Default Fitness Logs or Journals.........

I have one I used for working out at home, but its a binder...regular size. Quite cumbersome to take it to the gym.

Do you use a fitness log?
Do you take it with you to the gym?
Did you make up your own log book?
Did you buy it, what kind is it, and where did you find it?

I have looked at 2 journal/log books,(at barnes and noble) and what I dislike about them is the cover and the binding. Other than that, the one inparticular I like.

Any thoughts?

I use an online running log, it's mainly geared to running but does let you enter other exercise too. I also write stuff down in my paper diary (briefly) in case I forget before I get to the computer

I found a fat smallish spiral bound notebook (4x6" ?) to take to the gym. I'd never remember what weight I was using for what exercise without it! Besides I like looking back to see how far I've come.

I just draw a little chart on the page and include the date, the exercises, the weight and number of reps/sets. I can get 6-8 sessions on a page. Oh, and I do a separate page for upper and lower body as I often work them on different days. Cardio gets its own page too, though I am not as regular about putting much but the date. I also like to put in my weight in every few sessions. My gym keeps nice sharp pencils available for folks to use too!

i use a binder too. i one page printed front and back.

first half of 1st page: date, cw, gw, to do list, notes.

bottom half of first page: exercise (calories burned, miles, reps, etc...) i just write it when i get home. and check-marks for washing face (am/pm), taking vitamins, sit-ups (i do these everyday, then 1-3 days a week hardcore abs), and basically anything that i need to do everyday.

2nd page: meals. pts. (i do WW at home), and at the bottom of the page, i numbered 1-12 and circle how many glasses of water i have drank, to make sure i am getting in my water.

this system works amazing for me, it reminds me of doing the smallest thing like taking vitamins, laundry, etc...

Since I work on a computer most of the day I made a excel spreadsheet to log all of my food and exercise on. I love fitday as a reference to lookup nutrition content on foods.

This Personal Training Diary is the one I use. I'm starting it on Monday. I've tried using the sheet my PT gave me, and making my own one up, but I'm the type where I NEED something like that. Its got space for food as well, so its perfect for me.

Huh...guess I'm a little weird with my system then. I have a small calendar where I quickly jot down what exercise I did for the day, and how long. It works for me.

I make up my own log charts in Word Perfect, and enter my planned exercises for 4 weeks at a time. I then print them out and carry a clip board around the gym. My memory is not good and without this, I would forget what I am supposed to do or where I left off.

I carry a tiny spiral notebook in my purse and write down my food and exercise for the day.

I keep track of my activities and food on fitday.com. It's been working really, really well for me.

Thanks for the ideas everyone

I already use fitday to keep track of my fooe...that place has been a life saver. But I dont use it for exercise, because I dont agree with the calorie burning charts.

I think I'll do what some of you have already done, and see if I can come up with something on the computer. I like to have paper (for some reason) to go back and have a look at what Ive done. I find it easier to pinpoint what might need to be changed.

Thanks again for the ideas.
