I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.
There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!
Sharon - thanks for the info on the show I will definitely watch it when it starts just to see what it's like. I have never watched X Files, but I know what the show is like. Should be interesting.
to Aiden for going without nappies now, woohoo, let's hope you don't have too many accidents to contend with Does he get a reward after he does his first poo on the toilet?
Patti - that's great that WW is helping so much and that you have realised too that you don't need to exercise quite so much to get good results. I am sure your foot and leg are glad of that too
Misti - thanks so much for your kind words about my making personal replies to everybody. It does take a lot of time sometimes, but I love reading all that people write, and then I am such a chatterbox I just have to say something about it
Have you been to the thrift shop yet. I know what you mean about not being able to get plus sizes normally at those shops. I love it when I give a load of bigger clothes away to them because I know some other big person wil have a field day when they actually find some huge clothes available for a change
Did you go to the plus size shop too, how did those 1X clothes fit?
I hope on Monday you will see a loss on the scales, it's about time that nasty machine was nice to you!
Tracey - sorry that it's so hot over there. Humidity is a killer isn't it. It's quite humid here today, but nothing like you are having!
Do tell, what is a waterbug? Whatever they are I am sorry they are a nuisance but I am glad that your kitty loves to keep them under control
As for exercising, could you do something in your room with the AC on, it might keep you cool enough to manage a little bit of exercising. Failing that is there any chance you could go swimming? I am sure that's a good exercise in those temps you are having there?
Okie dokie, going to have a bit of a lie down now before it's tea time. So bye for now,
Ammi & Sharon – Thanks for the tip about Doctor Who / Torchwood. I went to the BBC site and read about it – it looks like it could be a fun show too. I just thought it was so strange how they just left Jack there. While I was on the site, I read that Billie Piper is also leaving after the end of series 2. It is such a good show, I don’t understand why they can’t hold on to the people.
Kayley – I am amazed you can walk in heals like that. I can barely wear heals at all, but then I have odd feet. They are almost totally flat and very wide, so I can almost never find nice shoes to wear anyway. I am glad you liked the JMS Yoga. I find it very calming and strengthening. I really like that it has a plus size instructor (she also just came out with a book). My one slight issue with the dvd is the end of the workout – she leaves you in a deep meditation and the session ends and goes back to the music at the menu of the dvd – if I wasn’t careful I could end up laying there for a long time! Oh, and the soup ended up edible – it was quite hot, but actually quite good. I am just glad he didn’t put in 2!
Idril – That is fantastic that your Dad noticed your loss. 20 pounds is great!!
Misti – I have been holding off buying clothes but I think I am going to have to soon. Searching for a thrift store that has larger sizes is a good idea. I just hate to waste money on something I hopefully won’t be able to wear in another 6 months.
Tracey – It was so hot the day before I went in for my procedure, but I basically haven’t been outside since (and we are lucky to have air-conditioning). I am thinking of venturing out today – not sure where though. I was thinking the mall to go to a movie, but I want to be careful about too much walking too soon.
I am waiting for my BF to get up - he had to work most of the night last night so he is really tired out. I think I will try to get out of the house today for at least a little bit - make him drive me around. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Man today I am in a very PISSY mood.. dont know why,, just am,, I dont want to be social at all today.. You will have days like that.. My family is having a cookout today, and I opted not to go.. then Mom had forgotten something and comes back to the house and says.."it is a shame you are on a diet, there is so much good food there!" god , I need out on my own again,, I cant take much more of this living with family bull crap.. I am soooooooooooooooo over it!!!!!!!!!
Ammi - Yes, we have mousse here, so I guess that's the same thing you have - but I've never tried it!! Flexible? Not enough, lol! Toe painting comes with not breathing for 1/2 of it!! LOL! ....The price of pampering, haha!
Hello Everyone - Having a good day so far...although it's only 11:30am, lol! DH is off to work for a annoying shift - 1130-830....ruins the whole day! His B-Day is tomorrow and he works nearly all of it! 6am-2pm, then back for inventory from 5-7pm! GRR!! Anywho, I decided on an early lunch cause I hadn't eaten anything since I woke up - I was choosing, lol! - and made up a GREAT sandwich...a kaiser roll, with lean ham, cheese, cucumber, light mayo...yum!! Only 340 cals!! The cheese I had was REALLY thin cut cheddar, it was soooo good, I've been having cheese strings for so long I forgot what REAL cheese tasted like...I remember now....IT'S GOOOOOD! LOL! Don't know if I mentioned this or not, but the pictures I took of my town that I posted on the Pictures Page have been accepted to put on our towns website! BUT, it seems to be taking them forever to put them on there...I hope they make it there. Weight was were I hoped it to be this morning...hopefully I will have a "standard" 2 pound loss again next Tuesday. We will see! Oh, and considering I asked the Q...my "treat" is lemon pudding...mmmm, 130 cals and 4g fat...it's the worst thing in my diet nutrition wise...and I'm okay with that!
Have a good one and stay OP!!
Melissa
P.S. Does anyone know this character ----> He's the "It's Peanut Butter Jelly Time" guy, lol, I love when Brian (the dog) does it on Family Guy, hahaha!
I am in the mood to go OFF plan for dinner, I have nothing for dinner that is SBD, I wont be to the grocery store till Monday, so I am not sure what I will be having, I will report back and let you know what I did and how it went...Take Care all
Nancy - I didn't even think to look on the website about Torchwood. It sounds really good and it must be due to be shown pretty soon. Don't worry, I will let you know if it's as good as it sounds I totally agree with you that it's odd how Dr Who is losing it's actors all the time. It did say on a website that I read that Rose is leaving FOR NOW, so perhaps they'll leave it where you wonder if she is dead or not.
