browneyedgirl: No, I'm not from Hawaii. Just a Disney fanatic. But I would LOVE to go to Hawaii one day! And Tahiti. I have kids, and I'd love to partner up with you and be cheering buddies! I have about 60 pounds to lose. It's weird, because it seems like such a lot. I don't "feel" that fat. Yet, the numbers on the scale say I have to lose that much! I won't be on phase 2 until May 15, but even then, I think I may be really hard on myself for the first week and just limit my food to phase 2 only one meal a day. Phase 1 seems to work. I'll add some fruits and very little whole wheat. But I don't like the idea of falling in love with the foods on phase 2 and then my diet goes out the window. How are you doing with exercise? I try to ride my bike at least 3 times a week and if it ever stops raining here, I'd like to walk a few days a week too. My husband was in the military too, I know how hard it can be. Hang in there. Do you have friends that live nearby? One thing with the military I noticed, friends are easy to come by because everyone's in the same boat. Everyone seems to be family, no matter how long you've known them.
Robyn: I hope you did well going out to eat. My husband's birthday is on Wednesday, and we're taking him out on Friday night to eat. I promised myself I'd let myself cheat a little (have small piece of cake, phase2 type food). But I'm not going to fall completely away. You know, the longer I go into phase 1, the easier it gets. The first three days were hard, but by day four, I don't feel any hungrier than when I was on my normal junk food diet. Sure, I get hungry right before meal times, but I don't get hungry right after I have eaten, either. Spaghetti squash is my best friend. And taco soup (without the tortilla chips). Yesterday, we had tacos. I put my taco fillings into a piece of lettuce. It was quite good.
