Hi Ladies,

Feeling a bit better right now. I'm not sure if it is the sinus meds or the cold getting better. Hopefully the second one. LOL. I hate summer colds. I have been doing nothing but searching for houses to look at and then when my hubby gets home we go and look at the areas. Tomorrow we are supposed to go and look at a couple of them on the inside. One is a whopping 3800 square feet. My hubby told me we don't need that kind of room with just the two of us but hey, if it is the same price range as the others and it is on 8 acres then why not look at it at least. LOL. I really think that the top is like 1800 square feet and they remodeled the basement for the rest of the square feet. Still, big house for the money. The other one is a cutie pie in the woods on 5 acres. Both of these homes are only about a year old or so.

Sharon: Huge hugs to you and pick kick in the A#@ to Steve. You are so precious I just can't stand the cruel things he says to you. I have felt this way from day one of meeting you here. You deserve to be loved and cherished like a princess. Hang in there and If you ever need to talk, pm me and I'll at least be able to email you or something. Hugs

Val: Hi my friend. Have fun at the horse show. I'm glad that you went to Curves. I am hoping to jump back in on Monday. My hubby brought my bike in the house and put it right in the lvingroom so I can ride it while I watch TV or something. I have been a bad girl not really following my plan. I haven't eaten too badly but I have drank lots and lots of juice which is so high in the carbs. I skipped weighing last Friday just in case. LOL. I will be getting back on track Monday. I am going to jump back down to my Phase I for the week for good measure. I'm actually looking forward to it. Kiss Simon for me. LOL

Patty: Wahoo 299 you go girl. I'm so happy for anyone of you ladies who make it out of the 3's. You just need to stick around here and cheer me on as I get into the threes. LOL

Nancy: Wahoo for you to hon, getting into the 2's Way to go. Im thrilled for you ladies. All getting so thin and in shape physically feeling better.

Ammi: Big hugs my friend. I am so blessed to have you. I remember a few months ago when you didn't want to exercise and you just weren't ready. LOL Look at you riding the GAzelle for more than 10 minutes at a time. You are amazing and such a big inspiration to me. Thanks for always reminding me about how I used to feel so I can be proud of that accomplishment of missing my exercises. You are so right. Who would have ever thought I would miss exercising. LOL.

Kayley: Yippeee! A great job, new clothes and a bonus -4 more pounds. You are truly on a roll sweetie. Good job.

Mel: Congrats on the -3.5 Weigh to go. LOL

Crock: Hope things cheer up for you at home soon hon. Big hugs to you.

Everyone else, Be blessed and stay as wonderful as you are.

Oh damn, I lost my post!!!
Kayley, WELL DONE 70lbs, WOW Your Aunt better see the difference xxxx
Mel, great to see you back AND with a loss, even though you've been so busy!!
Crock, you ought to go out for a drive, buy something, shoot something, just to get out of the house!!! It must drive you crazy living at home, parents can be so frustrating (that's being polite!!!) xxx
Ammi, I will have to start exercising too, you are doing so well I don't want to be left behind!!!!!
Misti, sorry the clothes buying didn't go to plan but at least you got out of the house and went somewhere differentxxxx
Annie, 5 acres!!! Are you hoping to keep animals, grow your own veg & fruit or just enjoy some privacy? You are the PRINCESS , you always say the right thing and are so kind & thoughtfulxxxx

I hope everyone else is well & happy.
I lost 5lbs, instead of the six I thought, I'm a bit p***ed off but my fingers are all swollen and I feel a bit lethargic and achey, so as long as I stick to SBD (which I have so far) I know I'll see another good loss next week. If I add exercise from Monday; which I intend to do, as TOM is almost over; onwards I hope to have lost 10lbs by week two, I CAN dream!!!!

Hello All,

What a productive day I had. Talk about a NSV today. I, for the first time in about 4 years went out the back garden and cut the hedge all by myself, and picked up all the trimmings!!! Then I decided to clean the outside drain because it was smelling, all before coming in, having a shower and going downstairs to do a mile on my Gazelle Rider. All that, and I am not dying Yay me Of course tomorrow I will probably be crippled, but for now I am feeling fabulous.

Crock - you should be feeling pretty darn fabulous too, another 2 lbs down AND you decided to stay on plan yesterday despite really thinking about having an off plan meal. You should be so proud of yourself.

