Default Cereal question

Now, we are big eaters of steel cut oats here, but we do occasionally need a quick breakfast and sometimes want a little cold cereal. My dd is allergic to wheat, however, and since I am nursing her, I cannot have it either. Most high fiber cereals are wheat based. We found some great kamut flakes (which she can eat) that don't have any sugar or regular wheat in them. They do, however, only have 2 g. of fiber. I am thinking about combining 7/8 c. of the cereal with 1/8 c. oat bran to increase the fiber. Do you all think this is within the guidelines?
