Default Weekly Chat 2/13-2/19

Morning ladies

i hope you don't mind me starting the weekly chat, but i felt chatty and it hadn't started yet.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i did some major housecleaning and as the weekend weather here was around 35 degrees celcius, it was stinking hot so i was sweating something chronic no other exercise factored in due to the heat, but i did get a nice surprise last night when i jumped on the scales and i was down to 106kg! so that is 2kg since the end of Jan.

my last post in the chat was that i had steered the weight loss wagon off the road and died a firey death, but i think i am moving more and more even if it isn't a set exercise each day which helped me lose some weight over a 3 week period.

imagine what can happen when i get back on the wagon and really get into it!

oh one more thing - the australian biggest loser starts tonight, which i am so excited about. it is going for 4 months and is on each weeknight! can't wait.

happy losing

I love that, I am totally stealing that saying!

I am glad you started the chat early!!!

That's awesome about your weight loss. I am glad it seems you've repaired the wagon and are back holding on!!! I am jealous about the biggest loser starting there! I don't care much for the "special" biggest losers that have been on. It takes me a while to warm up to the people, so when they're only on for one show I just can't get attached.

Anyway. Another week...jeeze, I am totally ready for spring break!

i thought about it after that it was such horrible slang. i should have reworded it - glad you like it!

there are way too many slang terms in aus and my OH is the worst for utilising all of them. i will have to try and slip them into conversation on here and see if anyone can pick them up and more importantly, understand what they mean

Good job on losing Daisy!! Love the saying as well

I actually love any Biggest Loser I like the regular show and the special editions. My BF hates them, or any reality tv show, and that's why when I watch them he can't be in the room. He doesn't understand how weight loss isn't easy and how it is a struggle for many. If he wants to lose a few pounds he just just watches what he eats for about a month and then he's slim and trim. *GRRRR* Men!

Good morning all you chickies!

Daisy Boo, I'm so jealous of your nice weather! We had a big ol' snow storm here Saturday into Sunday, getting a little over a foot of snow! It was our first real snow storm of the year, after weeks and weeks of mild weather. And our heater decided to go tempermental on us. Grrr. And you know what/ The roads are STILL disgustingly crappy, and I STILL have work! It was treacherous getting here, and I'm a fairly new driver (got my license this summer)

Yesterday we celebrated my mother's birthday (her bday is actually today), and I braved the snowy weather to go to her house. I actually ate pretty good. I avoided all the bad carbs at dinner like mashed potatoes (I'm on SBD), and I only had a teeeeensy piece of angel food cake and a liiiiitle icecream. So I don't feel too awful.

But the best piece of news... I rise from my bed this morning, jump on my scale, and what do I see? 8 pounds lost! I'm ecstatic. I've been afraid to weigh myself, fearing disappointment, but instead I got a pleasant surprise. So now I'm on my to the thin n' fit, everyone watch out!

Oh for some sun!!!!

It's miserable here and yesterday it rained on my new suede boots . I was so excited about wearing them 'cos I found some that do up over my calves AND they were half price (love at first sight, and perfect timing in lieu of having an actual guy to spend valentines with). Except I've been spraying them all morning to trying to get rid of the watermark - this might be too much commitment for me.

Ncola, sounds like you were more restrained than I'd have been...

Congrats on the loss, Daisy.

My wagon went the same way as yours on saturday, although I did get a purple balloon in McDs . Yesterday was super good (I even did a workout before breakfast!) and today could still go either way, so after this I'm off to hide in the library.

Oh! I almost forgot to emntion! I'm going to an awwwwesome concert tonight!! Anyone know Flogging Molly? I saw them last year when they came to town and they're simply superb. Hey, maybe I'll burn off some more poundage busting a move (in reality, convulsing and gyrating randomly in an attempt to find a beat )

this weekend was ok for me. not bad. not good. i can't really weigh myself this week (thursday i was down 2 lbs.) but friday TOM, so i think i'll wait a week from today. i went to the gym on saturday, and also went for about a 2 mile walk, so i got some exercise in. sunday and friday were my days off from working out, so the rest of this week i have to commit to the gym, it shouldn't be a problem though.

we didn't go out for v-day this weekend, and i'll doubt we'll go out tomorrow since it's a tuesday, so i will probably just cook dinner, and if that's the case, i'll have no problems staying on target. it's funny because i designated tomorrow and super bowl as my "free" days, and super bowl was fine, and it's looking like tomorrow will be fine. i should designate everyday as a free day.