Xena - you too should be proud of yourself!! You stopped at 12 points with those brownies, AND you had a fight with yourself about getting a pizza, and your dieting self won out I am so pleased that you made the right decision Was it the gain that made you want to pig out in the first place, or were you just feeling blah anyway. I bet you are feeling much better now that you made the right food choices

Misti - good for you for going to the pool yesterday instead of sitting at home reading. Everybody seems to be really doing great at pushing themselve this weekend, it's wonderful

Mel - I had wondered where you had got to, and of course I have been thinking about how your foot is and if you went to the doctors about it. Did you? I guess with how busy you have been lately you haven't had chance to go.

Anyway it's lovely to see you back, oh and thank you for the heads up about Dottis. Yes I know the place well, I used to be a moderator on there at one time. I forgot all about the restaurant points list, I guess I didn't think to look because American fast food places tend to have different stuff to our version of the same place. I will still check it out just in case. Thanks for the reminder.

Well done on being another 3.5 lbs down I bet you will make that 50 lbs loss by the time you see your family at the end of July!

Annie - how's the house hunting going, did you go and see those two houses you mentioned. I must say the cute one sounds just that, but after being squashed into this little house of mine, the thought alone of that huge house you are going to see just gives me goosebumps

I am glad you are feeling better, and I too hope it's because you are losing the cold rather than just the meds working. I know you want to get back on track with exercise and eating so that cold better be prepared to take a back seat. I am sure when you weigh on Friday you will see a good loss.

OOH Gazelle news. The last 3 times I have done a mile on it I have been doing it quicker. I was 17 something minutes, then 16 something, and then today I was 15 minutes and 24 seconds. Only little amounts but an improvement none the less, AND I can now do the mile faster than what Daren has done it Yes it is weird to think how I wasn't up to exercising not so long back and now I would be on the thing all the time if my dumb feet wouldn't start hurting. For now I will settle for 2 miles a day.

Sharon - I don't think it's dreaming to want to lose 10 lbs in two weeks, you already lost the 5, and it was 6, so the lb you supposedly gained will only have been water weight for sure. You should be jumping for joy about the 5 lbs, it's awesome

I bet you can't wait for TOM to be over, what exercising are you going to do, your bike and the salsasize? I am so bored with that DVD now, but Beth has a more upbeat salsasize DVD, I think it's Angela Griffins, though I can't be sure. So if I keep getting fitter on my Gazelle, I might give that DVD a go at a later stage.

Ok time for me to go now, but I will be back later. Hope everybody is enjoying their Sunday. Take care and bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi

Good morning, girls. Just sitting here having my breakfast and catching up with what happened overnight here at 3FC. I love the weekends for that. I get to spend more time reading up on everyone here at my favorite place, the 300+ thread. Plus maybe sneak a peek at what is going on on some of the other threads.

Annie - I am glad you are starting to feel better. I know what you mean about those miserable summer colds. There is just something about being all stuffy and it being hot outside that makes it feel twice as bad. Have fun on the house search. That can be so much fun! Keep us posted.

Sharon - on the 5 pounds lost. Don't you worry about that other missing pound. You will lose it too soon enough.

Crock - Good job on another 2 pounds down. And even more impressive is that you didn't go off plan even though you thought about it and were going through all that frustration with your family. Sounds like you have really made a lifestyles change!!!!

Ammi - Look at you go!!! You're down what? 35 pounds now? And look what a difference it has made in your energy and your strength that you are out there doing yardwork and then following it up with a workout on your Gazelle! You're amazing!!! You asked me why I was feeling I wanted to stuff my face with pizza. Good question. I think there were a whole lot of reasons I wanted to. One, because I have been struggling the past two weeks and just generally not doing well at sticking to my plan so I feel a failure and that leads to me thinking, "You'll never be able to do this long term so you might as well stuff yourself today." Two, I didn't have anything planned with friends or anything yesterday and I think I was feeling a bit lonely. I mean, really, did I think a visit from the pizza boy was going to make me feel not so lonely?

My plans for today are to do some exercises with my hand weights while I watch Trading Spaces, then I am going to treat myself to a pedicure. And while I am getting pampered I am going to start reading my new book "1776". I just joined a book club at my local library and we are discussing it on July 11 which is the next time they meet. I also may treat myself to a little shopping trip at the scrapbook store. I've finally started to make a bit of progress on my Europe vacation scrapbook and now I am motivated. I did a class as the store last month and learned alot of new tricks. I also should shop for a new TV since I am stuck watching my tiny old one right now but I just don't want to think about spending that money at the moment to I may just try to get by with the old TV for a little while.

Anyway, hope you all have a lovely Sunday. Take care!

Kayley – Way to go on another 4 pounds and hitting the 70 lost mark!! You also made your July 4th goal. Very cool!!

Mel – Glad to hear you are hanging in there. I can’t even imagine how demanding such a large group of new students and parents must be. Congratulations on still being down through this tough time. That is amazing!

