  • What??? No daily yet?? Where is everyone? Wake up! I've got caramel mocha truffle coffee for everyone!!!
  • Ok, so Alfred escaped onto the keyboard and decided that that was enough of a daily post !

Anyways!! Today will be busy as usual. I didn't get my paper finished yesterday cause I was too busy researching other things to add but now I realize that they don't really fall under the focus of my paper. So now I will finish it up tonight. This week I give finals and next week I take finals...I prefer the giving end, thats for sure !

I'm not sure what to make for dinner. I've got chicken breasts in the fridge that have to be used. Any suggestions?? Have a great day, chicks!!!
  • Good morning! Yummy coffee! I just know it's SF!

I was up at seven but the Girls needed out immediately to check out their world. No fresh snow last night so they were a tad disappointed.

Today I go to get the stitches out of my knee at the Clinic. I plan to treat myself to a movie rental after that - "Men in Tights"? and am going to try to rest my leg as much as I can. I think the standing to bake and tiddle up costumes has stressed it and a day or so of less activity will do it good.

What's happening on your stretch of sand? Any decorating done yet?
  • Oh yum! That coffee sounds scrumtious, Pearshape! Where did you find that?

I know you'll be happy to have the stitches out, Ruth. Your knee will feel much more comfortable after that. Treating yourself to a funny movie sounds like the perfect way to spend the rest of the afternoon.

I'm trying to get some laundry done and I want to get the rest of my Christmas decorating finished before I have to leave for work. I have to run to the bank to transfer some money into checking (!!!) and get gas for the car, too. I like to get my trees up right after Thanksgiving so I can enjoy them, and it helps get me in the spirit, too. We have the big tree in the livingroom, another for the sunporch, and a tiny one for the kitchen. I hope to get all my holiday baking done this coming weekend, too. DD is going to try to come out, and we're planning to have a marathon cookie baking with my DIL and GD's. It's going to be a challenging month for staying OP!
  • Oh my, I was bad the whole time off. I could just kick myself. I didn't make my weightloss goal b/c of the above mentioned offense throughout the month of November. But, my aunt (one of the first people that hurt my feelings when I started gaining weight years ago.) said something to me about my weightloss as soon as she saw me. Yay!

I am back to the beach this morning. I have scrambled eggs, turkey bacon and ww toast. Wish me luck!!

Decorating? Yep! My tree is up. I had a wonderful moment on Thanksgiving putting it up and listening to my 3 year old sing "Santa Claus is coming to town" while helping me. Hey! Several branches have up to 4 ornaments on them b/c of him, but I think it makes it look even better. I also have most of my presents bought and wrapped. Santa Claus is covered. I am ahead of my game. I have a few gift cards to purchase at Walmart and a gift for the daycare party (as soon as they give me guidelines) and I'm done. I am a flybaby and I was trying the Holiday Cruising! I didn't follow them to a T, but I paid attention to the reminders just enough to give me a sense of urgency to the holiday. Now, my time is freed up to play with my DS and enjoy other holiday festivities. We are going to ride the "Polar Express" on the 23rd in North Carolina. I have a birthday coming up and plan to go out with the girls to the Melting Pot for "Just Dessert"

Well, I must get to work! Everyone have a sunny day on the beach!
  • Pear~ Really?....caramel mocha truffle coffee.....MMMMM!!!!! Sound too good to be true.
Cottage~ I am envious or your girlie baking fest!!!!

Ruth ~ hope all goes well with the stitches. I wish I could come cozy up and watch Men in Tights with you.

Thank God it Monday!! and a school day for all the big kids!! Just 2 preschoolers today til noon. Huuby is at work. He wasn't sure he would go because of the rain. I am letting the fire go out because it is +6C(42F) and feeling muggy in here.
I am in desperate need of a shower but will wait til after the bus.
I did a fair bit of tidying yesterday evening. I should be able to vacuum today.
4th day of hockey in a row with a practise at 4:30. The kids played 3 fab games over the weekend. Much improved. DS was quite the star.
Food has been willy nilly but not horrifc in content or amounts. Just not in the forefront of thought. I haven't weighed in a few weeks. I was getting disappointed by the same number while really trying to lose.
I sent a friendly email and pics to an old friend last week and haven't heard back. Every couple of months I try. It makes me feel sad.

