Default 26/F Looking for a "buddy" to help support & encourage each other!

Hello! I'm looking for an e-mail/IM buddy that I can support & encourage in the WL struggle & hopefully get the same back!

My weaknesses:
Not working out as much as I should
Junk food
Liquor

I went from 272 to 179 but now I'm back at 210. I've been bouncing back up and down between 205-210 the last 2-3 months. I am trying to get a handle on things & get to my ultimate goal of 172.

I can be your buddy.

Just curious, where are you at? Do you want to post here daily what we ate and what we did for workouts?

Hey Kara and Adpitan!

Would you two be interested in a threesome buddy group? I posted earlier some info about my weight loss so far and whatnot... and how I was looking for a buddy! I could really use some extra motivation and support because I really want to get to work on these last few pounds (and maybe more if it goes okay).

Congratulations on your weight loss so far Kara!! That's amazing! How have you lost it so far? I would say one of my strengths is actually working out... and I've been known to literally drag people out of bed to get them to do it with me My weaknesses are sugar, chocolate, my mom's house (her cooking, her fridge, her "you know you don't have to completely eliminate certain foods" - which I tend to translate to mean I can have EVERYTHING IN SIGHT)... also binge eating in front of the TV.

I love your idea of posting what you're doing every day Adpitan - that is one of the reasons why I wrote to you guys! I think the structure could be really good!

Anyway! Lemme know if you are interested!

Eesabella

It all sounds peachy to me. where are you at, if I may ask. I am trying to find someone to go to the gym along with me. I am in the bay area and belong to 24 hour fitness.

Default Too bad :(

I'd love to go to the gym with you! I'm in Maryland! We could work out cell phone to cell phone, but that could get kinda creepy with all the heavy breathing

Talking Ha Ha Ha!

If I could just imagine the owner of the heavy breath chasing me, that could keep me motivated

I guess we could wait to see if Kara wants to buddy-up threeways? I dunno! I've been writing up menu plans for myself because I'm kind of new to calorie counting - so I already have what I ate yesterday written out.

So what is your fitness and food plan Adpitan?

No real reason to wait, today is just as good as any and anyone who wants to join in, can. So, the first thing we need to do is think of a name for our fabulous little group. The second thing we need to do is set a goal, i.e. 12 weeks of something and then at the end of that 12 weeks we move on to something else. Doesn't have to be like that, but you know what I mean. I just have 12 weeks on the brain bc that is how long the Body-For-Life (BFL) challenge is. It could even be a 4 week challenge and let's say we want to lose 10 lbs in 4 weeks, so we would need to lose 2.5 lbs per week to achieve that. I think that is completely reasonable, should we lose more then hooray for us, should we lose less then the world doesn't end and we figure out how we can lose 2.5 the next week. Does this sound good?

Oh, yes, I'm also a big fan of weekly goals. So, I think each Monday when we post our foods/workouts that we also put our goals for the week.

As for my woe, I am currently following Nutrisystem and yes, I have heard all the negative talk about it but so far I have enjoyed everything except the Orange Beef Noodles. I picked that for convenience, I am currently back in school (already graduated college once) working on my pre-med reqs and study a lot and find it difficult to arrange my meals either daily or weekly. Plus having to cook is usually hard for me lately as I don't get home until late and don't want to cook or I just don't want the left overs. I need simplicity and convenience since I am not getting it any where else, most especially my classes.

As far as the gym is concerned, it is a distant memory but one that I miss terribly. My plan is to do cardio 3 times a week minimum and weights 2-3 times a week.

What about you? What is your woe and workout plan? How does all of this maddeness I just suggested sound?

Default Lotsa Stuff

K cool :P Well here is what I ate yesterday:
Breakfast - 3 Soy Pankcakes and 1/2 Cup Strawberries
Snack - 2 Pumpkin Muffins and 1 Cup Milk
Lunch - 1 Cup Broccoli and Arroz Con Pollo (long grain rice, vegs, chicken)
Snack - Bean Dip and 4 (large) Wheat Crackers
Dinner - Crispy Baked Fish and 1 Cup Veggie
Dessert - 1/2 Cup Cottage Cheese, 1 Cup Strawberries, 1 Cup of Chocolate Soy Slender
Calories 1981, Fat 60.6

Exercise: Funny how I boasted about my will to work out and yesterday I sucked! I put in my yoga DVD and started it - then I got a work call. Went back to it, ended up sitting on my mat and clipping my toe nails. Then I switched to a shorter work out. Was going to do the hour plus one, since I was slacking I switched to the 40 min. one, but didn't end up doing it. I did work out this morning though!

Weekly Goal: To stick to my meal plan all week!

A name, hmmm... I'm drawing a blank. Something diva-like I'm thinking, I've got nothing! Have you thought of anything?

I love the way you think! Let's definitly do challenges! I was just browsing the challenge area of the board. So 10 pounds in 4 weeks? That's exciting! I've never lost that quickly, but I'm certainly up for trying!! I don't own a scale and only weigh at my Mom's... but I'm probably going to end up buying one because I think it would be better to watch my progress closely!

Love the weekly goal idea too! I'm putting mine at the top of this post with my food from yesterday. I haven't heard anything bad about the Nutrisystem plan! What have people said about it? I don't even know much about Nutrisystem... I take it you like it so far!? Congrats on working on pre-med! That's exciting! What do you want to be when you grow up ?

It sounds like I am your opposite! I work from home - commission work. I put in a few hours a week of non-paid work, then I just wait for calls. When the customers call, I work. Otherwise I can do what I want. So while you are busy and out and about, I have WAY too much time on my hands and I spend all of it at home! Boredom = me eating in front of the TV. I got smart and cancelled my cable and I actually think that's helping a lot. Now I get netflix and don't spend nearly as much time pigging out in front of the TV.

My diet is basically to not eat refined sugar, including white rice, white flour, pasta, etc... Nothing hydrogenated. I watch cholesterol a bit because high cholesterol runs in my family. I try to eat somewhat organic - eggs and milk for sure. A lot of my dietary changes I originally made to improve my mood because I have/had a lot of menstral-related mood issues that I have mostly corrected by changing my diet!

I am writing up meal plans as I said to count calories and fat for the first time... I am going for 2000 - 2100 for now, but I think I may go down from there as it seems most people here eat a lot less than I do!! I do aerobics and yoga. When the weather is nice I garden and bike!

I love your madness! You are so motivated and motivational!!!

I see you fun people have been busy today.

I saw this in ChickinHouston's post, "hot and sexy", we could be the "hot and sexy challenge"...any thoughts?

Food today:

NS Nutricinnamon squares 120 cals
Berkeley 1% Milk 65 cals
Apple 63 cals
NS Fudge Graham Bar 190 cals
Balsamic Vinagrette 50 cals
Spinach 13 cals
Tomatoes 28 cals
zucchini, 1 cal
Tyson Chicken Strips 33 cals
Cheddar 47 cals
Applesauce 97 cals
Mozzarella 78 cals
V8 - 5.5 oz 30 cals
Roasted Sunflower Seeds 53 cals
NS Green Pepper Steak w/rice 270 cals
Strawberries 18 cals
Totals 1157 cals

Weekly goal: lose 3 lbs , clean eating, more sleep

eesabella, I bet if you cut back to 1500-1600 cals you would drop faster. just a suggestion. I picked up the tanita scale which does weight and body fat and I am loving it and hating it at the same time.

Ok, well I think I am signing off for the night as I am very, very tired and have read soooooooo much chemistry today I can't handle reading any more.

Everyone have a fabulous evening and will chat with you all tomorrow
