Numb Toes
Does anyone have an issue with their toes getting numb after using the ellipitcal? It is usually with my outside 2 or 3 toes. I changed shoes a few times to see if that was solve the problem but it didn't do anything. Any ideas?

Yes, that also happens to me. It generally means that you leaning to far forward and are up on the balls of your feet. Try to place your feet flat and push with your heels, not the balls of your feet. To do this, you'll have to avoid leaning forward. When I have the correct posture, it feels like I am leaning slightly backwards (although when I look in the mirror, I can see that I'm not).
Much as I try to make sure I do all of this, it requires a lot of concentration so I still get numb toes frequently. Always in my left foot because that foot just absolutely does not want to stay flat. So another (maybe easier) solution is to not do the elliptical for as long. Do it for only 15 minutes and them move to another machine. - Barbara |
When I was getting numb toes when I ran it was because I need orthotics. Check to see a good podiatrist or a chiropodist. My mother's numb toes were caused by her diabeties... Could be several things...

The only reason i ever had numb toes (actually it was only one toe, and it was numb for...like, 6 months!) was because i needed to get an adjustment at the chiropracter. My skeleton gets off balance every now and again and my nerves go all wacky. Once the thing that went numb was the side of one of my hands. Strange, i know.
