I'm sure thinthinker will be along any minute now to tell you, but for the newbies, we have a thread for sharing pictured stickied at the top of the 300+ section of the forum. She doesn't like for us to post them here in the chat threads because it makes the page load much slower for those with slower internet connections But anyway--I LOVE seeing those pictures! I agree that there's no such thing as a bride who doesn't look fabulous on her wedding day, regardless of size! I hope, Kimpossible, that you don't let your weight get in the way of your life--get married for the love, not for the size of the gown!

Ammi--yeah, I will probably go back to calorie cycling once I feel I have gained back the needed discipline and mentality to keep myself under control. I was literally having fast food multiple times a week, eating junk on nearly a daily basis, and just eating entirely too much and too often. By going back on this strict plan, I don't have to do any of the thinking, so it helps keep me in line

I would REALLY like to be noticably smaller by Thanksgiving. I'm going home to CT for that holiday, so I will see my parents, my sister, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and I would like to be able to wear something without having to dig through my closet for a shirt that doesn't cling to my bulging stomach (like I do now). Hopefully, that will give me motivation to stay on track through the rest of the winter holiday season, which was where I fell so far off track in the first place (and am still currently recuperating!).

Alrighty, I had my salad for lunch (it was supposed to be veggies and dressing only, but I did have 1 medium hard-boiled egg...sssh, don't tell the Diet Gods!). Now I'm drinking a Diet Pepsi (already finished my 2 liters of water), and man, do I feel stuffed! I think the carbonation in the soda makes me feel full--whatever it is, I like it because it sure makes me NOT want to eat anything else right now

Wow- this thread really moves fast- I just got off work ( I work early mornings at a resort and I run around all day, so I don't get to a computer until I'm off work. My pic is of me at work-all i have time for)

Thanks to everyone for the encouragment about getting married. I let my fear that I won't reach my goal scare me away from setting a date- but you are right, I know that even if I don't reach my goal I can still be a beautiful bride. EmilyMay your pictures are beautiful, I love your dress.

Question: Where do you get all these body fat measures and even a scale? I don't have one, because all the scales I see stop at like 2501bs, so when I way its at the gym or at the doctor office. I would really rather have my own scale, I hate weighing in public, I always have this self-conscious fear that someone is looking over my shoulder. And i carry my weight really well, so no one would guess I way 400- so why let them see.

I've decided to try nurtisystem diet, it seems painless, no decision making, just eat what they give you. Has anyone ever tried it?

Thank you so much for the lovely comments about my pictures Thanks to Jillybean for pointing out the errors of my ways and I promise to post pictures in the right place from now on, what can I say, I was excited!!!!

Hey that rebounder sounds fabby

Kimpossible -
I saw a programme in the UK the other day (a lot of our scales only tend to go up to about 250-280 pounds) and this person simply used two scales, one for each foot if u like and then added up the amounts. I am lucky as mine go up to 23 stone which is 322 pounds so I can weigh at home.

Thanks again for the lovely feedback; I LOVED that dress!!!

Kimpossible - You can get scales up to 440 for $100 ish. I've been looking the last few days, I may do that, even though I don't to spend the money. I've seen a few on Amazon and Amplestuff.com has three, the 440 is a bathroom scale and then there's a 500 one and a 1000 one that are both medical scales.

to emilymay, sabrinafaire and kimpossible! (Hope I didn't miss anybody)

The wedding photos are beautiful! ALmost makes me wish I were single so I could throw a big bash! Maybe for our 25th anniversary!

I'm not doing much today as we are getting ready to take a trip to Charleston, SC tomorrow. We've never been and we're taking the MIL. Oh boy! Plan to do a lot of walking to see the historic sites and tour Fort Sumter. It's been a year since I've been to the ocean, which is sad since we don't live that far from it. But, you know how it is, work, etc., and before you know it, summer is gone.

Hope you all have a good weekend and are all losers!! lol

I have been meaning to post all day, but I needed to get some work done first.

Valerie – Way to go making those big decisions. We are all here for you. You deserve to be happy!!

Emily, Sabrina and Kim - Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Nelie – Congrats on getting into the 260’s – that is fantastic.

Ammi – It is so good to hear that Beth is healing well. When are you going on your trip?

Nightkatt
– Congrats on the loss! Definitely let us know how you like Turbo Jam. It seems like there are a lot of people on this site that like it, but I don’t know about how it is for larger people.

Jill – I am so glad to hear you are enjoying your new job so much. Are you finding it easier to fit in your lunches? It is great to be busy, but being too busy can be really tough.

Annie – Has there been any change in your house situation? Glad to hear your tongue is healing well.

