take some "me" time today, too, after all the work you're doing! As for me, there's a 30% chance of rain today but I don't care! I'm going swimming! It's a high of 94 and it's been hotter than  for days now, so that pool is going to feel SO GOOD. YAY! I love swimming...... Everyone else, have a glorious Sunday! Lisa |
KARA HAVE A GOOD TRIP!!!!!
HI Gals, Well today was weigh day....I'm down 3.8 lbs! thats nearly 24 lbs in 40 days! I wasn't sure what the scale gods were going to do this week. The previous week I gained a 1/2 lb...I'm doing a happy dance now! Well I had a grueling day, working in the theater. I was cleaning the costume room out and discovered that a rat had been locked in a cuppoard full of clothes.... I found the mama, and 4 baby rats...mama & 2 babys were dead, 2 were still alive. Ugh!!! I have been dealing with cleaning the cuppoard and getting several hundred cloth items ready to be washed...Got a big job ahead...argh! At least I got the good news before the bad! Well I'm exhausted and off to bed now. Hope everyone continues to have a good weekend! |
Indi Congratulations on your weight loss! That is fantastic!! :encore:
Lisa Enjoy the pool! We may head over to my mom's community pool after naps today. It is pretty out here today, so it would feel lovely. :swim: Kara Safe travels! I am looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing all about it. Ruth Good luck accomplishing all of your "niggles"- I love that term! Cottage My kids love the pool- I also love how worn out they are when we are done! Megan is pretty cautious about the water and doesn't venture too much. Abigail is a little fish in the water- she loves it! Me- Home from church, we have all been fed. I am planning on a nap myself! DH has been home this weekend and we have had a great time- stayed up late the last two nights watching movies and talking. It has been good!! I also got this overwhelming feeling today at church that things well be okay. It was extremely comforting. Anyhow, need to get the wee one down, then I am curling up with a book to read and snnoze. |
I just found some really neat software (but if it conflicts with this site I can understand if this is deleted) It's called ShopNcook. I was looking for a printable shopping list when I ran across it. I usually just keep a text doc on my desktop and add it when I need to add something to my shopping list, but it is usually not organized by category..meat, fruit, shampoo stuff etc, so I end up going back and forth in the store cause I skip things going up and down the aisles. This program has a very organized, detailed shopping list you save and print out. But the bonus is that it has a recipe program in it where you can paste in recipes or download them or enter your own and it will figure out the nutrional value of what you put in. They have trial download that I played with for a couple of days before I bought it. Not pushing it, but thought if anyone else is as anal as I am, you might be interested in it. They have a section for diabetic recipes that looks pretty good..SB type stuff.
|
Kiko, I'm so relieved that things are starting to turn around for you! I hope they just keep getting better and better.
Do you find the hot, humid weather makes your knees ache more, Ruth? I've noticed my shoulder and arm throb in this heat. Take care, and have a nice restful day today. Weezle, I really like the Pampered Chef seasonings. I stocked up on them when my sis-in-law was a consultant, and I'm going to have to find someone now so I can re-stock. I like a lot of the Mrs. Dash seasonings, too. I've been considering having a Tastefully Simple party, but heard they're pretty costly. Is that true? I sampled several of their dips at a crafts show, and loved them. Indi, :woohoo: That's an amazing record! Keep it up, and you'll be at your goal in no time! Schmoodle, I can't wait to try your chicken recipe, it's on the menu for later this week. Hope you enjoy the movie! B Betty, have a wonderful Sunday afternoon! |
I've done a goodly number of niggles and am avoiding the urge to take a nap! It's really hot outside and my flowerboxes are wilting so I'll tend those poor babies. After that I'll go visit Harry and take him his Sunday afternoon beer! Hershey will be the dog visitor again today as I don't want him fretting over Miss Lucy and her wheeze.
If it's cool enough later, I'll get at the deadheading. I just picked a huge pot of green beans, a 4 quart basket of cherry tomatoes and some yellow and green zucchini! The season is finally here! No excuse not to eat those veggies this time of year. Have a great afternoon or evening, Indi, or sleep, Kara! |
