I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Emilymay it is nice to see another nursing student in the group. I finish nursing school this May and I am so excited.
Ammi- RKRS is short for my family names. My husband is Rico, I am Kenya, My son is also Rico but we call him RJ, and my daughter is Shayla. Silly isn't it.
Ok Ladies I am off to dance and do laundry and study. I have just got myself a Urban Rebounder. I think I will really like it. Later today after I finish all my housework I will get to jumping on it with my dance music on to shake things up for myself
Jill - Thanks for telling me more about your diet, once you get yourself back on track with it will you go back to normal calorie counting? I am terrible, I want to lose weight, but I just can't do it on a diet where you have to have one thing one day, or not eat something etc. It's why WW is my fave diet, I know I can eat whatever I want and just count the points. It sounds like you have your will power back now, and I hope at your next WI you are rewarded for your efforts
Misti - wow it was a really lazy day for you, well done for taking a break. It sounds like your foot needed it anyway. How is it today? More to the point, how are you feeling. I am sorry you got up not feeling well, take it easy if you need to, time enough to exercise when you are 100% up to it!!
SabrinaFaire - hi and What a lovely picture of you in your avatar, when was it taken? Congratulations on your wedding in October, I hope you are loving married life. I like what you said to EmilyMay about being a beautiful bride no matter what your size. I got married 4 years ago and I was a bit bigger than I am right now. I felt like a princess on the day, and I can still watch the video and look at the photos without feeling any different. Of course I would have preferred to be slimmer, but it didn't stop me feeling gorgeous. I am glad you felt beautiful, there's nothing like the beauty you feel from being a bride
By the way, do you like the film Sabrina? Is that where you got your nick name on here from?
Patti - do you think it's wise to move your WI to a Monday? I only ask because I know that you find your weekends the hardest time to diet with your hubby being home so maybe on a Monday you will be heavier than a Friday because of that? Come on be brave and jump on those scales today
Nelie - 74 flights of stairs I am aching just thinking of that Seriously I think it's wonderful that you love walking/hiking and that you are so good at it. Even when I was slim I don't think I would want to do a hike the equivelant of 74 flights of stairs, no thanks
Did I say for you losing 2 lbs. I have a terrible memory, and I can't remember which thread I first mentioned the hiking on. I do remember I said we were the same weight, then today I see you are 269, so something tells me congrats are in order!!
Kenya - nothing silly about what RKRS stands for, I think it's a great way to make a nick name for online stuff. I love the name Rico, and Shayla is such a pretty name. Thanks for answering my question.
Now the Laundry, studying and dancing I hope you aren't going to try to do it all at once What's an urban rebounder, some kind of trampoline? I love the way you described shaking things up for yourself Have fun!
Hey - I am married!! I got married April 15th this year and I weighed about what I do now, wore a size 28-30 dress and I felt amazing!! I love the photos too - I am lucky tho I got a great dress and that was a big part of helping me feel good on the day I think. It was the most amazing day and one I had put off for years thinking I would be slim and get married - however in the end I thought, omg what am I waiting for?? So I got married at pretty much my heaviest weight and it didn't matter a bit. I was going to put off going to nursing school til I was thin too, and thank goodness I didn't as I am in my final year now.
I agree with the sentiment that we should seize the moment, whether we are big or slim.
About getting married, I say just do it! Don't let your weight stop you from getting married or doing anything else. A goal can also be a huge motivator. Set a date, then work towards that date and see how much weight you can lose. I remember watching the show "Buff Brides" and felt that it was amazing how much weight they could lose in just 16 weeks.
I'm getting married in November and I am using that motivation to help me lose weight. I bought my wedding dress (size 22) last month and it was tight! I was afraid to breathe. The wedding dress is no longer tight. I want to be in the 250s for my wedding, so that is where I am heading. Did I mention that the wedding gown is strapless? Oh yeah, me in a strapless gown. Can I get any more motivation?
Ammi - I am a bit crazy so yeah, my overall goal encompasses doing a hike that has a 2000 ft rise in elevation, basically equal to 200 flights of stairs I expect to do a 1000 ft rise in elevation before the end of this year. It is hard to haul around nearly 300 lbs but it makes me very proud.
