Default Memorial Day Monday!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

We're in for more thunderstorms today, but I'm hoping it'll be dry long enough for everyone to enjoy the pool. Amber has the honor of being the first person in the pool this year, and she stayed in until her lips turned blue!
We're having the whole family at our place for a cookout this afternoon, and I'm all ready. The house is shiny clean and the fridge is full. The only thing I have left to do is make a pot of baked beans, I'll get that started soon.

Eating has been a disaster all weekend, tomorrow I'm getting back on the wagon with a vengeance! It's been mostly SB foods, just way, way too much! I haven't stepped on the scale, and I'm hoping maybe I worked it off with all the gardening I've been doing! I've been busy sewing Audrey's lion costume for her school play, too, and it's almost finished, thank goodness!

So, what're your plans for today?

Default Memorial Day Monday Chat - May 28

Good morning and let's start off with a coffee. The weather looks good for this side of the continent anyhow. Nice timing for the first long weekend of the summer season.

I'm getting back on schedule this morning with a trip to the gym for 7:30. ;tread: I have been remiss the past two weeks because of all the stuff going on around here but today is IT! There are still a few odds and ends to finish in the kitchen but the end is in sight and I can now actually use the kitchen.

I'll work in some badly needed gardening this afternoon and also need to bake something to thank the guys for the extra push they've put on to get my reno finished. They'll be back for tile grouting and some moulding replacement. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar and I have been calm and nice through all this despite delays.

Are you BBQing today? I'll be sniffing southward later today and bet I'll be able to smell it wafting across the St. Lawrence.

Enjoy your Monday!

at Cottage! Your day sounds full but wonderful. Baked beans! I love them and must make some now that I have my kitchen back. On the other hand, if I left now, I could be there shortly after noon and try yours.
I'd also be able to enjoy the Memorial Day traffic so forget it!

I'm off for a thrilling breakfast and then the gym.

Good Morning All,

I am at work, we are finishing the last week of school and giving exams--I left everyone in my family at home. We voted to come to school today and finish up exams, rather than have a long week. Oh well, it will soon be over for 06-07.

Diet wise, I am hoping to get through Phase I and learn Phase II eating over the summer.

Have to scoot--students need me.

yumm I think I will make some coffee too!

Today I have to take the kids over to mother in laws house. I think we are going to bbq. I am still on phase 1 so I don't know how much of that stuff I can eat. They usualy do hotdogs and burgers. Not lean meat burgers eaither. I might just pack a salad to take with me.

I have wanted to eat so much. But a piece of gum gets rid of that. I wonder why I want to chew all the time.

I'm with Wanda, stuck at school leaving my family at home tucked into bed. Very few children at school today... most teachers only have 4-6 kids in each classs since the children get off 1/2 today and tomorrow (which is the last day for them) I have all of my computers cleaned up and shut down, the class is immaculate and am just playing on net for a bit before shutting down this computer and unplugging everything for the summer. Since I teach computer lab, I have no students and am heading out in a bit to go sit with other teachers at recess which will probably be extended so kids can play games, blow bubbles and generally enjoy themselves.

I'm heading home at noon...I just realized today is my wedding anniversary. Since it always hits around the last day of school both my husband and I tend to forget it. We gave each other a sugar kettle with solar fountain planted with water hyacinths a couple of months ago, so I guess for a present we can just go outside and just stare at it! Yesterday evening, I grilled salmon and fixed black beans with leeks and stir fried some summer squash with peppers, and caprese salad...I cooked enough for an army because I didn't know who would show up to eat, so my husband and I can just have leftovers since I don't think any of our kids are going to show up for food today. My daughter is at work in New Orleans, oldest son is headed down the river with friends and youngest is taking his girlfriend to the beach in Biloxi. Should be a nice quiet day at home to putter

It's been raining off and on all weekend and today looks to be the same. I'm planning on heading out to the warehouse today to try to scrub paint off the tables. I don't know why the Webelos staff last year thought it was acceptable to let the boys paint all over 4 of the brand new tables. I got 900 flyers ready to go for the egg drop. We want to hand them out twice during the week so that is enough for more than 450 (since the Tigers won't be there on Monday to get them). I STILL need stuff for the book and the Health & Safety guy wants to check it again once I have the missing stuff so I've got to work on that. Mostly I just need copies of peoples certification cards.

Eating has not been great. I'm just going to do my best until camp is over in a couple of weeks and then plan to get back strictly OP.

It's nice-ish here today but getting cloudy. My brother just fired up the grill so I'm looking forward to some steak tonight. I was in charge of sides since my parents have no idea (nor really care) what I'm allowed to eat, so if I wanted anything other than peas, mashed potatoes, and baked beans, I have to make it for myself! I'm planning on introducing my family to the wonders of spaghetti squash tonight- wish me luck!

Send some of your rain down here! Georgia is in major drought mode!

Hi. Saw the coffee and had to laugh - just had a cup for the evening. Marched in our Memorial Day Parade with my scout kids. Always a great time. Vets made my eyes water as did the Warthog planes. Worry all the time about our armed forces.

Anyway...we had nice weather all weekend - absolutely beautiful.

Enjoy the week. Sue
