Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again...#823

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Felicia - Now with you talking about the Gazelle, I want one of those, too! LOL! You guys are going to make me go even broker! I also want to invest in a mini trampolene. Anyone ever had one?

MsCrockett - If you are going to go for the treadmill, definately get an electric one! We have a manual one down in the basement, and it's very very HARD to get motivated enough to actually USE it! We have an electric one upstairs, though, and I'm liking it!

NotTheCheat - You're right, you can't overdo it, or you won't wanna go again the next day...although, when you are doing so good, you just DONT want to stop! hehe!

Lilion - Oooooh! Velour! Well, it's hard sometimes to judge what size I need...but anywhere from 22/24/26 shirts is what I need right now. (Down from a 30!) Anyway, I'm bigger on top than on bottom...I sometimes need a 3X tee shirt, and right now I'm wearing XL shorts...who knows?!?! Yet, I can't wear small PANTS...my body is so weird! Hopefully, I get curves eventually, cuz I have NO BUTT! LOL!!!!

Well, I ended up doing 30 minutes of working out!!! I managed to do 20 minutes on the treadmill! And I was only able to do SIX yesterday! And then 10 minutes of dancing!!! I feel GOOD!

Once a month, I try to measure myself. I measured at the end of January, so at the end of February, I'm going to measure, and also take my pics then, too!

exactly, Felicia! BUt my goal is a minimum of 100 ounces, too... so.... HELLLLLLO bathroom! lol

I actually remember from YEARS ago...from a grad student of mine who had lost a lot of weight... her motto was "Pee clear once a day" --- meaning, of course, if you're peeing and there is NO color at all, you've had enough water... so... now the game I play with myself is how EARLY in the day can I pee clear!!... lol (ok--y'all just tell me if I'm using the word "pee" too much and being too graphic.....lol)

BUt.. the real point for me is --- anythign I can make a game of, I am much more likely to do -- that's why WW points is good for me -- keeping track, figuring out oints, etc.. and fitday is great, too, because it's a game to plug everything in there.
anyway... helps ME to look at it that way

Hope everyone is doing well today --- I am SOOO happy it's Friday, I can't even TELL you how happy that makes me lol

Princess!! You don't need any Naaaaasty chocolate cake! You'll feel better later if you're only out the money, not up on empty calories too! Now is the perfect opportunity to PROVE to yourself you can beat that emotional eating & rise victorious over this whole thing. BRAVO! I know you're doing it already!!! Bummer about that stupid tow job, huh? *** What kind of documentary is your friend doing?

Jilly, I'm in the mid-280's and just now getting back in the 22's. Now that you're so on track and headin' down, you'll be losing a size soon, I'm sure!

Zelma, you're little grasshopper girl sounds so cute! Isn't it nice to know that parents are setting such examples for their kids to follow? It must be a real trip for returning students to see you now! What fun!

Julee, My color was royal blue, and the bouquets were gorgous arrays of blue - tons of color. We had a huge jacuzzi in our HM room and I set my flowers on the edge and they looked beautiful flowing down the side. Also, my dad raises peacocks and my step Mom gave me some white feathers to go in the bouquet. I was a little embarrassed to take them to the florist and request that she work them in, but my SM, whom I adore, is one of those people who gets what she wants. The florists face betrayed that she thought it was weird but she said she would try. She later told me that she had been skeptical, but was ultimately thrilled with how pretty they looked. I still have a couple of those feathers.
The 'funny now but horrifying then' story is that the morning of my wedding when I was already stressed to my limits, my friends went to pick up the flowers for my hair while I was getting my hair done. They returned with a headband with the most HIDDEOUS, UGLY, BIG GLOBBY RED and white roses I'd ever seen! I remember sitting in the salon chair absolutely GASPING - "THOSE AREN"T MY FLOWERS!?!" About then the florist called my cell in a slight panic because a different employee had given us, obviously, the wrong flowers, and the red bride with the horrible taste in head dresses was looking for the monstrosity I'd been given. I have to say, the 3 months I was engaged were probably the most horrible, stressful months I've ever survived. I really dispised myself then just because of the way I looked. I really wanted to be a size 5 bride, like that would have made a lick of difference in our love or our dreams together. I wish I could have known then how wonderfully it would all come out, and I wish I'd understood my own value. Bill did. God bless the men who see and love who we really, not just our social packaging.

Kayley - Fantastic job on the exercise!!! I'm so excited for you! It will keep getting easier with time. Imagine how good you'll feel this time next year!?

WTG! Nancy - Congrats on the lost weight!!

Crock - I'm with the rest of the gang - ELECTRIC.

Having a little trouble with the sight sticking, so can't read all of the rest of the posts now. Hopefully this will post. If not, you probably haven't missed much. =)

JUst a quickie, Crockett, those women sound like a right coven!!!! Give them a miss, stay with us!!! I have been here since Augst05 and everyone here is positive and supportive, also we all try to phrase things nicely, so as not to offend.
I have an nsv to report, after two weeks OP I had lost and inch from bust, waist and hips, now four weeks in I have lost two inches from my hips altogether!! It's brill as I have an awful 'flap' of tummy hanging down to my hips, so it looks like its getting smaller!!WooHoooo
I hope you are all well.
Kayley its 'Holywood' but it fits me now and I'm a Uk 20 top. I bought it just before getting pregnant with my youngest and I'm only just wearing it now, the skirts would cost about £4 to post, but if you like I could have a sort out & see, they are layered 'gypsy' style ones, and great for this time of year, with leggings or leg warmers. Give me some time and we'll have to see how things go.
bye for now,
sharon.

Okay, gotta do a quick wedding post for Julee!

My FIRST wedding was great...marriage sucked, but wedding rocked! It was New Years Day and the colors were silver and this deep jewel-like maroon color...not burgundy-redder. My dress had irridessent beads that picked up the red. It was quite pretty. I took a swatch of the bridesmades dress to the flower shop and found silks in exactly the same shade for my flowers. I did my own and used silks, easier and cheaper, since I paid for it myself. There were these irridessent bead sparkly things in among the roses. We had the wedding in a hotel and, since it was NY day it was dirt cheap...tourist area off season. They still had Xmas trees with maroon decorations up in the ballroom and we filled the ceiling with balloons in red, silver, white with irridessent ribbons hanging down, keeping with the whole NY theme.

My second wedding was more formal than the first and the colors more subdued. We had a smaller wedding and reception was a tea. My bridesmaides wore a pale peach color, the men charcoal morning coats. The bridesmaid dresses were a literally last minute replacement for this lovely pale moss green they were supposed to be...4 days before the wedding we discovered they weren't going to work out! A nightmare from ****! Anyway, I did my own flowers again. Silks again. (Paid it myself again! Sucks to get married later in life.) This time they were white roses with just the barest tip of pink on the petals. They were nice too. We used the same roses on the tables and even on the wedding cake.

Many times later I wished I'd have gone with more vibrant colors and an outdoor wedding. But I think I'll not have another just to get it right! I'll wait for a big anniversary!