Ammi was also very observant in that I did lose 2 more lbs. I am down to 269! I haven't seen the 260s since I was 16 and I starved myself to get down to 260 back then. I can't wait to have 100 lbs total lost which will be a huge milestone
SabrinaFaire - hi and What a lovely picture of you in your avatar, when was it taken? Congratulations on your wedding in October, I hope you are loving married life. Thanks That picture is about three years old. DH was messing around with his digital camera and told me to pose. I may put up a larger picture or version of that one but that's the one I had that was the right size. At another forum I frequent (frequent? I run it! LOL) the avatar size is 120x120 so most of my stuff is sized for that.
Ah yes I would have liked to have been smaller at my wedding too but it didn't work out that way. There are dresses now that fit larger sizes, more so than there were a few years ago. There's no such thing as a bride that isn't beautiful. I was very worried that I wouldn't like my pictures but with a nice dress, pro make up, and most importantly, a fantastic photographer, I ended up loving them.
I do like that movie, both versions. The nick name is actually from a John Milton poem. The movies are based on a play called Sabrina Fair which got the name from the poem.
Me and my four best friends in the world! And that is enough for now! My goodness I've only posted today and I want to show u all my wedding album!! Lol just so happy about being married - I had 6 years of single parenthood and ill health prior to the happy day so feel very very lucky!!
He is super tall!! 6 foot 6!! So makes me look smaller in comparison!! lol that wasn't why I fell for him btw! He's lovely tho
Your tales of hiking sounds inspirational btw, I have been biking for about the last month and am quite getting into exercising in that way.
Kenya - hello fellow student nurse!! Hard work isn't it!!
OMgosh!! What a lovely pic!! I love the flash of red Really looks wonderful! My dad took our pics, so no kind of arty ones, but I am grateful that he didn't charge! I love that pic! Lovely dress - u look great!
Ok Ok, who is it that said they are engaged and want to lose weight before setting a wedding date? It seems it wasn't EmilyMay (sorry EmilyMay), and it's not SabrinaFaire, so please remind us who you are, AND all the comments that were given to EmilyMay about being beautiful as a bride no matter your size now go to that other person Sorry for the confusion.
EmilyMay - what wonderful wedding photos, thanks so much for sharing, you made a stunning bride, and I love your wedding dress. You know you and I have a lot in common, I too had nearly 6 years of being a single mum, and I had a lot of illness and surgeries to contend with before I got married. I know a wedding day is very special but I think it's even moreso when you have stared death in the face and lived to tell the tale, and been coping alone as a single mum, then to finally meet and marry the man of your dreams is heavenly Oh and my hubby is tall too, but not quite as tall as yours, he is 6 foot 3
Nelie - are you trying to make me have a coronary I was poorly enough thinking of 74 flights of stairs, now you have me imagining 200 Well all I can say is that I KNOW you will achieve that goal and will be so proud of yourself when you do
OOOh a wedding coming up, that is wonderful, and a strapless gown for you to wear as well, I can't wait to see some photos after the big day. Now just you be careful that you don't end up having to have the dress taken in because you get too slim for it
Ok now it's official so I can go that is fantastic that the last 2 lbs you lost got you into the 260s where you haven't been since you were 16. What an awesome milestone, congrats!!
SabrinaFaire - thank you for letting me know about the film Sabrina coming from the character in the poem by John Milton. I LOVE both of the Sabrina films too, hence me picking up on your nick name
What a gorgeous wedding photo, you and your hubby look great, and I love the use of colour only on the petals. Very posh
Hey Ammi - glad u liked the pics considering my weight I felt really really good on the day! Its funny what we have in common isn't it? I had a really tough few years to say the least, and to be honest my weight at the time was the least of my worries, and I could not address it. Now the time is right and before I qualify as a nurse which is in a year's time I want to be at a much healthier weight so I can be a good role model to others with weight issues but also so that the shift work is easier on my poor little feet!!