Xena – I sounds like you are really having some emotional eating rear their heads. Have you ever read any of the Geneen Roth books? Feeding the Hungry Heart and When Food is Love are two of them. There is NO WAY I would be able to be losing weight now if I hadn’t tackled those demons some time ago (not that they are fully exorcised, but we’re buddies now – I know their names ). Breaking that cycle of turning to food when we feel down, lonely, tired, bored, sad, etc. is one of the hardest things to do.

Annie – I hope the house hunting goes well. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Summer colds are the worst!

Sharon – 5 pounds is still great for one week, and if it is water it will be even more next week!

Crock – Congrats on the 2 pounds lost and for sticking to plan. You totally inspire me.

Ammi – That is such a fantastic NSV!!! Having the energy to trim the hedges by yourself and still doing your Gazelle? You are amazing!!

Oh yeah – the treat thing. I have a couple of things. First of all, the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. They come in a bunch of flavors and are either 140 or 150 calories. When I am in the mood for something a bit more than that, I take one of those (usually a peanut butter and chocolate flavor), slice it in half, put a half banana on that and then at a bit of FF whip cream. That adds around another 100 calories depending on how much whip cream you use. There are also the Jell-O sugar free puddings which have about 60 calories. A cool site I found awhile ago (I hope it’s ok to mention it here) is www.hungrygirl.com. Here’s one they recently did on frozen stuff: http://www.hungry-girl.com/girls/bit...s.php?isid=843

I am venturing outside for the first time today since I got home from the hospital. We are going to dim sum for lunch. It is one of the things I haven’t wanted to give up, but just have on a much less frequent basis now. I also try to stick with the steamed stuff and not stuff myself like I used to. I also need to pick up some salad fixings because I am determined to start taking my lunch to work. As my reward for hitting my last goal I am getting a special lunch box (on Amazon look up Mr. Bento) so I can bring a little salad, soup, and some other things – all packed up nice. I figure with all the time I will have in the next 3 weeks from not being able to exercise I can build the habit of making my lunch the night before.

I almost don't want to say anything but I got on the scale this morning and I am down 3 pounds. I refuse to get too excited (but I secretly am). Thank the Lord I get to change my ticker.

Crockett - I am looking at your avatar and you look smoking, honey. When I go food shopping, I plan to stock the house with Phase 1 foods. I went out and bought the book and I really like SB although the first two weeks will probably be a little hard for me. But I am a sugar, carb addict so I need that detox. Have you lost all that weight since February??? Regardless, congrats! You and Kayley are my inspirations when it comes to South Beach. It's very close to how I was eating before but that first two weeks without fruit is going to be tricky (I love fruit in the summer).

Arrow Re-committing

FANTASTIC TRACEY! I'm so glad to hear you've got a handle on it and are headed back on down. Seeing those first few pounds come off is so motivating!
MISS KAYLEY!! CONGRATS on the SEVEN-OH! WHOOP WHOOP!!!
I'm going to miss a lot of you that I really want to reply to - WELCOME BACK MEL!! - But we're leaving on the truck tonight and I have so much to pack and prepare. Hopefully I will be home for the weekend of the 4TH, but otherwise we'll be out about 3 weeks - until the 15-16th of July.

Since I'm really trying to recommit (I've been trying and slipping on an almost daily basis lately) I'm going to put my current goal in writing, to be held accountable. I posted it on Old Hens, but I hope you don't mind me sharing it on this main thread as well.

SO here it is, my promise in writing:
I PROMISE TO EAT RIGHT (as close to S.B. as possible) UNTIL I COME HOME IN JULY.
I PROMISE TO EAT ON THE TRUCK, NOT FAST FOOD OR TRUCKSTOPS UNTIL I COME HOME IN JULY.
I PROMISE TO EXERCISE EVERY DAY UNTIL I COME HOME IN JULY.
and I guess I'd better PROMISE NOT TO EVEN LOOK AT A SCALE UNTIL I COME HOME IN JULY.
(That's gonna be a tough one. I LUV to peek.)

I watched that horse show yesterday and I just wanna ride again SO much. (BTW, Nina won Grand Champion in her division.) I've come this far. I KNOW I can do this. I've already backed the scale off from 290 where it was threatening to go, and I just need to get back to where I was with this in January. I'm on a quest!

DOGPAL - Simon has just been kissed in your honor, with a few extras thrown in!
ZELMA - WHERE U B?

EVERYBODY - Be Well! DO Well! Treat yourselves Well! I'll try to lurk at least to keep up.

