Default Willpower Dust Wednesday Chat - April 11

Do you think that's enough to get us started?

I was thinking of calling it "Woe Is Me Wednesday" because I got some bad news last night: my well is contaminated! It's a plain old bacterial contamination rather than the dreaded e.coli but stilll.... I need to call the Health Unit this morning to see where I go from here. Somehow I think it will have to be dug up again to be fixed. The other option would be a new well and I can find better things to do with $10-$15K!!!!!

Anyhow, the sunrise looks great, the dogs are happy, spring is coming and so is Donna to clean! Time to schlep the trash out to the road and listen to the cardinal singing for a while.

What's happening at your beach towel today?

Need more?

WHEW! With all that WILLPOWER DUST floating around, staying OP today will be a breeze!
Ruth, I was getting ready to ask about your water test, that's a shame that it is contaminated. But aren't you glad that you did have it tested? Think of the repercussions if you had kept on drinking it! Mom & Dad had to have an infrared light put into theirs that somehow keeps it safe to drink, I think it cost them around $5000. Was that the cause of your malaise?

Before I left for Curves this morning I had to defrost a thick coating of frost from my windshield, so it's still pretty cold here, too. We may try to get outside for a while this afternoon though, it's supposed to warm up to 55*. Nothing interesting or exciting happening here today, just a regular day in the life. What's happening on your part of the beach?

Schatzi, the darn well head is buried in my lane and will have to be dug up again, I'm afraid before we can do any chemical treatment! I am trying to be brave but....... I am just glad I switched to bottled water the minute the water tasted strange. I wonder how much of the bad stuff I drank before that though.

there, Schatzi! We were posting in tandem! That storm that you're talking about is supposed to hit us tonight. As long as there's no snow, I can deal with it.

Good Morning Chicks,

Another wonderful hump day (note sacasm)! I have so much work to get done today. Had weigh in last night and I am down another 4! Very happy with that! I did eat a piece of carrot cake last night...I was roped in. One of my volunteers brought it and I didn't want her to feel bad...even though every piece got scarfed down and people wanted more. I was only trying to be nice

Ruth--I hate to hear about your well. When I was kid, before my parents go a well drilled, we had a spring. Our water started stinking and tasting funny and my Dad went up and looked and there was a dead bunny in it. That was the very day they called the well drilling man. haha

Schatzi--I love chickadees--they are so cute and fat. I am loving the cheer! OP OP OP

Cottage--I am so sick of this cold weather...killed all my tulips

Well chicks have a VONDERFUL day!

Hi all -

Ruth I'm sorry to hear about your water situation. Good thing you switched to bottled!

Schatzi Thanks for the cheer! I need some good OP mojo today!

Mornin' Cottage and Sunnybunny

Me Well, I am now officially unemployed. But I feel good about it. I'm going to take the rest of the week 'off' and just have a little me time, straighten up the house, and get things organized. But starting Monday, I'm on the job hunt!

There's not much on today's agenda. I'm running to my cable provider's office to get a new remote. I have an interview @ 3. I think I'll make chili for lunch.

I hope everyone has a great day. I'll pop back in later, taters (sorry, Schatzers...I'm stealin' your material)

Hi ladies, I have never posted on your chat before, so I wanted to stop in and say Hi!

Ruth I hope you water situation ends up being much less $$ than you think!!

Cottage, you had frost, we are getting SNOW, ugh! Maybe up to 10 inches! Mother Nature knows it is April, right?

Sunnybunny, great job on the 4 pounds!!

I am in the middle of week 2 of phase one. I am still at the same weight as I was on Saturday (I know I need to stay off the scale) and have only lost 4.5 pounds so far. The only "cheating" I do is I have had regular cheddar cheese (not LF or FF) but I do measure out a 1/4 cup and don't have it often...and when I have almonds I usually have an oz and not 15, but don't have them every day. Any thoughts or suggestions?? Thanks and have a great Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday morning, everybody!

Things went OK yesterday. My eating wasn't all OP, but not too off. I did work out for the first time in WEEKS! (Honestly, it may have been months, but my body felt like its been years!) It felt good to just get off the couch and do it. I'm going to try and do the same dvd every day until my WATP dvds come in.

My friend and I tried to go to a movie last night but it didn't happen. We got there and bought our tickets for the 6:30 showing, but the phone system was all messed up, so it said another movie was showing and a bunch of people showed up for that. Being that there are only two theatres, he had to accomodate the crowd, so he gave us a credit and we were on our way. Bummer. We're going to try to go back on Friday, but we'll see. I really need to get the house cleaned up for moving!!