i'm getting super frustrated about my weight loss. i've been doing WW, working out a ton, and even calculating calories on top of WW in fitday, and there's been no...to not much weight loss (we're talking a maybe two lb. drop.). there are no NSV either. i've upped my strength training because i know that's been lacking, but i'm at the point, where i might do one week of strict dieting (maybe SBD phase 1) just to see some type of jump to get me motivated again. it's been over a month now, i think it's ok to be at the point of frustration. it's annoying when i see girls who have lost ten pounds not exercising, let alone not putting in 30 + miles a week like i am. oh well, i think TOM, work frustration, V-day frustration (even though i have a wonderful bf, just one who has gotten very comfortable in his bf role), etc... is getting to me. i think it's time to get some frustrations out at the gym.

ncola- congrats on the loss, that's HUGE!

lockitup- i hear you. i wish i was back in college just so that i could go on vacation again. spring break doesn't seem as mandatory when you're out of school.

oooooh, Flogging Molly--definitely like them...have fun!!

I am so proud of myself! I left work to go to Target to buy candy for Jeff for tomorrow, and I didn't buy myself ANYTHING! My major weakness when shopping alone is frosting-covered little cakes (like Little Debbies)--I can put away a whole box by myself in under 30 minutes I left with nothing but caramel-filled Hershey Kisses, caramel-filled Ghiradelli chocolates, a gift bag, and a card (I'm not huge on caramel or chocolate, so they won't be too tempting for me, but Jeff LOVES caramel).

My calorie cycling is still going well. I only have about 1060 calories planned for today, and I ended last week with an average of 1785 calories per day when the weekend was done (my goal was 1800 or less), so I'm right on target! Jeff bought me flowers on Friday as an early V-Day gift, so here's hoping he doesn't buy me any candy tomorrow!

Oh, we got LOTS of snow here this weekend, too. Of course, I grew up in CT, so lots of snow here in NOVA isn't quite the same as lots of snow in CT, but I'd say we got about 6-8 inches, which is a huge amount for this area. My parents in CT got well over a foot. Man, I miss my New England winters!

Nicole on the weight loss

Chicagoposter - Don't get discouraged! You'll get there. Those girls that aren't exercising and are losing aren't going to keep it off. At least you are becoming healthier and you are losing the right way. Sometime it just takes a little longer. Hang in there!

Hey girls! I hope everyone is having a great Monday so far....and if you're not, take that aggression/unhappiness/anger out tonight at the gym or on your walk/jog/run!

I had a good weekend. Food intake was around 1300 calories (honestly, I haven't been counting my calories b/c that is not the way I feel like living the rest of my life; I am mindful of what I eat, and try to make healthy choices 80-90% of the time...it's been working for me so far - I've lost 7.4 lbs in 2 weeks! ), I exercised both days (a long power walk on Saturday; a long hike on Sunday) and I was happy to see the scale go down 2.4 lbs today. Total loss is now at 7.4 lbs, and I am getting close to my goal of 12 lbs lost by the end of the month. I'm going to try my best to make it.

I babysat for my parents on Saturday so they could see Connie Francis in concert. They ended up meeting her, after befriending the guy sitting next to them. He knows her and picked her up at the airport earlier in the day, so he got my parents into the uber private after-party in Connie's room. I made chicken tacos and quinoa w/ craisins for the rugrats and then cleaned up, did dishes, etc. Parents came home around 9 (it was an early concert) and relieved me of my babysitting responsibilities. I went upstairs to my bedroom w/ a book (Citizen Girl) and fell asleep around 10-ish. It made me happy to see my parents enjoy themselves, especially my Mom. She barely ever gets a night off.

I'm making a semi-healthy (I try to make every type of food I make as healthy as possible - it's an obsession ) chocolate cake tomorrow for V-day for my family. I might be making dinner for everybody, too....it depends if my parents are going out. I don't have a Valentine this year, but I'm OK w/ that. It's my choice. I don't have time for anybody else in my life right now anyway.

Exercise, exercise, exercise, chicks! And don't be too mindful of the scale...it is not the end-all, be-all in life. Just keep on doing what you know you should be doing in order to become/stay healthy.

And if I'm not on tomorrow, I hope all you girls have a wonderful Valetine's day! Isn't that smilie so cute?