Crock - sorry to hear you are in such a bad mood, it can't help that you have no SB food in the house. I will be interested in hearing what you decided to eat. You said you are ready to move out on your own again, is there any way you can do that while you aren't working? hope your day improves my friend.
Melissa - on your comment about not breathing half the time it takes to paint your toe nails. I am still impressed that you can do it. I can only just now shave my own legs. Toe nail painting will have to come when I've lost a bit more weight
I hope despite having to work for most of his birthday that your BF will have a nice day
Your sandwich sounded gorgeous, and with real cheese too. I miss cheese a lot, a girl can get fed up of the cheat cheese I had a nice lunch today, a brown bread baguette with tuna and light mayo with cucumber. DELICIOUS
Kayley - congrats on another 4 lbs lost. 70 lbs is an amazing loss, have you lost it all since December?? However long it's taken you should be SO proud of yourself
Well I am off to bed in a minute so better go check my emails before I turn this thing off. Take care all, and bye for now,
Today was a bummy day for me... checked out the thrift shop -- drove all the way to Seattle -- what a dud! Then went to try out a new natural foods market... LOL eight of them would fit into the store I usually go to. Oh well did splurge on a bit of new makeup.
I want to just lie around here and read; however, I am going to get my butt in gear and get out to the pool and try to beat off a few bits of fat.
Yes..... the rumors are indeed true. I am still alive.
Live has a way of getting crazed, doesn't it? I have been working so many hours the past few weeks, I've just not had many opportunities to get here. I lurked for a while, and at least tried to keep up with your lives...I thought of you often. Then...crazier still.... I've missed the past week even reading. SO, I have a few threads to catch up on, needless to say. I read the past couple, just to try to catch up, but I will go back and try to read them all
Seriously.... I have been getting up at 5:45, at work by 7 am and rarely home before 9pm. Today was the first day in 3 weeks that I haven't been at work, including weekends.. and I start back up tomorrow. But, I feel like the routine is starting to settle and I'll be able to control it a bit more. And,... with July 4th coming up, there is a long weekend at the end of the next 6 day stint. But when you're responsible for a staff of 50 and you're working with 7,000 new students and about 13,000 of their parents in a short 6 weeks, you can't always predict your days . Stress and long hours comes with the territory. People have needs, right?? lol ... but.. I LOVE my job. Wouldn't trade it for anything else.
There are so many new people here in just the short time I've been away --- now I feel like a newbie all over again! Feels funny to say WELCOME to the newbies who might not feel like newbies anymore, but WELCOME to all who I have not met!! And BIG HUGS to everyone -- I've missed you. New jobs, relationship highs and lows, great NSVs, emotional roller coasters, health issues.....wow... I've missed a lot. I'm so sorry -- hope you havent forgotten me or given up on me totally.
The good news? I'm down another 3.5 since last you saw me 2 weeks ago.
That makes a grand total of 44.5 for me. I will be seeing my family in Michigan for the first time since Christmas at the end of July--- I'm REALLY wanting to lose as much as I can by then. Probably a reasonable goal would be an even 50 by then... but I'd love to do more. God forbid I should gain, but then, I've done that a couple of times along this journey, too. ack.
BUt here's to all of us --- for working it out... for being strong....and for taking control of our lives! Yay US!
p.s. Ammi--- I think it was you who said something about being in Subway and not being sure what to do because you didn't know the point value. Have you ever heard of Dotties Weight Loss zone? It's a great place on the web that lists TONS of restaurants and the point values for their food. I think I remember that you're not supposed to post links to other websites... so if anyone wants it and can't find it, send me a private message and I'll give it to you.
Well, my weigh-in was bad as expected. I gained 3.2. Although until just now I thought I had gained 4.2 because the lady did the math wrong in my book and just now I looked at it and realized I had only gained 3.2 so that is a small consolation. I have to say I get really irritated when they do the math wrong in our weight trackers. I mean, really, it's simple addition and subtraction and those numbers are important to us so get it right!!!! I would say at least once a month they get the math wrong. The accountant in me just can't abide that! Fortunately my WW center is finally joining the rest of the world in the 21st century and getting computers so within the next few weeks I won't have to rely on a human to do the math right. ;-)
Anyway, just got in from a nice long walk and am feeling alot better than I have all day. Funny how exercise will do that, eh? I have to admit I was really down today. I even made an batch of No Pudge brownies with every intention of eating the whole thing throughout the day. But I did stop myself after 12 points worth of brownies and then I threw the rest out. Granted, I shouldn't be eating 12 points worth of brownies, but it could have been much much worse. Another victory I had was even after I beat the brownie monster then I wanted to order pizza delivery. I had it all planned to order in pizza and stuff my face with that and ice cream. I batted the idea around in my head back and forth I don't know how many times, but finally I realized that all I would do is feel really bad for failing again today and I actually stopped a binge before it happened....if you ignore the 12 point brownies, that is. And considering some of the binges in the past, 12 points is nothing. So today is a good day and the start of a good week for me.
Mel - I feel ya about the long work hours. My job can get like that sometimes and it can really wear you out. Kudos to you for still being able to lose a few more pounds even through all that. I rarely fare so well. Good job!
Kayley - Another milestone weightloss...70!!!! You are doing awesome!
That's about all for me for tonight. Going to go sack out in front of the tube and chill for awhile. Yes, my life is really exciting....NOT!!!