I didn’t make it to the gym last night because I had to drive someone home, but I ended up being glad I didn’t. I have been pushing myself really hard because of my frustration – probably too hard. I have been sore for a week and I have kept pushing through it. I gave myself the day off from exercise and I feel so much better today. It could also have something to do with the new bed topper I got myself for my birthday. I have been wanting one of those memory foam things for years and kept hemming and hawing over the cost. I found one for not too much and got it. It is so comfortable. I don’t know about the rest of you, but the bigger I got the harder it got to get comfortable. It is getting better now, but I still have back pain problems.

Also a woman down the hall told me they might be starting a WW group here in the building. I haven’t really wanted to do WW because of childhood aversions (I got sent to WW camp twice – it ended up being fairly scarring). BUT . . . it seems like many people (like Ammi) have done so well with it that I am considering giving it a shot. Also, I feel like I am becoming some sort of focal point in the building because of my gym dedication (like if I did it, then other people would too). Of course I need to do it for me, so I guess we’ll see.

Well, I need to wrap things up so I can get to the gym (they close at 6 on Fridays).

Again you ladies looked wonderful in your wedding pictures....Since we didn't have a wedding the first time (we went to justice of piece) we are so looking forward to renew our vows this summer (10 years). I am sure by that time I will have a better self image and will love whatever size dress I will be wearing at that time.

Kimpossible I like your picture...it is always nice to see who you are talking to. It also looks like you were having fun at work

The rebounder is so fun. I must be so silly I bought it Off Home Shopping Network. my kids have been on it all afternoon. I'm like "Hey , can Mommy use it also?" I think it will be a family favorite. I am so happy my kids like movie arouns and staying active.

Nelie ---Congrats on getting to the 260! I am so happy for you.... Keep up the great work.

Nancy-- a weight watchers in your building that sounds so cool. Do they have trial memberships that you could try out. I have never been on WW because of the location/cost but I hear it is a wonderful program.

EmilyMay - After my first couple of surgeries I wasn't too worried about my weight, but after my third one I was so poorly and had unhealing wounds so couldn't do much, and the weight piled on. I did try to diet, but without exercise it was just no good. I went up to my heaviest weight of 23 and a half stone. As my wounds healed and I started feeling better I found that my weight was disabling me more than my surgery had. That's why I started this diet. Thankfully the weight is coming off now and I am feeling so much better already.

I bet you will feel better and better too as the weight comes off and your feet will thank you for it when you become a nurse and have all that walking to do!!!

Jill - oh it was KimPossible who was the one who wanted to lose weight before setting a wedding date was it? My memory is awful!!

The only good thing about the time you have spent having so many fast food meals is that now I am sure you are well and truly ready to give them a miss. That's one of the reasons that before I have started any diet I have always had a week of indulging on anything and everything I want. I spend so much time feeling TOO full that I actually look forward to feeling hungry when I start dieting I am sure you will do well with your weight loss and will look noticeably slimmer when you go home for Thanksgiving. I hear you on trying to find tops that aren't snug on your tummy. Before I started dieting this time, all my tops were too snug and I refused to buy any new ones. I am glad to say that they are now all hanging loosely again. Yours will all be fitting nicely soon too!!

Patti - rats, rats and double rats. I can't believe those stupid scales still aren't showing a loss. Are you sure they aren't stuck I am glad you weighed today though, and am keeping that NEXT FRIDAY you will see a loss

Kenya - I love the name of your mini trampoline, Urban Rebounder sounds exciting I am glad you and the kids love going on it, you may have to have your turn when the kids are in bed

KimPossible - love your Avatar, looks like you love your job, or are putting on a great smile even if you don't

I am glad that you realise that you will be a beautiful bride no matter what size you are, but I do understand why you would prefer to be slimmer. In the end you have to do what's right for you

No I haven't tried the Nutrisystem diet, I hope it works well for you though.

Newsnerd - snap, I want to have a vow renewal for my 10th anniversary too. We got married in Vegas and I would love to go back there to renew our vows, but instead of the traditional wedding like the first time, we want to do a fun themed one at the renewal It's 6 years away yet, so we get all that time to save up for the trip and decide which theme

Have a great day tomorrow, even with the MIL in tow Enjoy the walking too

Nancy - that will be great if they do start a WW in your building. Talk about convenient I hope you give it a try and don't let your bad memories stop you. Personally I don't go to a group, I don't have the money, but I get all the support I could ever need here, I have my own scales to weigh on, and I have a points calculator/data base to be able to work out my points. What more could a girl want

Missy - sorry to hear that you aren't feeling very well. I hope you will feel better after you have a sleep

Annie - I imagine you must be busy with your packing etc, or perhaps sleeping because of your meds. Whatever you are doing, I hope you are ok, I missed seeing a post from you on here today? But of course it's earlier there, so perhaps you will post when I have gone to bed. Hope all is well

Bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi
