Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again...#892

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Sharon - Hehe...when I'm UP, I'm really up, but when I'm down, I'm so far down, no one can get me....hehe. Hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Ammi - In Psychology yesterday, someone asked a question about how to find a good therapist/counselor...and she said that if they do more talking than listening, and if they try to force what THEY think is wrong without listening to you, they probably aren't very good at what they do...and if they try to medicate you right off the bat.

Zelma - Ooooh! Your hair is fab!!! And you look really great!!! So glad you had a good time at the casino! They are building one around here, and it's going to be massive. Going to create a lot of revenue, and they are going to put up a waterpark and such...so it's not going to be rural in New Buffalo (where they are putting it) for long...and it's supposed to take a year to complete, so I'll be able to go right after my birthday...next year. (You have to be 21 to get into most casinos around here).

Brenda - on kicking that plateau out the DOOR! You're going to catch up to me soon!!!

Lilion - So good to see you! Whatever happened with Wyoming? I may have missed...

Tracey - It sucks to be immobilized for even a short period of time...don't hurt yourself, hun.

Nancy - Wow...I'm going to have to look that up and see what you are talking about...I wish you the best of luck at the doctor in May! Hopefully, it gets everything taken care of! When are you and your b/f going to have that talk?

I hadn't been on Fitday in a long time, but it re-motivated me to my weight loss!!!

Weight Goal Stats
Current Weight
Your weight is 290 lb as of 04/28/2006.
Weight Goal
Your goal is to weigh 200 lb by 06/02/2007
Goal Progress
You are currently 90 lb above the target weight.
The deadline for your goal is 400 days (57 weeks, 1 days) away.
To meet your goal you need to lose about 1.58 lb per week

That weight loss is totally Do-able! I did 30 mins of dancing around here...lol...to my music. It was SUPER high impact as I was jumping around, and I even jogged for THREE minutes. LOL...that's huge for me...hehe. So chalking today up as a good one. I've got Andrew's digital for the night, so expect some pictures this weekend sometime...oi. LOL...maybe I'll get a full body shot in a shirt more flattering....hehe.

Mom and I went to lunch today, and did a little shopping, and got a bunch of seeds for veggies. Going to grow our own broccoli, two kinds of lettuce, and three different kinds of squash. Getting our tomato plants in the ground soon, and I even got Jack-o-lantern pumpkin seeds for this Halloween!

I have two interviews scheduled for Monday. I've got one at 11:30 in the morning...they say it's for a marketing job...we'll see what it really is...lol. And then, at 6:30 pm, I have one for a call center...they say it's not telemarketing, and if it turns out to be, I'm NOT doing it. Been there done that, and I couldn't take it. They said it was taking service calls, and scheduling appointments, and it was $15.00 an hour to start...so I hope it's really what they say it is! Also left messages at three other places, one of which was being paid to be a political activist. Take down the MAN. Haha...

Well, I'm going to go outside, and enjoy the rest of the day. I'll be back later. Hope you are all enjoying it as well.

Good Evening All,

I am just about through day 5, another day gone, woohoo. Don't worry I will stop counting after the first week I just want to make it through that and then I will breathe a bit easier.

Brenda - to raise that kind of money would be awesome and you sure are going the right way having raised so much already. Apart from the satisfaction of raising so much money to help, is there any reward for raising the most money?

Crock - ok so you don't turn into the HULK, that's too funny how your nephew thinks of you as Spiderman and him the Hulk. I stand corrected now

Patti - I can't work out listening to music, but I do love to do my housework with music blaring. I even bought a CD called housework songs, it's a compilation of feel good songs that put a spring in your step when you have jobs to do.

Tracey - I am sorry that your ankle is still bad. Please be very careful about taking pain killers and exercising on Monday. You may mask the pain, but if you do more damage than good, the pain will come full force as soon as the meds wear off and you might set your exercising back even further. Is there no other exercise you could do which would let you rest your ankle? Swimming perhaps?

Nancy - I am sorry that it wasn't better news at the doctors, but at least you have an alternative to the hysterectomy and I don't blame you for taking that option. I will have to look the procedure up on the Net because I have never heard about it before.

Well done on going back to work after your appt. Did you enjoy your work out at the gym afterwards?

Kayley - that's interesting what you told me about what was said in your psychology class. My counselor always talks more than me, in fact some days I have found myself trying to get a word in edgeways about something that is bothering me before my hour is up. She's a good nutritionist, a nice lady, but I think as a counselor she isn't much cop.

