Smile Newbie here!

Hey everyone!

I just started the south beach diet 3 days ago! This site is awesome by the way. It's full of great people! I just kind of wanted to say hi to everyone and take a chance to introduce myself.

I'm currently a full-time student, and i work pretty much every second im not in class or studying! I'm quite busy. Because of this, i find myself eating alot of quick snacks and fast food. It wasn't until this september when i decided that my weight is becoming a problem! I hate not being comfortable in my own skin! That's really what i'm striving towards. I dont necessarily want to get down to a certain weight, i just want to be able to look in the mirror and think, "I look good!"

Anyways, thats me and what im going for! I'd love to chat with some of you guys. What do you guys generally do? Do you post meal plans and stuff like that, and share your monthly goals, etc? I want to get in the swing of things :P

Hope to hear from you guys!
Thanks!

Your fellow fat fighter!

Jazztap - and ! There is a daily thread where we pretty much just shoot the breeze, talk about what's going on in our lives and with our diets, share what's good and what's bad, and offer encouragement and sympathy or congratulations and kudos where they are called for. There is an FAQ forum with good advice and a recipe forum with tons of recipes (feel free to add your own, or just look for inspiration).

What are you studying? Several of us here are working on some degree or another. I'm working on a transfer degree in English and planning to transfer to a university to major in Humanities. I'm taking 2 English classes and an environmental science class this quarter--almost done! Yay!

Good luck, and see you on the daily!

Howdy.. I am a student as well. I study Social science with majors in development and social policy. You sound pretty busy and I understand too well about the easy snacks.

This is a really supportive forum - just jump on in.. the December goals and exercise challenge threads should be starting soon and I am sure that some of the chickies would give some help if you wanted to post your daily menus.

Jazztap!

Congrats on starting such a healthy plan in the midst of such a busy life. If you can do this now, you can do it anytime! I think it's great that you aren't setting a specific goal in terms of weight.

We have monthly weight and exercise goals, though you are welcome to join in with less specific goals in mind (such as, I will fit into my purple dance top or I will drink more water this month). You are welcome to post your daily meal plans either during your post in the daily or in your journal (to get a journal, just click on "Journals" grey tab above and follow the instructions).

We hope you enjoy it here!
