Hi everyone
I'm so glad I found this forum. I'm really reaching the end of my rope here. I"m about ready to give up, so I hope that I can change that by reading about all of your successes. Way to go everyone, I'm so impressed....and jealous. I'm not exactly sure how much i weigh right now, i will weigh tomorrow morning (to get the lightest weight right )
I have just been really depressed lately and find myself binge eating alot. The depression mainly comes from the fact that from my highest weight of 263 lbs, i got down to 194 lbs. and now i'm probably about 245, though i'm not sure. i just cant believe i let myself let all that hard work go to waste.
at any rate, i just wanted to say hello.
Thanks for listening.
Welcome to the forum Kitty! You've come to the right place for motivation and encouragement. I think almost everyone here knows what you are going through because we've all experienced it at one time or another. I am actually 5 weeks into my second go-around (or is it go round?) with Weight Watchers. I originally joined WW a little over two years ago, lost almost 120 lbs. only to gain 130 lb. total back in the last year. The important thing is that you caught yourself before you gained it all back (or all back plus some like I did!). Now you have to forget the past and move on! Today is a new day - get back on track now!!
Kitty, Melissa pretty much sum up what I was going to say. Take it day by day. Or even 1/2 day by 1/2 day. Just don't give up. On moments mess up can be the nexted victory!!
Gotta love those naked morning weigh-ins! Welcome, and please post often. Since you've seen that other people can do it, you know that you can do it, too. For me, persistence is the key. Change your lifestyle and don't worry about how long it takes because you learn valuable lessons along the way.
Thanks for all your encouragement!!! I really have to work on the one day at a time thing. I have been having many problems lately with afternoon eating for some reason, so I'll probably be on here alot. So i think i'll make mini-goals. Like to eat well and exercise for that day, not think of the days ahead. Hopefully I'll post a thread tomorrow to tell you all if i actually started. If you dont see me around, that probably means i was a big failure, but i'm really going to try.
Thanks again everyone, just reading that others feel the same way makes it just a little bit easier, you know?
Mini-goals are definately a great start, and don't worry if you haven't met your goal, tell us anyway - this is a wonderful place for support and encouragement.
Welcome to the forum! This is a great group of people and congrats to you for doing the first step! There are some great successes as well as everyone is going through the same thing!
Thanks again everyone. I'm not sure what all my goals are exactly yet. Because I'm more concerned with my size than weight. So I picked 170 lbs for a goal right now (i'm 5'6"), but that may change depending on what size I am when I get there. I'm also not sure about minigoals yet, probably looking to lose 10 lbs at a time, that seems more attainable.
How often do you all weight yourself? Is once a week enough? or should i do it more than that? do any of you do your measurements as well?
Hey there, kitty...and welcome! Re: weighing -- I really believe that's so different for everyone. I fluctuate. Sometimes I weigh once a week, other times I get in an every-morning cycle (which is usually when I need to stop and refocus because it means I'm obsessing about numbers). Switch it up a bit and find what works best for you.
And I keep meaning to take my measurements, but I also keep not being able to find the tape measure. Conveniently, of course.
Welcome Kitty. Don't go away just because you mess up. If we all did that this board would be empty. I too have lost a lot of weight only to let myself gain it back. I feel like I have got a good hold on that now and am on my way to lifetime of eating healthy. I look forward to seeing you around.
It is a wonderful place ~ full of encouragement, successes, understanding. You are not alone. One day at a time ~ never give up. You have done it before (that is impressive to me as I have not done it once yet) you can do it again.
Try not to get to discouraged ok? I have been there before myself I lost 67 ponds before and met my husband and we brought out the worst in both of us and have gained it all back as well as about 52 lbs. We can all be here for each other and get through this, I need help to my picky eating husband doesn't want to jump on board with me. Keep your spirits up!
Dani
Hi Kitty!
If you did it once you can do it again! Dont you think so? I think that is the key!¨
So, dont give up, dont weigh yourself too often (once a week is enough!) and just keep going. Maybe you should just try not to be opsessive about it, try to calm yourself first. I will do that for the next week and than try harder.
Welcome! This is the place to be! Don't worry about messing up, believe me, we've all been there - like Howie said, if we didn't come back when we screwed up there wouldn't be anyone HERE!
I only weigh once a week because otherwise I'll obsess - but there are people here that weigh daily - you just have to find what works for you!
