S/C/G: SW:226/16st - about 50lbs lost

Height: 5'8"

Default LWL #274 25th September - 1st October

Heck it'll be October next week!!!!

It's 6 weeks to the wedding. 6 weeks of buckling down and eating clean and working out strong and hard! I'm going to be SO good!

Had a pathetic weekend - too much motorbike riding and not enough sleep. I feel ok though. I didn't eat terribly. I had the most delish rainbow trout for dinner on Saturday and yesterday I only had a couple of meals since we were biking ALL DAY - they weren't the greatest meals, but we did what we could with the food we had in the fridge when we got home!

Today I am lifting at the gym. Unfortunately they are moving the gym for a while. I am going to have to figure out where the "new gym" is. And to see if I can get there and back in my lunch hour.

Frus, I saw your post on the last thread about the Student of the Year! That's terrific! You should get something for all that pummeling, right?!

I know, it's time to get serious ladies! October is this weekend and soon you'll be married babes and the rest of us will soon be contemplating the subject of holiday weight gain. I hope to be down significantly by then so that I'll be in the mindset of "no looking back." So far so good, haven't budged on buying any halloween candy even tho it's been in the stores for the last 3 weeks.

Looking forward to a week in town, workwise, and good working out. Had alot of make-up to do this weekend to get back on track with my lifting since so much didn't get done at the end of last week, but proud to say, I am back on schedule now! Had a great UBWO and LBWO yesterday plus 2 cardio sessions! DH is vocal about me doing too much, but I am vocal that no, that is just how I like to spend my free time now. It used to be eating, shopping, tv watching and now that is my choice.

I think I blew out my treadmill shoes over the weekend. I will post a photo, so take a look and let me know what you think. I thought I got too close to the edge of the treadmill maybe one too many times, but it's odd that it's exactly the same on both sides. Think it's time for a tradeout.

Well, sorry that it's all about me, but I'm feeling really strong and able these days and I really LIKE that!!

hrbabe - you sound psyched! Keep up the good work!

My gym closes tomorrow. I thought it was a temporary move while they refurbed but they are closed for 2 YEARS!!!!!!!! It's moved to another facility in the same town but not as close to work as my current one. I'm looking at the YMCA facility that is basically across the road, but somehow I think it won't have a squat rack or much weight-lifting stuff I will look at how long it will take to get to the alternate gym before I completely cancel my membership - I might even start coming to work early and working out before work. That might work for a little while.

Let me know what you think about the shoes. Is this a treadmill injury or is this how you know that your shoes need to be trash? The part you're looking at is right above the sole, the long gash-like cut right below where it says "adiprene". See it? What IS that??? Both shoes are cut in the same place, altho I'm sure I really mostly walk off the treadmill on the right side, and not so much the left. I started looking closely at my shoes bc my currently issue of a mag I get said to check the midsole for cracks, and lo and behold, this is what I found!!

2FRU = You are scaring me with the talk of October next week. That means Halloween and I have a princess costume to make. 6 weeks to go wahoo, sounds great. Talk about crunch time. That is a pain to have your gym uprooted. Good luck on making the workouts work.

HR - It is all about you, because when you aren't in top form, you aren't much good to anyone else.
since I am not sure what I am looking at, no clue on your shoes. I totally depend on my local marathon shop. I have been in there when they have said, no you can get a couple more weeks out of those shoes so I feel like they aren't just selling and they also have real people who work out working there.

My workout today is a site visit, just glad it is done enough I don't have to do the steel toed boots and hardhat routine, just fence inspections. What a life.

Food is on track though I have to watch those dried cranberries I found, they are from Whole Foods and big, not those little crasin things.

I know I need to boogie. I can't believe the wedding is coming so fast.

This past week has been horrid. I had the worst TOM I've had in a long time. I had migraines for the past week and the cramps were very painful and I had trouble sleeping. So I haven't been exercising, I didn't go hiking and my eating has been less than perfect. It is time though to get my butt in gear.

Poor Nelie

I've got 6 weeks! 6 WEEKS! So I'm pulling out all the stops! I still need to ring the photographer and sort out the flowers...

Happy Monday gals! Just checking in to let you know that I'm here and still on track.

This weekend was a bit iffy in the food department, but it was good in the sense that it made me realize I need to plan better and I went to the grocery store and stocked up on emergency eats. That way I have no excuse to eat poorly if plans fall through.

Did not do my weekend cardio, but I'm blaming that on my new kitten - too hard to "babysit" him and do other things at the same time. I'm hoping that by next weekend the others will have settled down and can be trusted around him. And, that he will have learned where the litter boxes are! Here's a photo:

Had a great LBWO this morning and food on track today. I plan to make this week better thna the last. Progress, not perfection!

