I'm in need of a jump start, and I've decided to try making a tiny challenge to myself each week. I'm starting this thread to keep me accountable for my goals for the week.
This is a hot offer--good this week only. Anyone care to join me?
The idea is simply that we'd each set a small goal for ourselves for the week--something we're not already doing that could improve our weight loss efforts--and then check in daily with a progress report.
I have hit a stall in my wieght loss. I just started back 2 weeks ago with LAWL.
1. Do 1 mile walk in 15 minutes with my walking DVD daily
2. cook at home at least 1x per day (I eat out way too much)
3. Plan to eat LAWL menus (I was cheating alot the past couple of weeks)
Would love to join in if that is ok .... little fragile at the moment ... so will challenge myself to:
- stick to my treat limit and not go over it ... as well as
- drink 2 litres of water a day
So far today is going well .. and yesterday (which was Monday here) .. I managed to get all of my water in ... and JUST made it within my treat limit rofl (by about 2 calories!)
This is a great idea. I'm doing 'o.k.' and exercising quite a bit, but I've gotten off track with my eating... even went so far as chocolate this weekend... and ice cream. When I get that stuff outa my system I don't even miss it, but a slice of bread is enough to send me into a tailspin. And trust me, right now my tail is spinnin'.
I need to cut out any and all candy, and any and all bread. I've already blown it on both counts for today (Monday) but you can count on me for the rest of the week!
No Candy.
No breads. (Cakes, pancakes, muffins, pizza crust, you know - all the fun carbs!)
No refined sugar or flour.
I *still* haven't exercised, but it's only 9 p.m. my time. I'm headed home to do laundry and ride the bike for 10 minutes while the clothes are in the washer. I WILL NOT FAIL ON MY VERY FIRST DAY!
Go Angela, Go! When I was still on the truck I used to tell myself I'd just walk for 5 minutes. Getting started was the hardest part, and once I started that 5 minutes I often did 20 or more.
I think I need to add "Increase Water Intake" to my goal for the week, too.
Well I have fallen behind today on my water intake .. BUT I have had lots of liquids lol .. mainly juice tho ... but I do take 750ml to bed with me which I have as I wake up thru the night. Gonna try and have a bottle of water before I go to bed tho so at least Im not toooo far behind
Hello all! I am willing to take this challenge.
1. exercise 3 times for the week for at least 30 min. take the stairs instead of the elevator at work. I have gotten a bit laxed in this area lately.
2. increase my water intake
3. journal my intake with food, water, exercise
Good luck everyone and I think this is a great idea. I have already exercised with hard garden labor on sunday so only 2 more days to go there!
You're right Valerie.... I hardly ever just do 10 minutes. Yesterday it was only 16, but I'm saying 10 just because I have GOT to make it daily instead of once in a while. And anyone can find 10 minutes in the day, right?
Oh, yes, Angela. I was just trying to say that I thought that your '10 minute' idea was great!
Like the song says, "two outa three ain't bad." So far today I've already slipped up on the No Bread rule, but I haven't touched candy/sugar and I've already had over 60 ounces of water, so I'm doing better than yesterday anyway.
