Default New Member, Looking to lose BIG

Hello,

I am a new member, currently I am on the Weight Watchers program and am hoping to find the extra support here that I am going to need to reach my goal.

I love WW and know it works and my first attempt with them was when I was 10 years old, which is about 36 years ago now. I have been a habitual member ever since.

I now feel that I know enough about myself and what I need to do to be sucessful and reach my goal. I do know for sure that the most important thing I need is to have contact with other people like me. So I googled and found this site and hope it is going to be my new hangout when I get to needing some extra help.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Hello Sheri,
I too am a habitual WW. I am not going to meetings now but try to follow the plan as close as I can. (Most of the time). We are about the same age and I need to lose about 80 lbs. I have a goal of losing 20 by Christmas.
Welcome to the sight and have a good day.

Thanks, GW. I am sure you can do it. I will commit to the same goal if you want to work on it together. We can cheer each other on.

I am on WW as well and have 134 lbs I need to lose. Ever since I was 30 weeks pregnant with my daughter my BP has been out of control and I really know if the weight goes so will that problem. Alos since the scale has crept back up to 294 which is what I had gotten to about 290 while pregnant. ACK!! I dunno why I'm having such a problem losing the 40 lbs I gained while pregnant.

I had even tried eating healthy and exercising 3-5 days a week for 30+ minutes and nothing. My Dr. checked my thyroid because they even thought it was sounding strange. All is good on my blood work except mild anemia.

I also would love to lose 20lbs by Christmas.

Well then ladies let's go for it, I weigh in on Tuesday mornings so I will update sometime on Tuesday. If you want to we can keep coming back to this thread to do that. I am eating a bag of carrots today as I ordered in Chinese yesterday and ate all of my 34 extra points as well as whatever was left for the day if not more. I guess Chinese is a red light food for me. Oh well, live and learn I will do better today.

I know what it's like to have that pregnancy weight to lose Zoesmama, But I know you can do it and I bet once you get rid of this 20 lbs you will see a difference in your BP. I hope to hear from you both again on here.

Hope you had a good time with your son. I am dealing with a plugged sink today and trying not to go crazy trying to figure out how to clean all my dirty dishes. I am a little worried about weigh in tomorrow as I kind of overdid some chinese food on the weekend. I did my best to eat lot's of veggies and keep the points down yesterday and today so I hope I lose at least 2 for this week.

If I can keep to 2 lbs a week from now until christmas I will make the 20 off goal. I am counting from this Tuesday until December 20th. Then if I can keep it together I hope to read my 10% goal by the end of the year.

we will all keep going and going.....

Well off to a good start on my 20 before Christmas. Lost 2.2 pounds at todays weigh in Now I just need to keep it up.

I have been working designing a few new recipes and hope they will turn out well. I went to the library today and picked up some cookbooks so I can try some new low fat recipes this week, which is easier than trying to make up my own.

Let me know how you are doing ladies

Hi Sheri,
Congrats on your loss!!! That's great news. I lost 2 lbs as well this week. I will have to work really hard this week after our weekend. It wasn't very diet friendly. I was really busy yesterday but I got a workout in. Today I have been really tired. The weekend catching up with me I guess.

Did you get your sink fixed? I hate it when that happens. I hate doing dishes too.
Let me know if you find any good recipes. It helps to have something new to try.
I better get to bed it's past my bed time. Type at you tomorrow.

Mary and congratulations on that 173 pound loss. It takes a lot of work to lose that weight. I am sure you will find all the support you need on this site, it sure has been great for me and I just started a week ago!

Right now we are working on losing 20 pounds by Christmas so you can join in that goal with us if you like, the more the merrier. I am so glad that our Thanksgiving is over and I only need to worry about the Christmas holidays. You American ladies still have that big dinner coming up.

If you want a great recipe for crustless pumpkin pie I made it for Thanksgiving and it is awsome and only 4 points for 1/6 of a 9 inch pie which is a lot of pie. No one in the family believed me that it has no sugar and almost no fat in it. I also developed a very good mini fritatta based on a thread somewhere else on the board that is only 2 points and is very good, I had to threaten my husband and oldest son to make sure they left one for my breakfast this a.m.

I will get them in order and post them tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Hello Mary and Welcome,
WOW!!! 173 lbs. You will find all the support you want on this thread and the whole forum. There is lots of information and interesting people here.

Sheri,
The recipes sound great. I would love to try the pie. The holidays....I'm not looking forword to them like I should because of all the food so I need all the help I can get. I hope that your Thanksgiving was good. when is your holiday by the way. I guess I never thought about your Thanksgiving not being the same as Americans.
Well, it's 3:30 am and I am up for the day I guess. Can't seem to go back to sleep. I think that I will at least go rest for awhile. Maybe that will help.

Everyone have a good day and I will type again soon.
