Default The Battle Continues!

I joined here probably some time over a year ago. I'm not sure how much I weighed then (I wonder if my post is still around??)...but I have gained considerably. I had recently gotten very sick (about november) and they prescribed prenisone (spelling?)-- anyways, it's a steroid. Within the month I was taking it I had gained 15 lbs. I proceeded to have Surgery, which prevented me from eating solid foods for 3 weeks... so I lost 10 lbs. Well, I really shouldnt have any excuses. I have a positive attitude and I've finally started making adjustments (hence why I came back).

I am 22 yrs old, and I live in CT.

If anyone would like to partner up with me, I'd love to have a partner in crime, defeating this disease. I want my old self again. Over the past 4 years I've gained 60 lbs! Its about time I fought back!!! And I need all the help I can get!

I bought an AB Lounge (My god I love it!!) So if anyone has any opinions on that I am open. I am open for any suggestions to get me in gear too! BTW I LOVE THIS SITE!!!

Welcome Luna ,

I hope you are feeling better now and that your road to weightloss is not too difficult. When it is we are here to support one another and in my honest opinion this is the best place on the 'net for support, good healthy living and friendship...

Make yourself at home... TTFN

I was wondering... My Calorie intake should be 1800 per day. Now I do not think i even reach that sometimes...so heres my question, you think its lack of excercise that makes me gain? Seems like everyone in my family, as long as the excercise, lose weight really fast... no matter what they eat. >_< I dont even eat that bad (Well cept the fast food i eat during school Although if I have to, i try to get BK Veggie burger w/o mayo (340 cal i think). Gahhh... i should just talkt o a dietician :P

The math is simple Luna, Calories In + Calories Out = Weightloss .... If you take in too many calories you will gain, if you don't workout enough you will gain. It is NOT true that if you exercise you can eat anything you want, I'm certainly proof of that, for years I thought along those lines: ''I'm working out why am I not losing weight?'' Simple, I was eating toooooo much, period! I was also not exercising quite enough, once I intensified my workouts and brought down the calories to 1200 to 1600 cals/day I started losing weight....HTH

Try to write down everything you eat during the day everyday for a week or so. You can plug everything into fitday.com and it will tell you your calories for the day. This will give you a more accurate picture of the calories that you are consuming. I thought that I was well below what I should have been eating but found out that I usually went over by quite a few calories. Fitday.com really helped me get a good idea of how much I should eat during the day. Plus, I never eat past 6pm anymore...it has helped tremendously. Hope this helps and WELCOME BACK!!

I love love love fitday. It totally keeps me honest. It also makes it so easy to see if I'm getting enough of the various food groups, fiber etc.

Anyways, Im still looking for a buddy. Seriously though! Im willing to watch someone as long as they keep an eye out on me Since obviously the people in my home are too supportive ;_;

So I was hoping someone who has/or will join fitday.com would like to keep and eye on my stuff, and I could do the same for them

Default New to this

I am new to this site and have only posted a couple of times. I am struggling to lose the last 10-12 pounds and am so tired of dieting. I am going to look at the Fitday.com site you all keep mentioning. I can't lose around my middle. Measurements are: 36-32-40. I'm stuck. I wear a size 12 and should be happy but I want to be a smaller 12 and be about 153 and stay there. I am tired of fad diets. Help!!

How tall are you? I have a chart that will tell you what your cal intake should be to keep your weight the same and to loose. Also, what kind of ab training are you doing? Belly should be easy enough to get rid of with the right workout

Hi Luna! I'll be your partner if you don't already have one--I'm also 22, and want to lose 40-50 lbs by September. I don't really like the fitday thing myself--I only have time to use it at work, and I don't have the nutrition facts with me to plug in. However, I REALLY want to be accountable to someone--not just a "board" of people, but a specific someone who I can be friends with, share stories and pics with, etc...in other words, someone I can really get to know so that we care about each other's success on a more personal level. If you're interested, feel free to email me (it's in my profile--I *think* I checked the "allow other members to email you thing" but let me know if it doesn't work and I'll PM my email to you)!! Here's to lost lbs!

Your belly fat will not disappear unless you have a combination of good to excellent nutrition, cardio and weight training. You especially have to be good nutritionally... There is a saying ''Abs are made in the kitchen'' for exactly that reason, that if you are eating improperly, meaning too many processed foods and fat you will never loose the belly fat...

I hear that belly fat is a warning sign for diabetes (not that you have it, but that you could be at risk). Im sure that has to do with the nutritional part of abs that Ilene was stating
