Question Anybody skip Wave 1?

I was reading a review of the Sonoma Diet and a couple of dietitians were saying that they like the diet a lot, but they just didn't like Wave 1. Mainly they weren't comfortable with not having fruit. I think the review was in US News and World Report....I just googled "Sonoma Diet." The fruit thing is an issue for me as well. So I'm wondering if anyone here has just skipped the first wave?

I think one or two people skipped Wave 1. The purpose of Wave 1 is to eliminate sugar cravings. If you don't have problems with sugar or other artificial sweeteners, then I don't think it's a problem to skip Wave 1.

I take juice plus daily and it is fruits in a pill without the sugar and salt. I take anyways, but this way I can still reap the benefits of fruit. I also take the veggie pills. Im about the order the vineyard blend. Its a berry blend. Just a thought for you.

I'd recommend getting your fruits and vegetables in whole form, not capsules. You'll gain much more than what is in the capsules. Also, Juice Plus may not be beneficial at all, and there has been some controversy over the accuracy of their reports. A recent article by the University of California (Berkeley Wellness) comes to mind. It comes down to a personal choice, of course, but it's not a product I try to recommend.

I also didn't feel comfortable skipping fruits. I don't have a problem with sugar cravings. I think doing without has made me appreciate fruit a little more, lol, but that would be all I gained from it.

The studies are funded by Natural Alternatives International,

Thats interesting because there are over 23 universities doing studies on juice plus including yale, vanderbilt just to name two. The interesting thing is that the Federal Government is funding these. There is published proof that it can help you. I have researched it a lot and give it to my family with confidence.
It never says that it is better than or equal to the real thing. Its says its the next best thing.
I went to a seminar last night with Dr. Dubois. He was the head of the CDC and many other. He is a huge advocate of the product and the information he had of published proof that this does help with oxidative stress, circulation, dna repair, eclampsia in pregnant women were pretty astouding.
I was just suggesting it while you cannot eat fruit as "the next best thing" thats all.
Just trying to help. I understand the skepticism, I too was skeptical.

I have been doing the Med Diet, which this is based upon for several years. I never did a 10 day Wave as I didn't have an issue with sugar cravings.

The primary reason for the Wave 1 is to deal with those cravings. I don't think all of us get those so for some it may not be necessary. One other thing about Wave 1.. a lot of people seem to get a larger than normal loss during that time. Granted it may be water but for some people seeing that larger than normal loss is a big mental boost and we all know that the majority of this weight battle goes on between our ears. so this is a help to them.

The main thing is to cut out the processed crap most of us are eating.. cookies, cakes, pretzels, chips, boxed rice/noodle mixes, hamburger helper.. well you get the idea.

I would never eat fruit or veggies in a pill, when the real thing is so wonderful. It seems to me that the point of this and other similar diets is to eat as naturallly and healthfully as possible. I'm always wary of these multi-level marketing schemes anyway.

I appreciate everyone's comments. I have the book and have tried some of the recipes.

Wave 1 is not a long term thing. Do it! It has benefits.
