Default 300+ And Ready to Try Again #965

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Welcome Sugarkube & Nightkatt, sorry for the delay and thanks for the well wishes. Nightkatt how do you manage to keep breaking your ankles? I fell down the garden steps with a bucket of heavy washing, though the ankle has always been weak since I was knocked down as a child.
I confessed to Ammi that I haven't been eating properly since Tuesday , I feel pretty ashamed, it wasn't just the fall, Steve has shown me NO SYMPATHY at all, I've had to do lunch & dinner since Wednesday;we had a takeaway on Tuesday; he got the boys up & sorted so I could lie-in BUT I still had to vacuum and tidy up, wash pots which won't go in the dishwasher and do ironing!!! He had three days off to LOOK AFTER me????!!!
So there's my excuses now I've moaned (SORRY) so I will weigh in in a minute, sigh or cry and get back to getting healthy, even if I can't exercise I can eat right.
Valerie, it won't be long now before you can back him, will it? has he had a saddle on his back yet? I was dreaming ; literally!; of going riding again when we visit my parents, I was hoping to canter & maybe go over some jumps, I just hope my ankle, LEFT OF COURSE!!!! heals and gets strong in the three-four weeks before we go.
Patti, I'm sure things will improve soonxx
There are so many people who I meant to mention, but the pain & tabs are making me a bit MORE forgetful than normal.
I will have to post again later when I've re-read everyone's posts.

Good morning all!
Hope everyone is well. I've been so busy this week (with my MIL in for a visit) that my eating and exercise have been a little off. I'm trying to stick with eating decently and squeezing in a walk here and there, though.

I'm thinking about looking for a decent used bike to mix up my exercise routine. Anybody else ride one? Any recommendations (or warnings!)?

My doctor's appt. is a week away and I'm hoping to have lost. I think I might have because I have a couple pairs of pants that are pretty baggy feeling.

Good luck to everyone over the weekend! Hope you are all losers! lol

MISTI, the veggies I found were all made in local areas by other farms. I’ll try to find the one in Michigan (they ship anywhere) when I have time later.

ABBEYCAT, You are doing FANTASTIC! Keep up the great work and don’t let TOM get you down!

NIGHTKATT, It doesn’t matter so much EXACTLY what the scale says – You’ve started a journey towards better health and lower weight no matter what. Isn’t it exciting to see progress, even if the silly scale change doesn’t tell you precisely how much. Drinking water is really important because that’s how your body flushes out the burned calorie waste, so it would be good if you could drink a little more.

HPNOTQ, Congrats on going OVER on your exercise goal! Glad to see you popping in. I’m a little, well, absent myself sometimes, but I love it when I can get back here!

SHARON, I’ve been lunging him with the saddle on and he’s pretty good about it even when the irons shake down and flop around. I don’t know if we’ll get all the way to backing him this weekend. The girl who will be first up on him is in Pony Club and is a good little rider, but not that experienced, and this will be her first time backing a horse. I want to make sure I return her to her parents in one un-bruised piece. Last night when I told her to go ahead and lean on him (from atop a stool next to him) she leaned for too long with too much trust. I had to tell her quickly just a few seconds the first few times. If he swung his rear away she’d have landed on the floor. I’m not sure who’s more excited about this, me or her, but I’d almost bet she is. I’ll keep you posted. * I hope your ankle feels better soon. Sounds like something you’ll always have to be careful of, but I’m sorry that it’s causing you pain now!

NEWSNERD, I hope things are back on track once your MIL’s visit is over.

PATTI, I’m glad to hear your DH is working on the weight with you. It helps SO much to just cook one type of meal. I hope your head is feeling better too!!!

DAY ONE back on the plan. I’ve done well, in spite of having to actually touch bread for those I was making breakfast for. None of the evil stuff touched my lips!!! It’s full steam back down Big-Butt Mountain – Yee-haw!!

I will post again later to everyone else BUT I hopped on to catch up on reading and say that after being on for a few days now, I am actually DOWN six pounds. Out of the blue this morning when I got on -- down six! I was shocked since I hadn't been down any of the other days before. And even though my focus ISN'T the scale, it is fun to see it move! And my hubby -- who only has 35 pounds to lose -- was down eight! (Go testosterone!)

Have a fabulous Saturday and I will post later, chickies!!!

Hello! I'm new here and THINK that I'm just supposed to jump into one of these big discussion threads to chat and get to know you all. This is a new way of dealing with a forum for me, so I'm a bit confused!

Anyway, Hi! <waves>.

Hi Everyone

Yes Mel just jump right in and say whatever you feel like. Tell us how you're doing, if you're having probs, etc. It seems to be an 'anything goes' thread!

Sugarkube you're doing awesome, big congrats on 6 pounds. Yay!

My TOM depression and grumpiness is less today finally after a few days of it. I always feel more tired out during those days, does everyone else get that too? I was on the BCP for a lot of yrs and I had pretty much nothing for years.. no cycle really at all, and now that I'm off of it everything has just gone nutso. Anyway I usually have to take afternoon naps on that one week a month but my other days I don't get drowsy.

My weight has been up and down all week so who knows what it will say on Tuesday but the following week hopefully things will kick back into gear. I'm not stressing about it, I've had great results up to this point!! Best I've ever done actually, in my many years of dieting. For me, the calorie counting is the key.