Still no word on the house yet. The appraisal was done, but we won't know how it turned out until Monday. After that, we'll just need a survey and be moving in!!

Ruth: Sorry to hear about your well. I hope the fix is easier and cheaper than digging it out! Glad you switched to bottled water so quick.

Schatzi: Sounds like we're really missing out not having a bird feeder! Enjoy your morning cuppa joe!

Cottage: A chilly morning for you, I see! Hope it warms up and you can enjoy your jaunt outdoors!

Sunnybunny: Mmmm, carrot cake. That is definitely food porn! Congrats on the loss!

annarenee: Good luck at your interview this afternoon! With your positive attitude, how could they not hire you?!

amberj: Welcome to the chat! I always seem to lose all my P1 weight in the first week and only lose 1 or 2 lbs in the second. I think my body just levels out and starts losing at a moderate pace. Don't worry about jumping on the scale too often! Most of us here check our weight daily to be sure we're on track! Looking forward to getting to know you!

Well, chickadees, off to tackle the world of government appraisal! (I am SO excited - sarcasm twice in one morning???) Have a great day and I'll pass on a little dust as well!

Good afternoon everyone!

Why oh why is P1 so hard? I slipped up again last night. I had the dreaded alcohol and some other stuff with dinner. This is really getting to me, this is 2 days in a row that I've done great until dinner. I am eating enough during the day so I don't understand what the issue could be... other than giving into the evil cravings. I guess that I need to just focus more. Why oh why did I decide to start on a week that I am traveling? Today has been good so far. I had an egg white omelet for breakfast and a snack cheese for lunch. I am tracking my calories at www.thedailyplate.com as well. Hopefully today I'll be strong! With all of the Willpower dust going around I don't know how I'd ever slip up!

Ruth - sorry to hear about your well, that's horrible!

Sunnybunny - good job on the loss! 4 pounds is awesome!

Jill,

You can do this Be sure that you eat enough though...an eggwhite omelet and a snack cheese is not much for the day. Also, where are your veggies?

Remember that in phase 1 you really don't have to watch how much you eat...just eat until you are full and satisfied. I will be honest, I lost 14 pounds in phase 1 and I ate whatever I wanted that was phase 1 food. I also ate as much as I wanted and still lost 14 pounds! I also know that from people I know that had success...the more they ate on phase 1 the better they did, too.

Now I am not saying to overeat or binge...but make yourself feel satisfied because you are already giving up a lot by not eating fruit, bread, or good starches.

That is my story and I am sticking to it!

Well, today is my "planning" day for phase1. Which my hubby hates he's like why do your diets always start tomorrow? But I don't want to have any excuses to start off wrong. I will plan meals and shop tonight and eat the last few special dark easter eggs (what can I say I'm a glutten for punishment!) So, I'm going to save some of Dust for tomorrow. Dr. Phil says you can't count on will power but I think a little pixie dust in your corner can't hurt! Thanks for spreading the love
P.S. I didn't even know wells could get contaminated so now I'm freaking out!! Good luck with that, I hope it costs as little as possible.

SunnyBunny - Thanks for your words of wisdom. I misspoke, I meant that the snack cheese was for a snack. For lunch I had a veggie burger w/ cheese and onions (minus the bun) and a salad (veggies, yay!). I went a little off plan and had a SBD protein bar for an afternoon snack, I was craving chocolate and that just seemed perfect and I found it in my desk. So I am obviously not doing a perfect Phase 1.

This week I have so little control over the food because I am in downtown Washington DC and am staying in a hotel. Next week will be much easier because I will be able to prepare my food and have veggies, etc that are convenient. I just didn't want to put off starting for a whole week.

Losing 14 pounds on P1 is awesome! Did you follow it by the book exactly? I hope that I am not hindering myself too much by the little slip ups. The big ones we won't even talk about

Jill,
The only thing that I did that was not by the book was eat ff/sf chocolate pudding. I don't usually crave chocolate, but my two weeks of phase 1 was PMS and period! Lovely huh? I still wonder how in the heck I did it. I was also travelling for work. I just stuck to it.

This past weekend was when I moved to phase 2 and I will say that I overdid the good carbs a little...so this week I am trying to eat them sparingly. One meal a day usually. I just don't feel very good when I eat a bunch of carbs.
