Hello!

I had a fabby weekend away with the "boys"

I'm super-tired today though, I'm taking 2 days off my lifting but I'm still teaching tonight and training tomorrow. I might re-introduce lifting tomorrow seeing how I feel like.

So how are you?

Hi all. I can't believe I have another month of this heat... Oh well. I went to the gym this weekend and I was pouring with sweat. It was mainly the humidity in the gym but hey I was working out hard too I am sore and I think I am going to be able to get back on track with my work outs.

I have been doing really good with my food lately except with a bit of overindulgence with the dark chocolate during TOM. Could've been worse. I am currently reading the book Superfoods RX which is pretty good and explains why we should eat some foods rather than saying "eat your veggies and lean meats". I like it a lot.

Hi all! Had a great weekend, got lots done in the house and garden, and feel like I'm finally back on track with my workouts. Went to see the newly reopened American Art and Portrait gallery in DC. There is so much to see, it will take at least two more visits to see it all. The building itself is beautiful, worth a visit in itself.
.
Today went to the gym at 5:30 am after a good night's sleep and did a thorough lower body workout, as well as 20 minutes of cardio. Felt wonderful. Now I just have to STAY ON TRACK!

Nelie, it will take a few years, but you should get used to our humidity...your body will take some time to adjust. Do you think Superfoods RX is worth buying?

Fru, glad your weekend went well.

Susan

Hope everyone's weekend went well.

Susan

2Fru – Glad you had a good weekend. Hope your shoulder is feeing better. Take it easy superwoman!

nelie – WTG getting back to the gym! It can be so hard after you’ve been off track for a while.

Rabbit – Glad you had a good holiday!

Susan – No matter how long or sound I’ve slept I just can’t seem to handle pre-dawn workouts. I envy you!

Eating was just ok this weekend. The marine layer is back, giving us a break form the heat but it’s still muggy and can get quite grey out and it makes me just want to be a sloth. However I did an hour of yoga at home on Saturday, went to relaxation yoga yesterday afternoon and walked the dog to and from his class, and I’m going to kick-you-in-the-rear yoga tonight. I wish I had a nice hardwood floor space where I could have a little yoga studio at home. Heck, I wish I had all kinds of things you don’t get when you live in a 1 bedroom apt! Ah well.

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week!

Hi rabbit, glad you had a good trip!

No weights till Weds - was contemplating packing my gym stuff this morning, but I decided against it for some reason. I was going to run before kickboxing but I've realised that both pairs of trainers are at home

I taught my little kids last night. 2 of them turned up and they were both new!!!!!

Never mind, training for me tonight and I think I might be able to test for purple belt soon

Morning all! Woke before dawn (ugh!) and decided to get my workout in and then try to doze again....did Cathe Friedrich's CTX Upper Body workout, and I was pouring sweat by the end. Feel good and fried, and ready to try to get some more zzz's before work. Hope you all have a good day.

Hi rabbit, nice to see you back and nice to hear that you had a good trip.

Susan (am) - I really like Superfoods RX and I would recommend buying it. It is available in paperback form so it isn't too expensive. It does really make you want to eat good whole grains, veggies and lean meats

I'm still sore from my workout on Sunday and yesterday I was too tired to go to the gym. I came home and took a quick nap before dinner. When the DF got home, I felt like I could barely lift my head I was so tired. After eating dinner, I felt a lot better but it was already 8pm and I was still feeling a bit drained. I think I may be coming down with something because I feel drained again today.

Hello Ladies

Is it ok for me to join your group?

most of this year I was addicted to going to the gym than I got busy with my daughters prom and graduation stuff and took some time off from my workouts due to time...now I'm trying to get back into my old routine...I would like to workout out at least 5 days a week...I normally do between 45-60 mins of weights and 30 mins of cardio...I would like to tone up as I'm losing my weight and I would also like to build up muscle....I think I could learn alot from this group...I've been reading your posts for a while now and decided I would like to join you all..

Hi Donna Welcome!

Did cardio and a chest workout this morning. Two clients canceled on me...ya think the fact that it's 100 degrees here has anything to do with it???? So I went a got a much needed haircut and look human again Will head back to the gym in an hour or so to see if my afternoon clients are any braver.

I sure don't feel like doing anything either. I don't know if it's the heat or the accumulated stress of a lousy summer, but I would just like to go to sleep for about 4 months. At least I'd rather sleep than eat, for a change Food has been on track. I need to tighten up my weekends a bit, but good otherwise.

Have a good one,
Mel

Argghhh. Count me in the sleepy bunch! I had just gotten to sleep last night (10:30 ish) when it caught very windy - enough to wake both of us up - and within 5 minute we were having a downpour of rain. The gutters and downspouts sounded like someone had a hose in them! That lasted about 20 minutes. I got back to sleep and then at 3ish the cats started rattling the back screen door to go out. Knowing from experience that nothing helps - I got up and let them out (into a still steady rain). Back to bed and dozed knowing they wouldn't stay out long - sure enough, about 4:15 they want back in. Finally back to sleep, and someone (a cat? DH?) knocked over something metal in the kitchen about 5:15. Gads, what is a girl to do to get some sleep??? Shut off the alarm and slept until 7 (instead of 6) and just determined I'd go into work late. Still sleepy though, which is making me crave something carby and sweet. Fortunately there's nothing here at work to fill the bill, and I will eat my hard-boiled egg in 1/2 hour or so. Fortunately since I was already going to be late, I still gathered my clean foods for the rest of the day.

DH is leaving for Massachusetts this afternoon. He is so not looking forward to the heat/humidity. And while some of the places he'll be have A/C (like, fortunately, our niece's house where he's staying), the church where the funeral will be is not. Hopefully the weather will cool down by Friday.

Me and the cats are holding down the fort here til Friday night when I leave for a few days vacation and a conference in Eugene Oregon. Cats will be on their own (with someone in to feed them and clean the litter box) from Sat til next Tues night when DH gets back. Hope they're not up for wild parties!

I think I know what is wrong with me besides the heat. My sinuses are acting up. I really think moving to an area that you aren't used to will aggravate your sinuses. I was all stuffy today and as soon as I walked out doors, I felt like I couldn't breathe. A little sinus medication has helped.

Today was supposed to be a gym day but I couldn't go to the gym without my gym partner. My gym partner ended up working late. So I did my Push DVD which I got from the free trial. I have to say that I loved the workout. It was challenging (I should note that I chose level 2 in arrogance) and fun. There were exercises that I could've never imagined doing. I think I should've eased my way into it with level 1 but I think that I will get better and I like a good challenge.

Yooo hoooo!

I'm doing my purple belt test on Saturday!

Oh and the dress is here!

I've got a stupid expression on my face and you can see my underwear - but apart from that it's all good!! It's a little snug, so more clean eating. I have 3 months in which to remove about 7lbs.

Slightly annoying is the fact that when I got out of the shower this morning I could see my ribs. So.... I can already see my ribs but I must lose MORE to fit into the dress a bit better! I've been down there before (It fit perfectly when I first tried it on) so I can darn well do it again!

Having a week off weights this week and concentrating on cardio - shoulder dodgy today after stupid hook punches that I have to do for my grading. Going to find Dr's number today....