Another weird thing too.. I just got a new scale when I started this thing 4 weeks ago and it's a stand on digital type.. health-o-meter or something I think. I find it's really fussy about where you stand on it. I can get a 1-2 pound range so I usually do it a few times and take the number that comes up the most.

Hi everbody! Help you made it successfully today!

And Mel... yep you got it... just jump right in! And !!!!! Feel free to share as you are comfortable... we are here to support and encourage you! This is a GREAT group!!! Sometimes we have to each other too but we don't talk too much about that.

Valerie that is good to know they ship the munchies anywhere! I sure don't want to have to give up these things. They are my favorite munchies ever. I have thought about trying to make some with my dehyrdator but not going to happen if I can find a place to buy them this winter. Also my market was out of them for nearly a month!!!

Hey a funny... I emailed one of my friends about these... she googled "Janzen Fams" and "chips" and got ONE entry.... my post and this thread.

Woo hoo I had a neat NSV today. Several times I have tried to climb out of the pool by the ladder but my arms and legs were not strong enough to haul my big fat body up the steps! Well today I decided to give it a try... and wow, right up I went! The first two steps were simple and I was stunned. The top one was a bit harder since the rail curved around and not as easy a place to hold on... and the step was higher up onto the concrete. But I just took a deep breath and up I went! Yay!!!!!!!

I am getting stronger!!! The weight is going off soooooooooooooooooooooo slowly right now, but I am losing inches as I can wear stuff that I couldn't before. I STILL want that scale to go down though... some of you need to get after that Fairy Fat Mother again!!!

Abbeycat I know what you mean.. I too am having to learn not to stress about the scale not going down much! Ah well...

Today we have had such nice cool weather... it was 59 this morning when I went out and worked out in the pool. But I love it when no one else is there and I can get out all my workout toys.

With the horrid heat we had and the big exercise goal I had set, I got behind the past couple weeks too but yay I am only 26 minutes away from making it!! Yippeeeeee!

Keep up the good work, everyone! For all of us there are "down" times and discouragements but keep keep keep going!

Hpnotq - hiya, nice to see you posting

Sharon - I have broken my ankle in numerous ways lol .. there were a few when I was breaking in horses (they would break me in too!), a few times in car accidents (I have been in 14 - none of which I was driving, but I was the only one hurt in all of them lol), once when I was swimming and a roof rack that had been in the surf knocked me down after hitting my ankle and breaking it again (had only just healed so was still weak), and the last time was stepping down a step on the bus on the way to the hospital to check up on my other ankle rofl .. I misjudged the height of the step and landed on it wrong .. imagine how funny it was me getting rolled into the ER only to ask them to tell the radiology dept that I may be late roflmao .. even I had to giggle ... but Im definitely a clutz .. have also had broken cheek, nose (numerous times), wrist, rib, dislocated shoulder, whiplash, a back injury and a few torn ligiments .. I used to be called radiation girl cos I had so many X-rays rofl. Still .. I survived everything so thats a plus lol .. the only thing is that once you break a bone its easier to break it again so please dont be hard on yourself at how easily it happened again. And hopefully things will get better for you this next week.

Newsnerd - I used to do bike riding, but will wait til I have lost more weight I think, my balance isnt the best lol .. but make sure whichever one you do end up getting has really good breaks, thicker tyres with good tread is great for different road conditions, have a repair kit and pump with you at all times and get one of those water bottles that attach to the bike and put cold water in them to be able to rehydrate you as you bike. Dont aim for too far to start with, but gradually build it up, just remember to watch out for saddle sores lol .... it can almost be as bad as riding a horse after a long time lol ..

2F4U - hopefully your headaches will go away .. I had them when I first stopped eating chocolate for a few days, it could be your bodies withdrawl from something maybe?? Anyway, good luck.

Valerie - WTG on not touching the evil bread demon lol .. I must admit its something I am very happy to still be allowed a little of on the JC plan lol .. bad enough giving up chocolate lol .. keep up the great work And thatnks for your support .. have filled up 2 750ml bottles of water which I am determined to get through each day ... do feel a little bloated with so much water tho .. but will try to keep it up

Sugarkube - big WTG on your weight loss hun Im sure that has made your day and will encourage you to continue .. nothing like a good weight loss to give you more motivation to keep it going

Mel - Hiya and welcome to 3FC, jump right on in for sure .. they are lovely people and very supportive on here

Abbeycat - from one cat to another keep your chin up ... would be so great if men had that TOM thing with all the side effects lol .. mind you .. I do know some guys that I really have to hold myself back from asking if its that time of the month lol .. I have probs with my TOM too .. I havent had a reg one for YEARS .. some times months go by without one .. then I have a whole month of one rofl .. definitely depressing and I do get rather moody by the end of it ... so my weight loss will always be something I wont be sure of .. I think I will more go by size (as in by clothing sizes lol) .. hopefully it will settle down as my weight goes down tho.

Misti - WTG on your new success, I havent even got to the point where I will go to the pool yet ... but it sure gives me hope Keep up the great work ... like you said .. even tho the scale doesnt show it, your clothing does

Am feeling better today and remotivated too. On the down side my hunny is going back to the city today, so another week without him here, still ..it makes the weekends more exciting.

Well done to everyone that has lost weight this week ... and good luck all for next week for whatever goals you set yourselves