Morning all. It was a glorious day here Sat afternoon and yesterday. I got the rest of my prennial transplants in the ground, and DH got most of the veggie garden cleaned up. The lettuce is still in the ground - it keeps better there! - and there are still a few tomatos in the greenhouse. My annual flowers I'll pull after a hard frost kills them. We've had several light frosts now, and it'll be really cold any day now.

Food wise it was a up and down weekend. DH came home Sat with 4 grouse he'd shot (and cleaned before they saw my kitchen, thank you very much). We had on grilled on Sat night, and one in strognaoff yesterday (made with lf sour cream and mushroom soup, lots of onions and mushrooms). Spruce Grouse are about the size of game hens, and you eat only the breast. They're very lean. On the flip side of food, DH wanted scones (homemade) for Sunday breakfast. Sigh. At least I only ate one.

This week looks to be much less stressful than last, and with fewer interruptions to my gym schedule. I have everything for both an UBWO and cardio after work today - including new shoelaces! I bought them a few weeks ago, and haven't managed to get the shoes and laces in the same place.

Frus - wow! Seems like just the other day you'd decided on a date, and now it's only 6 weeks. Bummer on the gym. That happened here about 4 years ago, and for 2 years the only options (other than home) were Curves or driving 1/2 hour to the "big box" gym in the next town. (Run by teenagers, never clean, loud heavy metal music, don't get me started) Fortunately, new owners took over the local gym and it's been reopen for 2+ years.

Nelie - sorry you've been feeling poorly. Here's to a better week for you.

Fran - maybe walking lunges in the train station.

at the rest of you. I'm off to 07 buget he**.

Pat,

I wanted to say thank you for posting the information on the Litebook. I ordered one and received it about a week ago. I’ve been really struggling for months with feeling very, very sad and not having any interest in cleaning or hardly even moving. I use to kick start myself when I felt this way by hanging laundry on the clotheslines first thing in the morning, but, at last my clothes line tree gave out and DH hasn’t been motivated to replace it.

It is hard to believe that living in AZ could leave you needing more light but I started thinking about how we stay out of direct sunlight during the summer because it is so hot and during the winter you end up driving to work just as the sun is coming up and back home after dark. Anyway, I decide to give the light a try and this is the first weekend in a good many months I did not feel sad and dragged out. The light is the only thing I changed about my routine so I have to assume that has something to do with my improved mood.

for the recommendation; I thought you might like to know how much you helped me.

You're more than welcome Evangeline! My DH thinks it helps too. We are less than 12 hours of daylight now. But it's a glorious fall day today. I walked over to city hall - about 6 blocks - and wished I had somewhere else to go! DH - who is retired - called to tell me he was hiking our local butte rather than going to the gym today.

Happy Monday Ladies!!!!

Frus...love the Student of the Year post in the last thread!!! That's awesome!

hrbabe: it's funny you mention that...I was thinking about holiday weight gain tonight at the gym...I was thinking that I might (*might*) have lost 10 by then (that would be NICE but I am such a slow loser!!! )...I would love to get into the zone and get below my goal (my goal is -15) and then have some room to move but I have been working so hard and it's just going very very slowly.

It's my 10th anniversary on Thanksgiving day!!! My youngest son is taking my 13 year old to Boston for the weekend (after Tday dinner) so DH and I can celebrate in NYC. woo hoo. Although DH is somewhat blind to my size (after I lost 80 lbs he said, "I didn't realize you were that big."), I'd like to be smaller to buy a little black number for our anniversary weekend. If not, my goal is my son's wedding next September.

Nelie: I'm sorry you are not feeling well.

WaterRat: Walking lunges in the train station!?! I should try that in the subway station.

BFL Cat: That is the cutest kitten!!!!! I am so jealous. I got my 3 cats all in the same year and they would never accept another cat. I love kitties.

Tonight I had an awesome legs workout and then stretched for about 15 minutes and rested and then did 50 minutes of cardio. I tried to do an hour but my legs were cramping up.

I feel good.

I all the cutey cats! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I wish we had some!

I'm doing well - yesterday very clean eats, leg workout and teaching kickboxing.

Today, not much planned food but I should be ok, I've got plenty of fruit and I had a lovely filling breakfast. I'm going to do upper body at the gym at lunch, then I think I might pop down there again after work to squeeze in some ab work and perhaps some other fun exercises that I like! Then tonight is kickboxing - I'm going to get Lee to bully me!
