Hey new friends. I was just cruising around the threads and stumbled on this one. I bought the mediterranean cookbook a while back but didn't do a thing with it. I am gonna actually try a few recipes this week. Whoo Hoo! Glad to see you all like it. I hope my husband does. (shhh, don't tell him!)

Welcome swtgila and good luck!!

I am confused about these threads---they seem a little mixed up lately!
swtgila---let me know what recipes you are using and whats good--I am just maintaining at this time with the hope of losing some this summer--not a lot just to get the roll off my middle and thighs! Which cookbook did you get?
Hope everyone has a successful week!!
cereal skim milk
ww wrap with veggies and steak
not sure---some kind of rice (I just bought some sweet rice at an Asian store--will try not to make sticky rice with mangos and coconut milk with it!!)

Thanks for the warm welcome. So far, my beaches are safe. That would be Gulf Shores, AL, and Dauphin Island, Alabama...as well as Pensacola, FL. All of which are an hour or less from me. But, the hole has not been plugged. I hope it will be soon.

I haven't had the time to try any recipes yet. I looked over the book yesterday. I hope to grocery shop this weekend with a few recipes in hand. The book I bought from Barnes and Noble was Mediterranean Light by Martha Rose Shulman. I got it b/c I did some kind of questionaire about your dieting style in a magazine or online or something, it suggested the Mediterranean Diet as good choice for me. I don't know if it is or not or what it was going off of, but I thought it was worth a look. :-)

Hey swtgila! I think we've run into each other here before-we're neighbors. I live in Ocean Springs. I just came back from a few days in New Orleans. Not my best eating but it was good. Trying to get back on track. Gained a few while I was away but I'll see how it looks at the end of the week

B: Canadian bacon and egg pita pocket, sugar free latte
L: 6" italian sub
D: cold sesame noodles with chicken and cucumbers
Maybe some watermelon later.

Ping, I am gonna try some of the recipes when I am off next week. I will let you know which ones I like. :-) Petra, yes, I believe you are right. Ocean Springs is so pretty. That whole area is. Used to go over to Marine Life every summer. DId you ever go there? I saw somewhere they are rebuilding it but at a new location that will be safer for the marine life should another hurricane come. Do you know anything about it?

Way too much food in my life recently. We took a psychiatrist out to dinner last night that we are interviewing for a job. It was a mediterranean restaurant so I ate pretty good-mahi mahi with some sort of fruit on top. It was good. We are having him for lunch today too so more food. Seems never ending right now.

I also have a date this weekend but its just coffee at my suggestion. that should help limit the calories.

Ping. Enjoy the wedding. A little of everything sounds like a good approach. Hopefully this is a once in a lifetime occasion.
