Hi

Today was busy. I took my daughter to cheerleading. Afterward I meet my mom at Kohls to shop for her birthday. She is 79 going on 40. We shopped for around 3 hours. I went home but she went on to go to Catherines to shop some more. I have been trying to call here to see if she made it home yet but I guess she is still out. Mom blessed me with a bunch of discount tickets that she got from work. Food and AMC tickets etc...I'll just have to stay away from the 'fat food' tickets or give them to my DH to use when I am not around.

That's all for now

BTY- the flowers are beautiful.

Cottage Thanks for the kind words. I feel like things are falling into place for us as well.

Barb I wish our church didn't have Sunday school on spring break. I enjoy teaching it once I am there, of course, but sometimes I want to sleep in a bit and go to the 11:00 service. I am doing a cooking rotation this month with K-2nd graders. I will do the same lesson 4 times while they rotate through. It is a neat concept, and the kids really seem to enjoy it.

Adia I am very fortunate to have the schedule that I do. I never became a teacher thinking about the "mom" factor, but it does free up a lot of time to be with my kids. I waited tables for YEARS!! I actually miss it sometimes- it is serious work, but I loved having cash in my pocket!

Stinger Sounds like a successful trip to Kohl's. My mom is the biggest fan of that store. She can find great deals.

LC How is your DH doing?

We hit the library today- that is one of girls' favorite outings. I got one of the Nora Roberts trilogies. Am looking forward to getting into it. I started it this afternoon and wound up dozing off on the couch while the little one napped and the big one played in her room. Some errands, Jason' Deli for dinner, and we are home snuggling on the couch.

Have a great night all!

We are having a very Christmassy snowstorm right now.

The wedding was terrific and the bride looked absolutely gorgeous! She puddled up when she saw the Girls in their lace, ribbon and sprigs of flowers. I didn't have my camera but there were lots of pictures taken so I may get some from the shutter bugs. I partied until 2 AM and drank more than my share of champagne but felt just terrific this morning. The rest of the congregation were not in such good shape. I was told I was insufferably perky!

In a bit, I am going over to Claire's to help her put the house back in order. After lunch, I'll go to visit Harry. I've not seen him since I got back from Florida because of this bronchitis plague but I'm pretty well over it now. The rest of the day will be all mine! I think I'll just sit and sip tea while I read my backlog of New Yorkers.

Have a lovely Sunday, Chickies.

I'm glad you had such a good time yesterday, Ruth! Be careful going out in that snow, and make sure you keep it all up there!

It's about 25* colder here today than it was the last 2 days, just reminding us that winter is still lurking around. We're just going to enjoy a quiet lazy day at home, after keeping the grandkids happy and occupied all day yesterday. I'm getting some laundry done and I want to vacuum the carpets, but that's about it. I took some Goat Cheese & Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts out of the freezer for our supper later, but I don't know if I'll get any other cooking done for the week ahead today. Right now I just don't feel like spending the day cooking.

The party last night was a lot of fun. I ate almost totally on plan. I did gets lots of compliments on the lasagna. I was able to stay away from most of the desserts easily since I gave up chocolate for Lent. So far so good.

Brian ate a lot of different stuff. I thought I would get to sleep in this morning but he came in at 6 this morning to say he had gotten sick. I think it was just something he ate (maybe the cheese ball with nuts on it or all the sausages he ate). Anyway he is fine now and able to eat normally but I was wide awake by the time I'd gotten everything cleaned up. Maybe tonight I can catch up on sleep.

I am keeping him home from church this morning just in case.

Kiko - I love Nora Roberts. I've ready every one of her trilogies and almost every book she has written.

Afternoon gals!

Home from church, the kids have been fed, so I have a few minutes to check in. I am going bowling this afternoon with my 6th grade confirmand from church. It is a shorter outing than the hockey game we attended awhile back. It should be fun. A girlfriend is watching the girls for me and then has invited us to stay for dinner.

Anyhow, just wanted to say hello.

Barb- Is Brian's spring break this week or next?

Also, has anyone been having trouble using the similies or bolding words? Maybe it is just my computer, but I haven't been able to do it all weekend.

Kiko - Brian's Spring Break is the 12-16. They would have also had this Friday off but they are making up the snow day instead.

Brian is feeling perfectly fine now so I guess it was just something he ate. He and DH went off with the model rocket club to launch rockets this afternoon in Frisco. They are having dinner with the rocket club at Dickies BBQ and I'm making shrimp stir fry. That gave me the chance to spend an hour at the gym even after grocery shopping. It felt good. I'm going to try to go again tomorrow if I can get out of work at a reasonable time.

Hi, girls. I'm new here and don't really know everyone's story yet so I'm just gonna have to jump in--is that ok?

I have 7 days left of Phase I and call me crazy, but I don't feel like I'm lacking a single thing. I mean I am not longing for french fries or pancakes or anything. The food is so filling and compared to what I'm used to (carb-restricted plans that obviously failed), the variety is tremendous. I'm very happy with this WOE thus far and am hopeful that I have found my permanent eating lifestyle at last.

I have lost 6 lbs. so far in 7 days (water, etc.), but it's a nice boost and the best thing is just learning about nutrition and learning how my body reacts to different foods. I'm not counting the seconds until Phase II or anything. I'm not going to jump for the grains. I'm going to spend my first Phase II week having an apple each afternoon or evening.

Anyway...nice to meet you all!
