Default New plan . . . . advice?

So, I haven't been doing too famously lately and I decided I needed to change my plan a bit. Usually, I get about 8 - 9 hours of sleep on weeknights and then sleep in WAY too long (like 12 hours +, if you can believe it!) on the weekends. The weekend also tends to be the time I get off plan and cheat. Come Monday, I feel lousy from having overeaten and from having gotten way too much sleep. So, I've been thinking that the best thing to do would be to go to sleep every night at the same time and get up at the same time, even on weekends. This seems obvious, I know, but I still have that mentality of "making up for sleep" on the weekend!

Also, I'd like to start taking walks every morning before work and eventually, start running again, although this is daunting! It's been ages since I ran! I'm a little apprehensive about the whole working out before work thing because I'm afraid I'll fail: I can just see myself choosing that extra half hour of sleep over my morning walk. Can anyone recommend some ways to get myself into doing this? I really feel like it would help; I just need a push.

Thanks in advance!

Ann

Hi Ann,

Maybe you can try getting up at the same time on the weekends and then napping in the afternoon if you're really really tired?

In terms of the working out early, right now I'm working out after work in the evening so my advice is a bit dated, but... When I was working out early, the best thing for me was just to roll out of bed on hearing the alarm, dress, and go to the gym without thinking too much. By the time I really woke up, I was halfway through my workout .

Hope that helps -- good luck to ya!

It might just be a matter of getting at it. Try getting up and walking once. It's not so bad once you get out there. Then just try for two days in a row ... ya know?
