S/C/G: SW:226/16st - about 50lbs lost

Height: 5'8"

Default LWL #246 13th - 19th March

Hello everyone! It's today, although everyone else has snow!

I made it through the weekend without a free day, but I had some treats!

We registered our intent to marry this morning, the registrar is booked and the venue is booked for November 4th! Thunderbirds are GO!

It's 34 weeks now... If anyone wants to make me a 34week workout/eating plan I'm all ears! For the moment, I'm back doing my weights and kickboxing like a goodun! I'm back to running on Wednesday.

Here's to a great week! Clean and heavy - let's go!

Oh boy, a wedding. I just love weddings. Venue and registrar are all well and good, but Frus, let's get to the really imortant things ... like dresses. Do you have yours yet? Something to show off those lovely arms, I hope

There are no classes at the gym this week because of spring break, so I took myself to the pool and tried to fashion my own water aerobics class of one. It was OK, but not nearly as much fun as when there's a class. And even though I've been doing this since August, it was all I could do to think of moves. End result: a reasonable workout, but nothing to write home about. If I do that again, I'll have to sketch out a workout beforehand, like I do with the weights.

And speaking of weights ... tomorrow is a full body in the gym, last one of the week because we're going to St. Louis on Wednesday. I was reading an older Shape (January or February) magazine last night, and it had a couple of great ideas for exercises that rely on body weight. I pulled the pages out, and I figure I can do some kind of a routine with squats, pushups, crunches, leg raises and some yoga at least once in the hotel room; maybe twice. I know we'll be walking a lot, so I should be good to go.

Hi ho to everyone. If you're in the path of all this morning's weather, be careful!

Weather? I'd better investigate that. Around here it's very warm and sooo wet! The fields are flooded, the rivers and creeks are huge! But it's suppose to snow again tomorrow or Wed.
Today is legs for me and I should probably drag my bike out of the shed just for one cheat at spring.

Hi everyone! I'm starting a re-energized week with refocus and determination. I had gone back to regular meals in mid-Feb after my health evaluation, and I got bored with that real fast and started indulging with treats again. ugh So back on the protein plan I go before I undo all my hard work. Recovering from a cold as well, so the workouts should improve greatly now!

Will do Susan, sounds like a plan.

We are supposed to get the wicked weather tonite. It looks creepy out right now, the sky looks like snow, but it's 68 with a hi of 80 today in MD!!!! Perfect combination of all these weird systems coming together over us.

Default Monday is cardio day

NELIE - Baptiste's yoga studio is around the corner from my house but I will never go there, power yoga, what a thought, I really need more rest, though I know it is a good workout.

I stuck to the cardio today, split between the Elliptical and treadmill and then the sauna, well that last part isn't cardio, but feels good.

PAT - You are right about the DBs, at my other gym they are also in a couple of different places too.

ILENE - Your yoga weekend sounds very lovely, and I really like the floating buddhas.

Off to start the day or whatever, gray outside, but no rain yet.

Liza - he does seem pretty hard core, I personally like crunch candle light yoga, it is more my speed

Ilene - sounds like you had fun, it sounds very calming.

As for me, no exercise yesterday as this is my last week of classes and I had major work to do yesterday. I'm not sure if I'll fit in workouts this week but we'll see how it goes. I really can't wait until this week is over because I won't have classes for another 15 weeks or so

The BF thought it would be a good idea if we listened to music while doing cardio so he bought us each an ipod. It is so tiny and I can't wait to try it out We also have quite a few trips coming up this year (including one to China) so an mp3 player would be good for those long flights.

Morning all! I'm so jealous of all your warm temperatures (but not the snow!) It was 0F when I got up this morning, and is all of 3F now. BUT, it is bright and sunny, and the snowy mountains are gorgeous. I have a state designated "scenic viewpoint" on my way to work and I must say it's lived up to it's status the past few days!