That is wonderful that you and your mum are growing to grow some of your own vegetables, including of course pumpkins for halloween. I would love to grow my own vegetables, but where I live, if people see you have anything like that they will come into your garden and help themselves. I used to have two pots of beautiful roses in the garden. It wasn't long before kids emptied them onto the garden and stole the pots. It sucks.

I am glad you have two interviews for Monday and I hope you have some luck with at least one of them. You will have to let us know how you get on.

Good on you for the high impact dancing and of course the 3 minutes of jogging. I bet you couldn't have done that a couple of months ago. That should tell you how great you are doing even if you can't see it!

Well time to get some sleep, early night for me, I have been so busy today. Go me, lol. Have a good weekend all,

Hugs,

Ammi

Crock - enjoy your exercise. You will have to tell me how you get on with the Gazelle Rider. I really want to buy one, but I need some more assurances that they are good.

As for your math class, I am right there with you, why do we need it lol, as long as you can do your sums, and multiplication tables you can give algebra and all that stuff a miss in my book

LOL see you ARE the HULK, now people must learn not to make you angry

Have a nice night,

Hugs,

Ammi

Whew! I got in another 60 minutes of exercise! Mom and I were going to take a walk down to the Industrial Park, and see about digging up some pretty rocks/stones to put in the garden...well, I decided I wanted to see if I could jog to the stop sign (about 2 city blocks, or about 1/6 of a mile, Mom believes)...well, I got halfway, jogging at a GOOD speed, and stopped...had to stretch for a minute, and then jogged the other half. I was SO proud of myself for making it...my lungs were burning, and I could FEEL it in my calves so much...sorry if it seems like I'm bragging, but I'm just so HAPPY for me...hehe. Then, we dug up rocks, which was a LOT of bending over, and I was out of breath a LOT...going up and down hills, and such. Then, we walked back.

Ammi - That's a shame that those kids were such little punks (and not in the fun/good way! lol) When we lived in town, Mom had a gargoyle in our garden, and not two weeks after we got it, someone had stolen it...I'd like to find her another one for Christmas this year.

Crock - When did you get the results back?

Tried the Gazelle for about 10 minutes, my leg began hurting, so I will ease into it,, if it is 8 minute intervals so be it, it is something, I couldnt wait till tomorrow to try it out.. but, I am sure I will be trying the Ab Scissors tonight as well.. let us hope all goes well...

Kayley~ I am glad your spirits are good today,,,

As for me,, well, I am disappointed right now over my damn leg,, Dont think it will ever get better, but I did try and will continue to try,, the doc has approved both machines, I am thinking the not doing nothing on it for 10 months is the problem as well, so I will have to build up to a good 20 to 30 minute work out.. It is just so frustrating,, I am only 34 and should not be in this state..

Hi everyone...

Just a quickie to say hello and to report in. WI day was yesterday. I've been playing up and down with the same 2 or 3 pounds the past few weeks so much that's it's getting really frustrating. That ol' scale still plays with me. It will give me a peek at a lower number, then say HA! FAT GIRL! and go back up so... I don't trust it much, as I've whined about before. BUT... still... when I weighed in, I was down a 1.5. and I said I'LL TAKE IT, YOU EVIL SCALE BWa ha ha ha ha (that's my evil laugh) so... that makes 33 down total.
AND... I have to tell you... I had a nice moment today.. as I was getting ready for work...took one last look inthe mirror after I was done putting my makeup on. And I just kind of stared at myself and... for the FIRST time... I thought "you know... I think I really CAN start to tell...." Just yesterday I was going through some pictures from last fall and realized just how pudgy my face had become. And, mind you... I have a LONG way to go... today I realized that maybe, just maybe, good changes HAVE started. It's a small thing... but it was a big moment just for me. One of these days, I'll post some pictures here... that and ,one of these days, I'll figure out how to do a ticker.

THere have been a lot of posts since the last time....casinos.... fashion ... corsets...doctors... fishing.... jogging..... the Hulk.... exersizing... significant others.... music... moving.... neighbors... wow....the whole gamut. Know that I'm keeping up, I'm thinking of all of you, and I'm sending, as always, lots of good vibes your way. I'll be gone most of the weekend (a friend of mine is being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame --- HOW COOL is THAT?? and we're going to the event....) After the weekend, though, I'll try to keep up so I can respond more personally without taking 12 pages....

Have a great weekend, everyone

Mel

p.s. Pickler...Pickler... umm.. BUH BYE woohoo! (for all you American Idol watchers)

p.p.s. I REALLY hate that toenail ad that keeps grossing me out on here