Xena - You're right, I have got so much more energy now, and really I am still huge. So just imagine how I will feel when I have lost another say 50 lbs. Or better still when I am at goal

Thanks for trying to answer my question about why you wanted to stuff your face, I am just glad that you were so good and didn't give in to pigging out. You should be really proud of yourself.

How wonderful that pedicure while you read sounds. It sounds like the ultimate pampering time for you. I hope you enjoyed it.

Crock - thanks for being pleased for me that I am more active now. It does feel great I must say How are you doing today?

Nancy - how did your first trip out after your surgery go? Did you enjoy your meal out?

I love the sound of the treat you like to have, aren't Skinny Cow icecreams just brilliant. I like the ones on a stick, but they tend to melt too quickly while we wait for a taxi to get home after shopping.

Thank you for the for my doing the hedges and having the energy still to do the Gazelle Rider. I did it one more time as well, so now I have done my two miles. I really must join the exercise thread soon.

Tracey - that is fabulous that you are down 3 lbs don't contain your excitement, you should be grinning from ear to ear, you deserve it!

Valerie - take care while you were away, and good luck with keeping to your promises to yourself re your diet. With a good attitude like that you are bound to do well. I am looking forward to hearing how much weight you have lost when you get back.

Bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi

Had another NSV yesterday, but I can't post it here! Hehehehehehe!!!!

Andrew just got off of work...he's working voluntary overtime...double time since it's a Sunday! $25 an hour...just can't turn that down! We're going to go and see "The Breakup" tonight, since I finally convinced him to go see it! (He LOATHES Jennifer Aniston). Lol.

In most of my shirts, I can't really tell that I've lost weight...but in these new ones that I bought, I actually CAN. So that means I need to buy loads more of them! LOL! I think it's because they aren't all stretched out like my t-shirts are.

Well, I'm OFF! Took a nap after work, as I only got like 2 hours of sleep last night, and I need to take a shower, and attempt to make myself look decent!

Ammi - The 70 pounds is indeed since December. December 12th, to be exact. I'm really really hoping to bypass the 100 pound mark by the 1 year! If not more. NICE NSV!!! You're doing awesome on that Gazelle, too!

Misti - I hear ya about the thrift stores. There's one around here that's really really nice, but of course, their biggest size is a 12. -sigh- One day!

Mel - It's good to see you posting, and congrats on your loss! Hopefully once you get all those new people taken care of, you'll be able to post more!

Xena - Sorry you saw a gain...but at least it was less than you thought it was going to be! GOOD FOR YOU!!! Not calling the pizza man, and you stayed within your points range with even your "mess up". It could have been a LOT worse, that's for sure!

Annie - Ooooh! Hope the house hunting goes well! Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better, and hope you feel TOTALLY better soon!

Sharon - Don't get too upset with yourself! You lost more than I did this week! You're doing awesomely! You WILL make it to -10 in two weeks, if not MORE!

Crock - Another 2 pounds this week! WAY TO GO! And congrats for not going off plan, when you really wanted to. Dieting can get SO hard sometimes. You're almost to -80! WOW WOW TRIPLE WOW!!!!

Valerie - But you just got baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack -whines-. And you're going to be gone for 3 whole weeks?!?!!
You are going to do awesome while you are away, and you are going to have an awesome loss to report, which will ALMOST make up for you being gone for so long. Okay, so I lied. It won't! But it'll still be fantastic!

Tracey - CONGRATS on that -3! Those first 10 are so great! And just think...that's just from cutting down how much you are eating...just think how the pounds are going to MELT off once you go shopping!

Kayley - I am really impressed at your weight loss since December, you and Crock are wonderful advertisements for how fantastic SB is for some people. You should both send your stories to the people who thought up the diet and let them use your stories to encourage others

Am pretty impressed with your NSV as well, especially as you went on to say you only got two hours sleep last night

Bye for now,

Hugs,

Hi Ladies - Didn't have a good night last night...didn't fall asleep until about 6am this morning. It's DH's b-day and he hasn't slept yet either...he has already work 6-230, then back from 5-830 or so! GRRR! Can't they give him a break on his birthday? He's already got overtime this week! Anyways, calories were OP yesterday - one good thing, lol! But now another bad thing...this month my MIL, FIL, and DH have all had Pinkeye...and after my nap this morning I woke up with it!!! NOOOOO!! (Pinkeye is a basic eye infection, your eye turns pink and such.) So while I'm just getting over DH probs, have my TOM, having pain everytime I swallow from my cold, and all that, I get to smear medicated goop on my eyeball! Geez! Well, lol, at least my WL has been on track so far this week.....okay, I'm off for now...hopefully some of you are doing better than I am!
Have a good day, and stay OP everyone!

Melissa
