Default Overcoming obstacles on Atkins

Hi everyone, I thought it would be good to have a thread about overcoming problems relating to low carb eating as i am sure the small chapter in the Atkins book cannot cover everything! So if youve found any problems no matter how embarrassing that way mabey we can find some answers!!

Default Irritable bowel syndrome

Let me start this off right by posting my annoying and embarrassing problem Ive found since starting atkins, (Im still in the induction period and eat 20 carbs or less per day) my stomach has gone haywire, nearly everyday I get a loud rumbling stomach, cramping, gas, flatulence, some constipation but sometime diarrhea too. i have a history of irritable bowel syndrome but hadnt had it for a long time but it seems its come back since changing my diet. To be honest, I cant see whats causing it as I eat so little fibre and dont drink soda - anyone expieriancing similar or have any ideas that will help?! thanks!!

No, I dont have those troubles, but I dont have IBS either. Maybe up your fibre intake? I take a fibre supplement because I dont like the "blocking" effect induction has on my symptom. Maybe thats what is happening?

SSL: The only time I get that problem is if A: I eat some type of sugar alcohol or B: I eat some type of hidden carb. I can ALWAYS tell when I've eaten carbs. lol

My obstacle is weekends. Short of not going anywhere or eating on weekends....not sure how to stay OP!!!
