Yes, that also happens to me. It generally means that you leaning to far forward and are up on the balls of your feet. Try to place your feet flat and push with your heels, not the balls of your feet. To do this, you'll have to avoid leaning forward. When I have the correct posture, it feels like I am leaning slightly backwards (although when I look in the mirror, I can see that I'm not).
Much as I try to make sure I do all of this, it requires a lot of concentration so I still get numb toes frequently. Always in my left foot because that foot just absolutely does not want to stay flat. So another (maybe easier) solution is to not do the elliptical for as long. Do it for only 15 minutes and them move to another machine.