I sat down this weekend and drew up a new weight routine, and then an exercise plan for the week. I'm aiming for being at the gym everyday for something. There really is no reason/excuse not to, and I'm tired of being stalled on weight loss. THat will take me through Sat, and then I leave for Boston on Sunday. I have a week at a conference, and the hotel has a pool and fitness center, so the program comes with me! The week after I'm visiting family and friends, and I know the 2 days I'm at one friend's house I can get in some weights as she has a home workout room. My niece where I'll be a day or two has an elliptical, so somehow it'll get done if I just make the effort. I look in my closet and see spring/summer clothes just one size down, and think about how much $$ it'll save if I can wear them when it gets warm!

Nelie, you will LOVE your iPod! I don't know how I managed without my MP3 (not an iPod, but still...). I use it for music for cardio, audiobooks for weights and airplane rides, and believe it or not, for dentist visits! I also have an FM tuner thingy to attach to it so it plays through the car radio. And I download shorter programs from audible.com that I listen to in bed.

Well, with only a week at work, and tomorrow consumed by meetings, I'd better get at it and get some stuff done. to all of you. It's spring break here too. Enjoy yours if you get one!

Hi all!
Congratulations Fru!!!!!! You'll be a gorgeous bride and ready to kick butt if you don't get your way on your day!

I just booked a very last minute trip to Jamaica for next week with my daughter. I need to wear a bathing suit in 7 days

Off to do cardio for 7 or 8 hours,
Mel

It's snowy and cold here in the foothills of Colorado today and to top it off, I got stuck in my driveway trying to get to work. Hopefully I can get out later to go to the gym. No excuses for me!

Nelie, I love, love, love my Ipod. It's just the best. Download Itunes and load that bad boy up. You'll love it.

I'm going skiing for the first time in 20 years this weekend. I'm a little scared, but I'm in the best shape I've been in in years and down lotso weight, so hopefully I'll do okay. I have kneebraces ready to go, because my knees suck and there's no way I'm going to get hurt!

I'd rather go to Jamaica though!

So, when you do the ipod thing at the gym, do you wear it on an armband? I've read all these articles about how fragile they are (e.g., put them in your jeans pocket and bend them out of existence, etc etc etc) ... that true? And other MP3 players are less money ... I'm inclined that way. And being the oddball that I am, I would probably load the thing with classical music, which will be yet another limiting factor .... but you guys like yours, eh?

Robin- I LOVE my ipod mini....which has been discontinued. I bought it a few weeks ago o ebay. I had a much smaller Samsung mp3 player, but it was too small and non-intuitive for my lame brain. The ipod is so easy to use. I wear it on an armband and keep it in a neoprene case. My dd dropped hers while running on a treadmill and it only "sort of" works. I resisted spending the money on an ipod for a long time, but the ease of use is worth it.

Enjoy skiing, chickadee! I haven't skiied in ages. My mom lives in Colorado and keeps trying to convince me to visit in the winter and go xcountry'ing with them...but that sounds too much like work!

NELIE - Where are you going in China?? I worked there for a year a long time ago and I know it has changed a lot but I still think about the food. I will say though I was thin there, lots of walking and while the food was great, nothing processed and lots of energy getting the food, so I was in great shape.

This group is traveling around between Jamica, Boston (though I am already here), skiing, wonderful stuff.

ROBIN - Hope the iPods aren't too delicate, the guy on the next treadmill this morning dropped his, seemed to be fine.

Done with my 11 hour day, looking forward to my short Friday now. On the 24th I am meeting with a personal trainer to check out possible training. I was encouraged that she asked my goals, I explained I have been doing weights on my own based on research and want to move on to making some more progress. I want to be strong for our trip to Scotland/Shetlands as well as for the weekend sailing. Nothing worse than coming into work on Monday all wracked up from having a good time.

Robin, this is my one issue with my MP3 player - it's too big for an armband. I wear it clipped on my shorts, on the sid so I don't bend over and lose it. (I have seriously considered a little cheap one just for gym use, but my Yankee soul is having trouble with that!) Mine is fine for cardio as I just stick it in the drink holder. Other times I put it in my pocket if I have one. Oh, and I have learned the hard way to run the headphone cord inside my shirt!!

And what's wrong with classical music??? There's plenty to download and you can copy your own CDs too.
