Default Shin splints

I recently starting jogging again and have been having trouble with shin splints, even from walking to classes too... I used to get them in high school when I played soccer and they would tape them, but it never seemed to do much good. They are really quite bothersome now and since I don't have axcess to a gym until late august to use an eliptical this is my best mode of exercise right now.

Any suggestions? Stretches? Shoes? Ideas?

Hi PinkSnowDays,

I'm having the same problem... and after talking to a lot of people and reading about it, it looks like the most common advice is rest combined with strengthening and stretching exercises.
