Default So say you were starting a 2 week vacation from work, but were just staying around...

home chasing your kids and doing routine swim stuff. Say you got the brainstorm to not only re-dedicate yourself to health & fitness during this time of fewer conflicting priorities, but to maybe create a "spa"-type experience for yourself. What would it look like? I don't want to go nuts and end up with sprained muscles after 2 days. So what's a good amount? I was thinking kicking off the morning with cardio, doing either weights or yoga every day and some family activity - either a walk in the evening, a round of badmitton in the yard, something. And then really clean eating. Like a 2 week challenge. What could you really get done in 17 days without having to worry about work getting in the way............

What a wonderful idea! I would really go for the heath-spa idea: lots of fresh juices & nice salads, yoga everyday, and how about gving the kids a massage & then let them massage you??? if they are to small to massage, you can try to let them walk on your back. It's an oriental thing: you lay on the floor on your stomach, and the small child walks on your back. Nice if you have a sore back.
As for results: more muscle, more stamina, more relaxed state of mind & good fun with the family; weight wise I would guess 1-2 pounds each week.

have fun,
rabbit

What a good idea! I'd make sure that everyone got enough (but not too much) sleep as well. I'd also get everyone to make suggestions for exercise so we all did something we really liked (and perhaps tried something new or something we thought we didn't like).

This is nice. My sister (aged about 3) used to do it with Mum. I (aged about 12) used to lean gently on her back in the right place with my foot. It seemed to make all the difference to her.

Have a great time!

Sounds like a lovely plan you can put into the works - time to prepare great "spa" food, great presentation - relaxed eating - turning off the electronics - stuff like that. Love the yoga plan too.
