Default Just started today

I'm a 40 yr old husband and my wife and I are doing this together. I have one question, the recipes that are posted by posters are they approved Sonoma Diet recipes? I mean are they from a book or something or are they recipes that posters made up?

I'm not a sonoma dieter/poster but on all of these forums there is a mix of recipes they made, found, or got out of the official book. Since most have the official book I'm guessing most are a mix of the other two.

Once you learn the components of Sonoma eating, it's very easy to create your own recipes or to adapt old ones (or ones you find online) to suit. I've used alot of the Sonoma recipes directly from the book and I've also "tweaked" them here and there. I'm never one to follow a recipe to a T, anyway. I can always improve, hehe.

I agree that once started you'll see how easy it is to stay within the guidelines. But a lot of the ones posted are from the book and the ones posted on allrecipes are from the Sonoma Online site so they are also official. Basically if it's not a bunch of processed stuff and has a good mix of veggies and protein, it can certainly be Sonoma-friendly.

Good luck you two!

Exactly.. once you know the rules, it is very easy to alter most recipes to be Sonoma friendly. I snag non Sonoma recipes all the time and change them to suit the plan.

Thanks everyone, we're on our second day and we are pretty much following the book to the "T"...so far. The food is good although I am not a big fan of vegetables, although I am trying.

My wife has it easy because she loves veggies, she only needs to lose about 15 pounds. It's a "win-win" for her because she gets to eat the foods that she loves and I do all of the cooking because I'm an exellent cook.

keep going bossman!! Actually you'll have an easier time dropping lbs in the beginning that she will with only 15 to go. Try to eat the veggies that you do like and maybe throw a new one in each week for good measure.

I have to try all of all the veggies, we have 3 kids so I have to set a good exmaple. We had the marinated flank steak last night and that was great, along with the broccoli side dish it called for. Next time I make the broccoli I'll use feta instead of blue cheese, it was too funky for me.

I'm with ya, not a bleu cheese girl here!

good for you with the example too. I know way too many parents that eat zero veggies yet they yell at their kids to eat them...
