  • I'll join you guys in that 20 lbs by christmas goal! if I could lose that goal by then that would be soooooo wonderful!
  • I am also a Weight Watchers member. I just became a lifetime member last Saturday with a total weight loss since starting this program of 130 pounds. Now comes the hard part, not gaining more than 2 pounds. LOL (like I know when to quit eating). If you want to be a buddy and you have yahoo messenger, just add me, my signature id is cowgirl73160.

    Thanks,
    Lisa
  • This is great! we are getting a nice little group going here. Don't forget to ask for help for Thanksgiving if you need it. Since I have already dealt with that and survived it with a loss (thank you god) I am ready to cheer the rest of you on. Do make the pie it is very good and I made sure to eat my salad and veggies first so the higher calorie things would be the ones left behind when i was full. I also made sure I had some low calorie snacks (cheerios low fat snack mix) so I wouldn't feel left out while everyone else ate the chips and such.
  • Sherie, what does your dailydiet consist of? would love to know if you have the time to type it out please.
    Spears Of Joy.
  • Are you sure you want to know this? Here it is

2- 113 ml containers of yogurt with 1 cup of blueberries for breakfast = 3 pts

4-6 cups of salad with 2 Tbls parmesan cheese and either White Balsamic Vinegar or Fat Free Caesar Dressing. = 3 Pts

If I have leftover chicken I will add 2 ounces to the salad.

If I am very hungry I will have a sandwich with 2 slices of wholegrain bread (4 points) and 2 ounces of fat free ham/turkey (2 points) I can usually only eat half of this and I save the other half for a snack later. (6 points total)

For snack I usually have 1 ½ cups of steamed carrots and zuchinni with a pinch of sugar and a bit of salt and becel spray. = 0 points

I will have a cup of milk with the above = 2 points

For dinner I eat 2 ounces of meat usually chicken and pork and occasionally beef with ½ cup of rice or 3 ounces potato and 1 cup of veggies or salad. Points usually are 5-7

I almost always have 3 points in hard candy or soft caramels every day.

I will eat a cup or more of berries or other fruits during the day as well for 1-3 points a day.

I like to have pretzels and popcorn for snacks. I sometimes eat potato chips, regular not fat free and I have popcorn once a week with 3 Tbls butter for a 12 point total.

I usually eat 18-28 points per day. I have a hard time most days (except popcorn day) getting in all 34 of my points.

I prefer not to eat something I don’t want just to meet the daily points allowance.

Usually once a week I will eat out at Swiss Chalet or a pizza place and that uses 20- 30 points alone for that day.
  • Hey Everyone,
Boy are we growing or what!?! Welcome to all.

    Sherri~
Thanks for the Pumpkin Pie. My sister-in-law is sharing this goal with us so I'm sure she will enjoy the pie too. Your daily diet looks alot like mine although I don't eat yogurt. I have cereal instead. I love salads too but when its cold I like soup, good and hot. I agree with you. I don't eat just to get my points in. If I'm not hungry, I don't eat. I'm not saying that it happens often but sometimes.

We'll get there together! What plan are you using?

Lisa~ Congrats on making Lifetime!!! That's great! 130 lbs....that's something to be very proud of. Just keep remembering how hard it was to get to where you are now. Maybe that will help you stay within your 2 lb range.

    Welcome to the group!

    Have a good weekend everyone.

  • Lisa,

What an achievement losing 130lbs. There must have been one or two things that really worked for you that you can share with us. I can't wait until it is my turn to worry about that 2 pounds, lol.
  • Well, I spent the day working on a recipe for spaghetti sauce and came up with one using bison that is just under 2.5 points per cup. You could of course use extra lean ground beef for it. I spent the day working out all of the amounts and my recipe makes 35 cups. I like to make enough to freeze for a couple of meals and some for my mother in law who doesn't cook any longer. If you are interested in the recipe let me know.

I also tried a brownie mix called "no pudge" and it is very good, I am heading over to their website later to see what else they do. 1 - 12 of a recipe is 2 points and they are very tasty.

I like to keep my meal points under 8 for most meals as I can't seem to eat much more than that unless it is pizza or something with fries attached.

If any of you have any great recipes, post them for us, anything to make it easier to get that 20 pounds off.

    Stay strong
  • I'm in!!
    Hi ladies,

I would really appreciate being part of this lil' group. I'm a new member and I'm doing the 3 hour diet. I bought the book last week and have finished reading the thing finally. I am going to be weighing in on Sundays and would appreciate receiving support as well as glad to give support. I have about 70 lbs to lose in total. I would love to lose 20lbs by christmas but seeing as how I'm starting this week and I'm aiming for 2 lbs a week, I'll aim for a good solid 18 pounds. Best of luck to us all and we'll certainly be in touch!!!! woo hoo!!

We are happy to have you and I am sure you can make your goal for Christmas. It doesn't matter what amount you want to lose. Some of us started with the 20 but you can do whatever you are comfortable with.

I look forward to cheering you on...
  • Welcome! I too am at Weight Watchers for the umpteenth time - but this time is DIFFERENT! I have lost about 30 pounds, although I am not sure because I only find out once a month. This has worked wonders for me to take the weigh-in stress away! I am also reading books about WHY I eat - until I fix that, nothing is going to work Right now I am in Life is Hard, Food is Easy. It is a great book!

THis will be a long journey for me - I will probably need to lose about 60 more pounds - but it is a life long commitment. Let's encourage each other all the way to success!
  • any suggestions?
Hello again ladies. Thanks for the welcome Sheri C! Need to Change, what has been the best book you've read on the "why's" of over-eating. I'd like to pick up something to read which might help me understand my life choices better. In the meantime, I'm making a list in my journal to help me break bad habits, in other words to keep me from opening the fridge and over-eating. So far I have: read a book, go to a movie, give myself a facial, or paint my nails, knitting....... any suggestions to add to my list?

    cheers,

  • hi everyone I'm new to this stuff, not dieting, just computer chat...... would love to begin tho.any suggestions? I got this far by accidnt.
  • jabber,

The forums are a great way to meet people and get extra support which we all need on this journey. Just poke around and have fun. It helps to add threads to your subscribed list so you can find them again. And read the stickys at the top of the forums for help too.
  • You know, what I have been doing is wearing a Livestrong wristband on my right wrist, everytime I see it I know that I can do this, I am strong enough to make sure that I don't open that cupboard or refridgerator and eat for no reason. I have also been thinking about a young man I saw on Oprah, he has no arms or legs and has written a book called "no Excuses" I haven't read the book but Kyle Maynard is an amazing individual. If you want to read a bit about him go here:

    http://www.kmaynard.com/

I figure if Lance Armstrong can achieve what he has and Kyle can continue to achieve his goals with no arms and legs then how can I NOT achieve what I set out to do. So my new motto for myself is: Livestrong with No Excuses!