Storytime this morning. I need some ideas for myself for reading. Entertaining yet with a little substance and thought provocation. The Mark Twain Letters for book club is interesting but quite heavy.Getting thru it bit by bit.
  • Yes, Ruth, the coffee is sf so have a second cup . Just flavored beans that's all. Cottage, I get it from deansbeans online and I made up my own custom blend and then gave it my own name. You can do that at no extra charge. You can even tell them how strong you want it roasted. I love their coffee and will never go back to the cheap stuff, even though theirs is cheaper than some beans you buy in the stores, shipping included!!!
  • Thanks, Pearshape! I'll have to check out that website, but now I MUST get off this computer and get some work done........
  • Morning everyone. I have been so bad the last few days..I'm up 5lbs so the ticker is WAYYY off. I refuse to change it!
I'm back on phase 1 today....no food yet, but I'm drinking my water - I WILL RING IN 2006 IN ONDERLAND!!!
Ruth - take care of yourself & that knee
Cottage - have fun at work
everyone else - have a great day!
  • Hi ladies!

Turkey day was horrible! The 2-hour "just heat and serve" turkey meal I spent $50 on turned out to be a frozen bird that took 7 hours to cook! So HB and I have a veggie thanksgiving, which was a-ok by us. We did taste the turkey but it was so dry and hard and horrible, you better believe my fingers we eMailing corporate before the night was done!

I attached some of our engagement pictures that we got done on Friday. And we finished our wedding website this weekend too (PM me for the link) We also bought a bed. I haven't slept through the night for 3 weeks now. So talk about being broke for the holidays!

Anyway, enough about me -- Ruth, hope you are feeling better. Thanks for starting the thread Pear!!!! Off for *my* coffee!

  • Hey Ladies
    I'm back
I had nasal surgery on the 18th and was out cold for most of last week. I'm not totally OP for SB but I'm combining it with Points b/c I realized my portions were wacko
I'm also still in some pain so I'm craving comfy food
and I'd rather have a turkey and 2% cheese on ww bread than mac and cheese
Still can't find the scale so I might spring for a new one so I can face the music I'm a little scared.
Pear slide some of that coffee down here!
I'll reply more later I'm behind!
  • Morning Chicks!

I started SBD successfully this am. Hard boiled eggie and a V8. I have to run though cause DS has the flu!!! Not fun.

Jenn - the pictures are beautiful!
  • Jenn-The pictures are great! Thanks for sharing them.
  • Jenn - I love the pictures. You guys look great!

I'm up a few pounds with the holiday but they are slowly coming off. We spent Thanksgiving at a friend's house. She does not cook healthy and I had a run in with some brownies. The next day we had 11 people over for turkey/ham and all the trimmings at lunchtime and then did it again with 13 people for dinnertime. Brian had kids to play with almost all day so he was thrilled. I did better with my eating at my house. I cooked plain sweet potatoes, had cranberry sauce with Splenda (also with sugar for those who prefered that), and reasonably healthy stuffing. We won't talk about the desserts though. I'm having no cravings and am back to healthy OP eating so I'll recover before Christmas. At least we don't entertain as many people then so it is easier.

I still need to pull out the Christmas decorations. Maybe I can multitask and do it tomorrow when I am working from home.
  • My house has been a revolving door this morn! Whooshing about all day so just a quick pop in ~

Pearsy: I like to make chick cordonbleau: A piece of virgina baked ham and Swiss - and just bake it...very tasty.

    KO: Glad yer back hon

    Jenn: Great pics!!!!!

HAve a great day all you groovy chicks!!!!!
