Default Craving Swap?

This weekend, I allowed myself to have ice cream and potato chips for the fist time in months. Usually, when I satisfy a craving, it goes away and I go on with normal life. However, this time it seems that one craving has been replaced with another. I really want carrots. I'm very pleased that I could take care of my junk food craving and now my body actually wants healthy food now. I can't wait to walk to the grocery store today after work. Does this happen to anyone else - get a healthy craving after a bad one?

Also, as a side note, in spite of my junkfood indulgence, this was the first weekend that I've lost instead of gained weight. Usually, I feel like I take two steps forward during the week and then a step backward during the weekend. Maybe I'm finally learning to manage myself to keep the scale moving in the correct direction consistently. Anyway, I just wanted to share.

Default London!

Angeleyesx, I see you're from London. I'm a total anglophile. If all goes well, I'll hopefully be somewhere in England within the next few years, eventually obtaining indefinite leave to remain. I guess basically I just want to say "Hi. I love your country."

That's great that you didn't have a craving for more "bad" stuff!! I know I had a bite of cookie dough about a week ago, and after that I just felt horribly guilty, and proceeded to eat a salad that night.

It's not so much trading cravings for me, but I notice when I'm stuck eating a lot of junk food, I'll always crave something healthy-- usually a fruit like oranges (I dunno, oranges are just my epitome of healthy, for some reason). But then it seems like I can never get what I want!

Usually I guilt myself into having healthy stuff after indulging in a junk food craving. I like eating healthy and whatnot, but I feel more *determined* to do it after eating junk... I do go through the occasional fruit craving period though.

Hey, I live in London too..... you want to live here? (The answer to that is no... wrong London... crappy university town London!)

Actually, I love York and that would be my ideal city. However, it will probably be easier for me to find a job in London, so I may just start out in that area. As long as I can walk to a tube station, I think I'll manage. There is no way I would want to drive in the city though. As a pedestrian, I was nearly killed multiple times by taxi cabs speeding by. Part of that may have been due to the slow American not quite getting the hang of which way to look first before crossing the street.
Anyway, as they say, the grass is always greener on the other side. Although, I must admit the greenest grass I ever saw was in Scotland. But I'll stop before I start to ramble further.
